Chapter 88 A Minor Opening Incident (Part 1)

The next morning, Zhou Sui got up and dressed herself up.

She usually wears a bare face, but today her second aunt's clothing store is opening, so she has to go and help out for a while.

Selling clothes is a delicate business; you have to make customers want to come into the store and buy clothes just by looking at you.

Zhou Sui has a standard face shape and beautiful features. With a little makeup, she looks quite different from her usual self, especially when she lets down her hair that she curled all night. Her lazy curls fall over her shoulders, making her look quite mature.

After getting everything ready, Zhou Sui carefully applied lipstick in front of the mirror.

This lipstick was a gift from Zhou Yu. She couldn't quite describe the color, but it really suited her skin tone.

A coat wrapped around her slender figure, and she wore a pair of chunky-heeled leather shoes, which made her look even taller.

Looking at herself in the mirror, Zhou Sui couldn't help but think of Tang Jia, whom she had met once. Tang Jia had a real presence, the kind that seemed capable of going out and causing chaos. But Zhou Sui had a touch more charm than Tang Jia.

Just before leaving, Zhou Sui went back into the house to take out the scarf that Song Qi'an had given her and put it on, only then did she feel very satisfied.

She's styled her hair specially; Zhou Sui definitely won't ride a bicycle, otherwise she'd be even crazier than Mei Chaofeng if the wind blew her.

There is a bus from the village to the town, which runs about once an hour. Zhou Sui keeps track of the time before leaving home; she just needs to wait at the village entrance.

"Oh my, isn't this Zhou's girl? She looks so stylish today."

"Are we going to my second aunt's clothing store?"

"Oh my, this young girl is really amazing. Look how good she looks in that dress. If I wore it, I probably wouldn't even be able to tuck the sleeves in."

Zhou Sui didn't have time to chat with them, and only said one sentence.

"My second aunt has a lot of clothes in her shop, and they're all the most fashionable styles. Next time you need to buy clothes, go to her shop and I guarantee you'll find something you like."

With Chinese New Year just over a month away, the end of the year is the peak time for clothing purchases. Everyone wants to look their best and have a presentable New Year, so it's a very suitable time for Zhang Cui to open her business.

Without waiting for a reply, she shuffled away in her little leather shoes.

Zhang Xiaoqing ran into her just as they were leaving the village.

Zhang Xiaoqing was wearing dirty clothes and carrying a full basket of vegetables on her back.

The heavy basket weighed her down so much that she could barely straighten her back.

Zhou Sui walked very fast, and since the two were on opposite sides of the road, they clearly didn't notice her.

After the two passed each other, Zhang Xiaoqing stopped and looked back.

The hem of Zhou Sui's coat swayed as she walked, and Zhang Xiaoqing no longer knew whether she felt envious or jealous.

She couldn't remember how many times she had seen Zhou Sui's back, and every time she did, she felt that the gap between her and Zhou Sui was getting bigger and bigger.

Zhang Xiaoqing clenched her fists. Soon, she too would have her own place to stand, just like Zhou Sui.

After a bumpy half-hour ride on the shuttle bus, Zhou Sui finally arrived at her destination.

As she got off the bus, she thought to herself that she must find time to take the driving test as soon as possible, otherwise if she took the bus a few more times, not only would her bones fall apart, but her stomach would also fall apart.

"Sister?!" Zhou Yu exclaimed when she saw Zhou Sui, then rushed over and hugged her tightly.

"Good heavens, I thought it was some big star, but it turns out to be my sister."

"My sister is so beautiful, how can there be such a beautiful sister?"

Zhou Yu showered Zhou Sui with compliments, making her feel utterly smitten. "Alright, alright, that's enough. If you keep praising me, I'll lose my bearings."

“I’m telling the absolute truth. Look, even in just this short time, there are men staring at you.” Zhou Yu said, gesturing forward with her chin.

Zhou Sui turned around and met the gaze of a boy who was looking at her.

The boy was clearly taken aback by Zhou Sui's sudden turn around, blushed deeply, and then tried to turn his head away in embarrassment, but failed to see the road ahead and almost stumbled.

Zhou Yu covered her mouth, her eyes crinkling with laughter. "Haha, someone's been watching my sister so much she can't even walk properly anymore."

This girl is getting more and more exaggerated.

Zhou Sui was too lazy to waste words with her and pulled her into the store.

It's Saturday, and there are a lot of people out shopping. Even at noon, several groups of people have already come into the stores.

Zhang Cui was already experienced, and with the help of models Zhou Yu and Zhou Sui, it was like adding wings to a tiger.

Zhou Dawu didn't know how to sell clothes, so he just stood at the door and collected the money.

Zhou Sui picked up a girl in her early twenties, who tried on many clothes at Zhou Sui's recommendation.

"Your clothes are really beautiful. I never knew I could wear clothes like this."

“I went to other stores just now, and they said that someone like me is lucky to even have anything to wear. They were so picky and wouldn’t even let me try anything on.”

The girl was a bit plump, but Zhang Cuijin had a lot of clothes, so she could find something suitable for all body types, tall, short, thin, and fat.

"You can only know if clothes fit by trying them on. You see, by trying them on, you can find out that there are so many other clothes that fit."

Zhou Sui placed the clothes that had been tried on on the counter and let the girl choose what she liked.

"I can't afford to buy so many at once, so I'll just pick a few that I like best."

A short while later, the girl came out carrying a bag full of clothes.

Just as Zhou Sui had seen the person out and turned to walk back, someone suddenly rushed out of the shop next door.

"Hey, you guys next door, don't go too far."

At first, Zhou Sui didn't know that they were talking about their area.

“We’re all in the business of selling clothes. Don’t block our way. If you don’t let me have an easy time, we won’t let you have an easy time either.”

She didn't turn around until the voice sounded right behind her.

All I saw was an older woman with a head full of tight curls, looking fierce, standing at the door with her hands on her hips.
