"I...I'm a dance champion! But it's just dancing..." Bai Mei's voice trailed off, and her face began to flush, as she was feeling a little guilty.
Chang Jing suddenly realized and laughed: "Is that so! Then I really didn't recognize you, my apologies for my rudeness."
As he spoke, he deliberately clasped his hands in a gesture of admiration.
"Hmph! Don't give me that! You're clearly laughing at me in your heart!" Bai Mei said, hands on her hips and pouting.
"No, no, anyway, thank you anyway, it's kind of you." Chang Jing smiled and waved his hand.
The farce in the milk tea shop temporarily subsided after the two exchanged some playful banter.
...
The thugs ran for several blocks before daring to stop and catch their breath.
The gang leader quickly found the alley where Luo Fei and his gang were hiding and rushed inside.
Upon seeing the gang leader's disheveled appearance, Luo Fei immediately realized that something was wrong.
"What's going on?" he asked sternly.
The gang leader described everything that happened at the milk tea shop, especially mentioning Chang Jing's skills and words, which terrified Luo Fei, turning his face pale.
"So, you can't even manage a small bubble tea shop?" Luo Fei's eyes were filled with disappointment and anger. "I paid you to cause me trouble, you bunch of useless trash!"
The gang leader trembled with fear at Luo Fei's angry outburst, stammering an apology: "I'm sorry, Young Master Luo, that Chang Jing is really formidable, none of us are a match for him..."
"Useless!" Luo Fei roared again.
Seeing this, the bespectacled man quickly tried to smooth things over: "Young Master Luo, please calm down. If force won't work, let's try something more subtle. We can pretend to be customers at the milk tea shop and sneakily add something to the food to ruin its reputation. Using this kind of tactic in a restaurant will surely give Chang Jing a real headache."
Luo Fei listened to the bespectacled man's suggestion, and a glint of light flashed in his eyes.
He sneered, "That's a good idea. With so many customers in their shop, they'll never suspect we'd cut corners on food hygiene. If any problems are discovered, their reputation will be severely damaged!"
Luo Fei excitedly ordered, "Glasses, go and make arrangements. Tomorrow, we'll give the milk tea shop something big, and make sure Chang Jing loses face!"
The bespectacled man nodded hurriedly, thinking that he could finally redeem himself for Young Master Luo.
"Don't worry, young master, I will make sure they are well prepared and suffer a great deal!"
...
The next day, Chang Jing came to work at the store as usual.
Bai Mei also came along. She said cheerfully, "I came along today specifically so that no one would come looking for trouble and push you too far!"
Chang Jing smiled helplessly, feeling grateful for Bai Mei's kindness.
Just as Chang Jing and his group were discussing the decoration of the new store, a few people walked into the store.
Chang Jing looked over and saw a few uninvited guests—the same thugs who had caused trouble yesterday, only today they had changed their clothes and were acting as customers.
Bai Mei was also taken aback when she saw this. She asked in a low voice, "Weren't these the people who came to cause trouble yesterday? Why are they here again today?"
Chang Jing remained noncommittal, simply saying, "The visitor is not friendly."
He decided to ignore these people for the time being and focus on finishing his current work.
The bespectacled man led his group into the shop and said with a slick look, "Boss, a few cups of milk tea, please!"
He then chose a seat, and the others followed suit and ordered their food.
Chang Jing asked the waiter to take orders and deliver the food, while he secretly kept an eye on the movements of these people.
While the waiter was serving the food, the bespectacled man secretly took a small packet of powder from his pocket and poured it into one of the cups of milk tea.
The movements were swift and stealthy, so that even bystanders were completely unaware.
The bespectacled man thought to himself, "This is great! Let's see if Chang Jing still dares to offend Young Master Luo!"
Not long after, the milk tea was served.
The bespectacled man deliberately picked up the cup of milk tea with added toppings, took a sip, and then showed a satisfied expression, saying, "Boss, the milk tea is good!" He then pushed it in front of the person next to him to show that he was sharing.
The man didn't find anything amiss and started drinking as well.
He suddenly froze just as he was finishing his drink, then his face turned deathly pale. He clutched his stomach and screamed in pain, startling the other customers in the shop who all put down their cups and looked at the bespectacled man and his companion in horror.
Bai Mei was also taken aback when she saw this, and quickly ran over to ask, "What's wrong, sir? Is there something wrong with your health?"
Seeing that his plan had succeeded, the bespectacled man quickly feigned panic and shouted, "Oh my god, could the milk tea be poisoned?! This shop is trying to kill its customers!"
Upon hearing this, Bai Mei's expression changed. She anxiously grabbed Chang Jing and said, "Chang Jing, the guest has been poisoned. What should we do?"
Chang Jing calmly looked at the person lying on the ground and said indifferently, "Go call an ambulance, I'll check on him."
Bai Mei hurriedly went to carry out the order, while Chang Jing approached the poisoned person, picked up the person's cup and examined and smelled it carefully. He quickly discovered a layer of white residue at the bottom of the cup, which smelled strange.
Chang Jing then examined the symptoms of the poisoned person and quickly confirmed that they had been poisoned.
Her eyes sharpened, and a cold glint flashed in them as she looked at the bespectacled man.
Seeing how thoroughly Chang Jing was examining him, the bespectacled man felt a little uneasy.
Bai Mei rushed back and said that the ambulance had been called, which put his mind at ease.
Bai Mei asked anxiously, "Chang Jing, what exactly happened? Could it really be a problem with the milk tea in the shop?"
Chang Jing shook his head and said solemnly, "It's not a problem with the milk tea; it's deliberate poisoning. The purpose of these people is clearly to ruin the shop's reputation."
Bai Mei was stunned, her eyes widening as she stared at the bespectacled man, her expression shifting from worry to anger! "You did this on purpose?!"
Bai Mei pointed at the bespectacled man and roared, "Are you doing this on purpose?! Trying to kill someone and then frame the shop owner?!"
The bespectacled man looked aggrieved and quickly shook his head in denial: "Miss, you've wronged us! This is our first time at this shop, how would we know there's something wrong with the milk tea? Aren't we victims too, since we were poisoned?"
"A victim?!" Bai Mei scoffed. "You make it sound so real! Chang Jing has already checked; there's white poison residue in the cup. You did this intentionally!"
The bespectacled man feigned terror, exclaiming dramatically, "What?! Someone actually poisoned our milk tea?! That's terrifying! We're the real victims!"
Seeing the bespectacled man still trying to argue, Bai Mei's face turned red with anger. Just as she was about to lash out again, Chang Jing spoke calmly: "Bai Mei, you should call the police first. Although they keep saying they are victims, based on the scene, that's not the case. I believe the police will give a fair judgment."
After listening, Bai Mei agreed, so she dialed 110 and told them everything that had happened.
