Chapter 70 It's better to think things through and make more decisions.

After Zhou Peng left, Zhang Cui then told Zhou Sui about the shop-keeping incident that day.

"I plan to rent two adjacent storefronts and then open up the middle to make the storefronts look more spacious and grand."

Zhou Sui truly admired Zhang Cui's boldness; she not only wanted to open a shop, but also a rather large one.

"Do you have a storefront you're interested in?"

“Yes, Auntie went around there today and found out the price from the landlord. I’m planning to take your second uncle to take another look tomorrow. If there are no problems, I’ll make a decision.” Zhang Cui’s tone was firm.

"I'm afraid Uncle will still listen to you when he goes." Zhou Sui thought about Uncle's personality; he figured whatever Aunt said would go.

Sometimes this kind of personality is quite good. Although there's not much advice to offer, it won't become a stumbling block.

“I still have to go.” Zhang Cui said, standing up and patting her clothes. “Alright, that’s all I have to do. I’m off now, I have to go back and feed the pigs.”

Zhou Sui saw the person to the door, her mind still full of doubts. She thought her second aunt had come to the store specifically to ask her for advice, but she had clearly already made up her mind, so why bother making this special trip? She could have just gone home and told her.

Little did she know that Zhang Cui had initially come with the intention of getting advice from Zhou Sui, because she couldn't find anyone to consult.

But seeing her son's change, she suddenly realized that since she had her own ideas, why did she need someone to push her before she could make up her mind?

Ren Suisui is just a young girl who has just come of age. She is busy with this and that all day long. She doesn't have to rack her brains and ask around for advice like others do. She should think more and make her own decisions.

It's unreasonable for her, as the mother, to bother others when her son is causing them trouble.

Zhou Sui was unaware of her inner thoughts and thought her second aunt simply wanted to share her decision.

After everyone left, she turned to walk towards the backyard, but Zhou Meimei called out to her.

"Sui Sui, why hasn't your friend Song Qi'an come over for dinner lately?" Zhou Meimei asked, a blush creeping across her face.

"Him?" Zhou Sui couldn't help but recall the beautiful Tang Jia she had met that day. "He's with a friend."

Zhou Sui learned about this from Zhou Peng, because Song Qi'an had told them not to prepare their own meals these past few days, as he was not in town and had gone to the city with Tang Jia.

"Male or female?" Zhou Meimei asked immediately.

"A woman."

"She's a pretty girl," Zhou Sui added.

Then Zhou Meimei's expression visibly dimmed. "Isn't that his girlfriend?"

Zhou Sui didn't know this, but she noticed a hint of intimacy in Tang Jia's tone when she spoke to Song Qi'an that day.

"Sigh." Zhou Meimei sighed softly, pouting and complaining, "And I dressed up every day to wait for him to come."

As if in a fit of pique, she grabbed a piece of paper and haphazardly wiped the lipstick off her lips.

Zhou Sui was about to remind her, but it was too late. In just a few seconds, Zhou Meimei's lipstick was not only not wiped off, but it was all smeared around her mouth, making her look rather comical like a clown.

"Sister Xiaomei, why don't you go wash your face?" She was standing right at the counter by the entrance; if a customer saw her, they might be startled.

"Don't worry, I'm not going to cry. So what if he has a girlfriend? He's so good-looking and rich, it's normal for him to have a girlfriend."

Zhou Meimei had no idea what was going on with her face. She forced a smile, but now it was even more frightening.

"Sister Xiaomei, you~" Zhou Sui wanted to remind her about the lipstick, but just then a customer walked in.

"Hello, what would you like to eat?" Zhou Meimei immediately smiled and asked warmly.

The newcomer paused for a moment, glanced at Zhou Meimei several times, and asked, "Meimei, what's wrong with you?"

Someone she knew? Zhou Sui turned around and saw a man of medium build standing in front of the counter, holding a plastic bag in his hand. If she wasn't mistaken, it looked like it contained steamed buns and mantou.

Steamed buns and mantou? It's already afternoon, is this breakfast or tomorrow's breakfast?

Zhou Meimei looked at the person in front of her, unable to recall who they were. "Who are you?"

"It's me, Brother Wu, Wu Qiang." The man smiled. "I've seen you at your house before."

Upon hearing this, Zhou Meimei remembered, and the smile on her face instantly vanished.

"Oh, it's you."

"This is our menu. Take a look and see what you'd like to eat, and I'll place your order." Although she was a little reluctant to see Wu Qiang, Zhou Meimei still followed the store's rules and was expected to be enthusiastic towards her customers.

The lipstick was a bit scary, so Zhou Sui quickly went over and whispered, "You haven't wiped your lipstick off properly. Go wash your face first, I'll do it."

The man named Wu Qiang stared at Zhou Meimei's lips for a long time, probably filled with doubt, wondering how lipstick could be applied like that.

Zhou Meimei went to the backyard, and Zhou Sui called out to people to order.

But Wu Qiang waved his hand, "I'm here to see Meimei, I don't eat anything."

Zhou Sui understood and pointed out a spot for Wu Qiang to sit and wait for him, but she was puzzled. Judging from Zhou Meimei's reaction, it seemed that she didn't remember this person at all, but Wu Qiang called out to her so affectionately.

"Your store looks pretty big." While waiting for the others, Wu Qiang looked around.

"Hmm, it's alright." Zhou Sui even felt it was too small; when it was crowded, there wasn't enough room to sit down.

"You work here just like Meimei?" Wu Qiang glanced at Zhou Sui, thinking to himself that all the girls working in this shop were incredibly beautiful.

"Is this boss a man?" Wu Qiang asked before Zhou Sui could answer.

Huh? Zhou Sui didn't understand what the necessary connection was.

Her stunned expression made Wu Qiang think he had guessed correctly.

"This shop has only been open for a short time, and it's only hired two employees. Can it afford to pay you their wages?"

"My family also runs a shop in town, right behind the school."

Zhou Sui knew that it was the oldest street in the whole town, and apart from the families who ran their own businesses, very few people would rent a storefront there.

But she didn't know why Wu Qiang brought this up.
