The Zhou family didn't take Sister Chen's little incident to heart in the end.
Zhou Sui spent the whole day working at the store, and she felt like it had been a long time since she had spoken so much all at once.
"Sui'er, take this back." When they went back, Zhang Cui handed her a big bag.
Zhou Sui opened it and said, "Second Aunt, why are you giving me these clothes? You can put them in the store to sell."
Zhang Cui pushed the clothes back, saying, "If I put these clothes in the store, I'll lose money. Listen to your second aunt, take them back and let your parents and Ah Xu try them on. I think the size is right."
“I wouldn’t have bothered if I hadn’t been in this industry before, but now that I understand all the ins and outs, I have to make things convenient for my own people.”
"You came to help me today, and I didn't even say thank you. So don't worry about me being polite either."
As Zhang Cui finished speaking in a flurry, Zhou Sui smiled at her.
"Second Aunt is speaking more and more fluently now, your clothing store will definitely do better and better."
"Hehe, when Auntie's business gets bigger, I'll take care of all the clothes for our family, and none of you are allowed to refuse."
Actually, Zhang Cui occasionally buys clothes for the whole family, so Zhou Sui feels that she doesn't need to buy any more clothes this winter.
There were two brand-new coats in the closet, with the tags still on.
Zhang Cui's clothing store is quite large, and it's inevitable that she can't manage it all by herself sometimes. Zhou Sui suggested that she find someone to help her so that she wouldn't have to close the store when she needs to go to buy goods or when something else happens.
"Who are you looking for? I'm thinking of having your second uncle quit his job."
Zhang Cui already had an idea in mind: "His job is easy, but the salary is low. It's not even enough for me to earn today."
The couple had already discussed it. Zhou Dawu noticed that apart from Zhou Yu, who was still in school, both his son and daughter-in-law earned more than him.
While he is still young and energetic, he should make as much money as possible so that he can enjoy his old age in peace.
Zhou Sui didn't say anything more after hearing that she had a plan, although she felt it was not appropriate to have her second uncle come along to help run the shop.
After all, Zhang Cui sells women's clothing, catering to everyone from young to middle-aged. While older women might be okay with it, young girls or older women might not want to go in if they see men inside.
"Alright, Sui Sui, go back to your room and get some sleep. You've had a long day."
Zhang Cui yawned as she spoke, looking exhausted.
She had been busy these past few days preparing for the opening, and Zhou Sui went back as instructed.
I rested at home for a day and took the opportunity to draw up the design drawings for the storefronts in the city.
To be honest, her drawing skills were very poor; the lines were crooked and she relied entirely on the text annotations next to them.
After she finished everything, she got up and went to town. The storefront in the city was expected to open after the New Year, and she needed to recruit staff before that.
Zhou Meimei is actually a very good candidate, but it's just unknown whether she's willing to go to the city.
During the initial interview, Zhou Meimei mentioned that she had returned to her town from the city because she was closer to her parents.
She went there today to talk to Zhou Meimei. Having someone she knows in the newly opened store would make it easier to manage.
When Zhou Sui arrived, the store was no longer busy. She walked in, and Zhou Meimei seemed to be in a daze, not even noticing her.
"Sister Xiaomei." Zhou Sui didn't speak, but quietly walked around behind Zhou Meimei and called out softly, "What are you thinking about?"
“Who else could I be thinking of, Song…” Zhou Meimei said listlessly. Halfway through her sentence, she suddenly realized something was wrong. She turned around and saw Zhou Sui’s delicate and pretty face.
She immediately snapped out of her daze, a fleeting look of guilt crossing her face.
Then, realizing that she hadn't said anything, she straightened up and spoke in a way that avoided the main point.
"Why are you here? You sneak up behind me, trying to scare me."
Just as Zhou Sui was about to speak, her smile suddenly froze, and her expression changed.
"What do you see?" Zhou Meimei had her back to the door. When she turned around, she saw two people standing at the door: an elderly woman with a hunched back and a young woman who looked shifty-eyed.
"Oh, we have a guest!" Zhou Meimei immediately smiled and went to greet the guest.
The two women walked in, and the young woman immediately asked in a fierce tone, "Is this shop owned by Li Qiuju?"
Li Qiuju? Zhou Meimei thought for a moment, isn't that her aunt's name?
"Yes, are you looking for your aunt? I'll call her."
Before Zhou Meimei could even turn around and call out, Li Qiuju came out from the kitchen.
She saw a look of surprise on the faces of the two men, and they frantically wiped their hands on their aprons.
"Mom, Xiaohua, what brings you here?"
Old Mrs. Li snorted heavily, "If we hadn't come, we wouldn't have known you were making a fortune in town."
Zhao Xiaohua stood next to Grandma Li, her eyes darting around as she sized up the not-so-big snack shop.
It's been tidied up quite well. Look at this table in the shop, it's even better than the one I use at home.
"Mom, Xiaohua, don't stand, come on, sit down first."
Li Qiuju knew that Old Lady Li was unhappy, so she could only ask her to sit down first.
Zhou Meimei watched the old woman and the young girl walk past arrogantly, and whispered to Zhou Sui, "Is this really your maternal grandmother and aunt?"
"Hmm." Zhou Sui nodded helplessly. Although she didn't want to admit it, it was the truth.
"They don't look like relatives, more like they're here to cause trouble," Zhou Meimei muttered.
Zhou Sui snorted coldly, "You're actually right."
Bloodsuckers like the Li family will come knocking sooner or later once they find out.
She wanted to see what the Li family was here for today.
"Sister, Mom and I haven't eaten yet." Zhao Xiaohua had just sat down when her eyes fell on the semi-transparent kitchen.
There looked like there was a lot of food inside, and many of them were things she had never seen before. Zhao Xiaohua, who didn't have much oil or fat at home, couldn't help but swallow.
"Okay, I'll go get it right away. Mom, Xiaohua, what do you all want to eat?"
Grandma Li glared at her and said sharply, "Bring whatever you have to eat. I want to eat dragon meat and sea cucumber. Can you get it for me?"
Li Qiuju choked, fidgeted with the edge of her apron, and forced a smile. "Please sit down for a while, I'll get some food right away."
Just as she was about to turn and walk towards the kitchen, Zhou Sui suddenly pulled her back, "Mom, I'll do it, you take a break."
Li Qiuju stared at her daughter in astonishment, and she still didn't understand until Zhou Sui walked into the kitchen.
Sui Sui hasn't been in the kitchen for a long time, so why did she suddenly offer to cook today?
