Chapter 70 Failure

Chang Guomin was also surprised that Song Huizhen would hire a lawyer to respond to the lawsuit, and he was a little flustered. He thought that he could achieve his goal by scaring the other party.

Seeing Chang Guomin's anxiety, Huang Yulian sneered:

"Do you really think Song Hye-jin will just give up? For so many years, Song Hye-jin has been raising two children on her own. Do you think she would give up custody so easily?"

So you should have expected that the other party would hire a lawyer. Your lawsuit is so serious; Song Hye-jin certainly won't sit idly by.

Upon hearing this, Chang Guomin nearly collapsed from anger.

Seeing this, Huang Yulian immediately gave him some advice:

"Don't panic. The key now is to undermine her testimony. Her biggest advantage is that your son and daughter are on her side. If they testify in court, it will definitely influence the judge's judgment."

"Then, what should we do?" Chang Guomin asked in a panic.

Looking at the cowardly man, Huang Yulian felt extreme contempt, but for the sake of her house, she could only suppress her disgust and continue giving him advice:

“We should find some thugs to kidnap Chang Jing the day before the trial, so that he cannot appear in court to testify the next day.”

Upon hearing this, Chang Guomin thought the idea was brilliant and immediately agreed to do it.

So, Yulian arranged for her thugs to stake out Chang Jing's school, planning to abduct him after school and then keep him under house arrest overnight.

However, Yu Lian underestimated Chang Jing's abilities. Chang Jing, on his way home from school, had already noticed that someone was following him.

Just as the thugs were about to make their move, Chang Jing suddenly dodged to the side and knocked the two men to the ground with a punch and a kick.

Seeing this, the other thugs immediately surrounded Chang Jing. Chang Jing remained calm and collected, surveying his surroundings for an opportunity to attack.

Suddenly, Chang Jing struck one of the men's wrists with the back of his hand, knocking the knife from his hand to the ground.

Chang Jing quickly picked up the knife and shouted at the thugs, "Get out of here, or I'll call the police."

The thugs never expected that this high school student would be so powerful, taking down several of their men single-handedly. If they called the police, wouldn't they have lost both their money and their job?

The thugs quickly helped their fallen companion up and fled.

Chang Jing watched them flee, a cold laugh escaping his lips. He tossed the knife aside and continued walking home.

...

Yu Lian sat in the car, anxiously awaiting news from her subordinates.

Suddenly, one of his thugs called, panicking, "That kid is too good. We were no match for him. He took us all down by himself, and we had to run away. I'm so sorry, the mission failed."

Upon hearing this, Yu Lian nearly dropped her phone. She had never imagined that Chang Jing would be so shrewd and capable.

Yu Lian and Chang Guomin were completely dumbfounded when they heard the thug's report.

They never expected that Chang Jing would become so powerful.

Yu Lian began to regret suggesting the idea, and Chang Guomin was even more remorseful.

The next day, Song Huizhen and her family arrived at court on time. Chang Jing and Chang Ling gave very compelling testimony before the judge.

Yu Lian and Chang Guomin looked at each other in dismay; this attempt had ended in complete failure.

Ultimately, the judge ruled in favor of Song Hye-jin, rejecting Chang Guomin's appeal. Song Hye-jin and her family embraced, radiating happiness, which made Chang Guomin envious.

Yu-Lian and Chang-Guo-Min made a hasty retreat amidst the farcical scenes unfolding outside the courtroom.

...

"Have you seen the Chang family's grandson? I heard he's been hanging out with thugs lately and even got expelled from school for doing bad things."

People on the street whispered among themselves, talking about Chang Decheng's recent scandals.

After Chang Decheng's father, Chang Jianmin, married a girl who was only a few years older than him and became his stepmother, he went out drinking every few days and neglected all family affairs.

Chang Decheng himself was even more of a headache, spending all his time with a group of scoundrels and hooligans, causing trouble and creating problems.

After being caught stealing at school, he not only didn't stop his pranks, but became even more reckless. Eventually, he was suspended from school for probation, but instead of showing any remorse, he simply dropped out.

Faced with such rumors, the neighbors couldn't help but shake their heads.

"At this rate, he's probably doomed."

"Sigh... He seemed quite smart when he was little, I never expected him to turn out like this. It's really hard to believe."

"I feel like his fate was predetermined, but maybe it's because his parents spoiled him since he was a child?"

The neighbors chatted, their faces showing a hint of schadenfreude, which showed that the Chang family wasn't very popular.

In that corner where everyone had abandoned him, Chang Decheng nonchalantly smoked, appearing completely unconcerned...

Lying on the bed in his room, Chang Decheng squinted his eyes, smoking one cigarette after another, immersed in his own world. The drifting smoke surrounded him, and angels and demons seemed to dance within it.

He closed his eyes, letting the thick smoke fill the small room, making his mind hazy and confused.

He thought of his father, who had married his stepmother, the man he was once most proud of, who had now fallen so low as to drown his sorrows in alcohol every day and ignore him completely.

His stepmother, Li Xiaoman, was someone who could completely distance herself from him, and she practically didn't care about his and his sister's lives.

She spends all her time dressing up, never lifts a finger, and can't even cook a decent meal.

The two elderly people in the Chang family were so angry that their eyes were practically blazing with fury, and they scolded Chang Jianmin every day. Even so, Li Xiaoman continued to do as she pleased, completely unconcerned.
