The Zhou family had always hoped that Zhou Sui and Zhou Peng would find someone they liked and bring them home.
Now that they've both found their partners, they've agreed to keep it a secret from their families.
When Zhou Sui told Song Qi'an about this, she found it a little funny. "If my family finds out, I don't know whether they'll be happy or angry."
"Of course I'm happy." Song Qi'an smoothed her hair that was draped over her shoulders. "After all, you've found your ideal partners, haven't you?"
Zhou Sui, who had been leaning on his shoulder, straightened up and sat cross-legged on the sofa. "I haven't quite recovered from the shock of my brother and Sister Tang Jia getting together." She needed time to process it.
Song Qi'an followed her example and leaned back on the sofa, reaching out to put his arm around her shoulder and pulling Zhou Sui's head closer to him.
"Tang Jia may seem carefree and quick-tempered at first glance, but she is actually quite lonely and vulnerable inside, just like her younger brother."
"The older brother is meticulous, caring, and tolerant; their personalities complement each other."
Zhou Sui thought about it and realized it made sense. "What about the two of us? Are we complementary too?"
She and Song Qi'an are not the kind of people with completely opposite personalities; on the contrary, they even have similarities in many ways.
Song Qi'an turned his head and kissed the corner of her eyebrow. "We don't need to complement each other. I'll fill in the gaps."
"You're such a chatterbox." Zhou Sui gently patted his arm, but the smile on her face gradually widened.
Whether their personalities complement each other or are similar, as long as they like each other, that's all that matters.
Song Qi'an had been back for some time and knew about Zhou Sui's biological parents, but the two sides had not yet met. On this day, he happened to have some free time and went shopping with Zhou Sui. They ran into Cheng Song and Ding Shuya in the mall.
Upon meeting, Ding Shuya was bound to arrange a meal. Cheng Song and Ding Shuya were quite curious about the man who had suddenly appeared beside Zhou Sui.
Cheng Song was alright. He worked in education and was very composed. He only talked to Song Qi'an about work. From Song Qi'an's speech and work experience, he knew that this man was a good person.
Ding Shuya, however, was not so composed. Seeing Song Qi'an serving food and soup to Zhou Sui, she finally couldn't help but ask.
"Qi An, are you and Sui Sui dating?"
As she said this, Ding Shuya touched two fingers together. She was actually quite worried about Zhou Sui's marriage. There were many eligible young men around her who were willing to try marriage, but Zhou Sui was unwilling to meet them at all.
Moreover, the Zhou family didn't pressure Zhou Sui into blind dates or anything like that. Ding Shuya was anxious but didn't dare to act rashly. There was already something between Zhou Sui and them, so wouldn't this make Zhou Sui even more resentful and push her further away?
“We…” Song Qi’an looked at Zhou Sui. He was naturally eager for their relationship to be announced as soon as possible, but he also remembered what Zhou Sui had said back then.
Under the watchful eyes of Cheng Song and Ding Shuya, Zhou Sui took Song Qi'an's hand and said, "We're dating now."
As he said this, Zhou Sui clearly felt Song Qi'an's hand tremble slightly. He then quickly grasped Zhou Sui's hand in return, and their fingers intertwined. When their eyes met, Zhou Sui saw the ecstasy in Song Qi'an's eyes.
"Oh, dating is great, dating is great!" Ding Shuya was so excited she didn't know what to say, she just kept saying how great it was, "What a wonderful girl in our Sui Sui, and Qi An is good too."
"Just now in the mall, Lao Cheng and I saw you two from afar and thought you were a perfect match, such a handsome man and a beautiful woman, right, Lao Cheng?"
Ding Shuya nudged Cheng Song with her elbow, signaling him to speak.
Cheng Song's feelings were complicated. He initially thought Song Qi'an was a very good young man, but now that this young man was going to be his daughter's boyfriend, should his criteria for judging him be different?
The meal lasted for more than two hours. During the meal, Ding Shuya and Cheng Song kept asking Song Qi'an all sorts of questions. At first, Zhou Sui was worried that Song Qi'an would feel that there were too many questions and would not want to talk, but she was completely wrong.
Even if Ding Shuya and Cheng Song didn't talk, he wouldn't take the initiative to start a conversation. The atmosphere at the table was never quiet, making Zhou Sui wonder if she was the aloof and taciturn one.
On the way back, Zhou Sui was driving, while Song Qi'an, who had been drinking, had a faint smile on his lips that hadn't disappeared since they left the restaurant.
"Are you that happy?" Zhou Sui asked.
"Yes, I'm very happy, I've never been this happy before." Song Qi'an said without hesitation. What did today's situation mean? It meant that Zhou Sui had accepted the stability of their relationship!
"Now I can tell everyone, you're my girlfriend!" Let's see who dares to even think about her.
That's a bit childish. If they weren't still driving, Zhou Sui would really like to pinch Song Qi'an's cheek to see if this person was really Song Qi'an.
After entering the residential area, the two went back to wash up. Zhou Sui had just finished drying her hair in the bathroom when there was a knock on the door. She didn't even need to guess; it was definitely Song Qi'an. She didn't know how he calculated the time; anyway, she had already come out of the bathroom when he knocked on the door.
"Sui Sui, I'm very happy today."
“I’m very happy too.” Zhou Sui thought she would need to mentally prepare herself before saying what she was going to say about their relationship, but the words just slipped out the moment they crossed her mind.
I haven't told my family yet, but they'll find out gradually. I just don't know how they'll react; I guess they'll be mostly surprised.
