“We’re all family, I really don’t care about this,” Zhou Sui said after leaving her parents’ room.
She has no blood relation to the Zhou family. Whether it's the elders or her peers, they truly treat her like family, let alone spending money to buy her a house now.
She wants to buy a house for her family when she earns money in the future.
Zhou Xu, who always loved to say playful things, suddenly seemed a bit more mature today. "Mom and Dad know you don't care, but they are Mom and Dad, and they do care."
They care because they love Zhou Sui.
Zhou Sui sighed softly and looked back at her parents' room, where the lights were already off.
"Forget it, let's postpone this for a couple of days." She still wanted to buy a house.
Zhou Sui pondered whether she should secretly buy the house and then tell your family.
But when is the best time to say it? Should we say it right after we buy it, or wait until we hear rumors about building a train station?
This problem was quite troubling. When she opened her eyes the next morning, she suddenly thought of a reason and found a suitable excuse.
Unfortunately, when she woke up, her parents had gone to town, and the school was already on winter break. Zhou Xu also went to the shop to help out.
Zhou Sui wandered from her own yard to the neighbor's yard, and then wandered back.
Well, she was home alone. Even Grandma Zhou was nowhere to be found. The gate to the courtyard was locked.
Zhou Sui crossed her arms and was about to close the door when a figure came into view.
"Brother Qi'an?" she called as she opened the door. "Didn't you go to work today?"
Zhou Sui's tone revealed a sense of excitement, as if I had overslept and missed work, and when I turned around I found that there was someone else in the same boat, which gave me a feeling of kindred spirits.
Song Qi'an, however, thought she was happy to see him and thought to himself that he had really made the right decision to come.
"My aunt made these soup dumplings, I brought some over for you to try."
After the two families became closer, they would occasionally exchange food, and it was a reciprocal exchange.
Usually, Zhao Xinfeng does this job in the Zhao family, but today Song Qi'an took the initiative to do it.
Now it seems that perhaps fate knew Zhou Sui was there, so it sent him here. This is what is called telepathy.
Zhou Sui was unaware that Song Qi'an had imagined such a scene. She led him into the courtyard and then went to the kitchen to find a bowl to hold the steamed buns.
Tian Xiaoyun's steamed buns are absolutely amazing, famous throughout the village. Zhou Sui couldn't help but swallow hard when she saw the buns.
"Your parents have gone to town?" Song Qi'an looked around the yard. Except for Zhou Sui's room, which had a crack in the door, all the other rooms were tightly closed.
"Mm." Zhou Sui responded, and was about to wash the bowl for Song Qi'an when Song Qi'an took it from her, saying, "No need to wash it."
"Come inside and sit for a while, it's cold outside," Zhou Sui said, pushing open the door to the main room, where a fire was burning.
Song Qi'an gently shook his head and refused. There was no one else at the Zhou family home, so it was not appropriate for him to go in.
“I have to go to town later, so I won’t sit here. You can go inside now, and I’ll close the gate for you.”
"By the way, be careful when eating the steamed buns, the soup inside is very hot."
Judging from the bowl Zhou Sui was holding, Song Qi'an guessed that she probably hadn't eaten yet.
"Okay, goodbye." Zhou Sui didn't try to stop him. Mainly, she felt a little guilty looking at Song Qi'an because she remembered that the reason for buying the house was Song Qi'an.
Song Qi'an turned and left. Zhou Sui put the bowl on the fire plate, thinking that eating only steamed buns was a bit too much, so she ran to the kitchen to see if there was anything to drink.
Finally, carrying a cup of soy milk, she was about to enter the main room when she suddenly turned back to look at the courtyard gate.
"I should close the door," she thought, holding her soy milk and walking step by step toward the door. She wasn't sure if her eyes were playing tricks on her, but she thought something flashed past the doorway.
Zhou Sui opened the door in confusion and looked inside, but there was nothing there. She couldn't even see a passing figure.
"That's strange," Zhou Sui muttered. Could her eyes be playing tricks on her? She locked the door from the inside, stood at the door for a while, and then walked into the main room.
A few steps away from the Zhou family's courtyard gate, behind a pile of corn cobs, a person was huddled up, breathing heavily with tension. After a while, he revealed half of his face and, seeing the Zhou family's tightly closed courtyard gate, stepped out from the corn cob pile.
That face, covered in blemishes, was none other than Wang Laizi, the same man who had tried to take advantage of Zhou Sui when he was drunk on the hillside.
But he was perfectly sober, with not a trace of alcohol on him.
Wang Laizi looked around to make sure no one was coming this way, then tiptoed to the Zhou family's door. He reached out and pushed the wooden door, but it wouldn't budge; it was locked from the inside.
"Damn it!" Wang Laizi couldn't help but curse under his breath. After cursing, he made sure the person inside heard him, then turned around and hurriedly walked away.
I should have known better than to hide. If I had just rushed in and locked the door, that little wench wouldn't have been able to do anything to him.
After waiting for several days, Wang Laizi finally found that only Zhou Sui was home. Then Zhao's grandson came over. After everyone left, Wang Laizi stood outside and looked through the crack in the door. He was about to gently push the door open and go in when that woman, for some reason, walked towards the door.
Perhaps feeling guilty, Wang Laizi instinctively turned and ran.
He had been keeping watch around the Zhou family's neighborhood for the past few days. He already had a hiding place, and he was quick enough to escape Zhou Sui's notice.
But now that the door is locked, Wang Laizi is at a loss.
"Son, why are you back?" Granny Wang had just come out of the kitchen when she saw her son shrinking his neck as he entered the main room. "Did you succeed?"
