Chapter 35 Leaving (Part 3)

Chapter 35 Leaving (Part 3)

After walking for a while, Lu Xiaoxiao saw the state-owned restaurant. As soon as she entered, she saw Liu Wei, Chen Zhaodi and Zhao Yan sitting there eating noodles. Lu Xiaoxiao ignored them and walked to the window to see that today's servings included egg noodles, dumplings, meat buns and steamed buns, so she ordered a serving of dumplings and five steamed buns and five steamed buns, spending one yuan and twenty cents, a pound of grain coupons and half a pound of meat coupons.

Lu Xiaoxiao took the food to an empty seat and sat down to eat the dumplings, and then she heard Chen Zhaodi say, "Some people start to indulge in hedonism at a young age, and they don't have the spirit of thriftiness at all."

Lu Xiaoxiao picked up the chopsticks and ate the dumplings, ignoring the other person as if she didn't exist. People nowadays are really honest. The dumplings are big, with lots of stuffing, and they are full of juice when you take a bite. There is no cutting of corners at all.

When Chen Zhaodi saw that Lu Xiaoxiao didn't react at all after hearing her words, she got angry. She felt that she was being looked down upon, but she didn't know what to do with Lu Xiaoxiao, so she just stared at Lu Xiaoxiao with her eyes, as if she wanted to eat her alive.

Under Chen Zhaodi's eager gaze, Lu Xiaoxiao slowly finished her dumplings, then took out two pieces of oil paper and wrapped the steamed buns and dumplings in two portions. One of the portions contained two steamed buns and one dumpling, and was for Uncle Liu.

Lu Xiaoxiao carried her things out of the state-owned restaurant and walked towards the ox cart. When she arrived at the place where the ox cart was parked, Lu Xiaoxiao not only saw Uncle Liu, but also saw Chen Qiping, Guan Jinmei, and Liu Xiaomei, three old educated youth sitting on the ox cart, so she smiled at them as a greeting.

Lu Xiaoxiao handed Uncle Liu the lunch she had prepared and said, "Uncle Liu, this is for you. It's still a while before we go back, so eat something."

When Liu Jianguo heard what Lu Xiaoxiao said, he didn't take the food she handed to him. He thought to himself, how could an adult like him eat food from a little kid!

Seeing that Liu Jianguo didn't accept her things, Lu Xiaoxiao could only act like a spoiled child and said, "Uncle Liu, if you don't want to eat, I don't want you to help me move things. You can help me move things but you don't allow a junior like me to buy some food to honor you."

Lu Xiaoxiao borrowed Wang Gang's trick and silently gave herself a thumbs up in her heart.

After hearing what Lu Xiaoxiao said, Liu Jianguo finally took the food. He opened the oil paper bag and saw two white flour buns and a meat bun inside. He quickly said, "One bun is enough for me. You can quickly put away the others and take them home to eat slowly."

Lu Xiaoxiao picked up another large oil-paper bag in her hand and said, "Uncle Liu, look, I still have a big bag here, enough for me to eat for a long time, so you can eat it without worry."

After hearing what Lu Xiaoxiao said, Liu Jianguo did not hand over the food. However, he only ate one steamed bun and then rewrapped it in the oil paper and put it in his coat pocket. He thought that he could give his grandchildren something good to eat when he returned home.

Also, when he gets home, he will ask his wife to take better care of Xiaoxiao. This child is a good one. He has been driving a coach for so many years, and no one has ever thought of buying him food when he is hungry like her.

Lu Xiaoxiao saw that some people had not returned yet. She was not familiar with the three educated youth, so she stood next to Uncle Liu and chatted with him, and learned about the situation of the village from him, in case she encountered any problems in the future and was completely clueless. As the old saying goes, "Know yourself and know your enemy, and you will never be in danger in a hundred battles."

Time passed quickly during the chat. The remaining five educated youths also came back one after another. Lu Xiaoxiao saw that they were carrying large and small bags and had bought a lot of things. She probably bought more because they saw that it was not easy to come out in the middle of winter.

Seeing that everyone had arrived, Uncle Liu prepared to drive back. He asked Lu Xiaoxiao to sit behind him so that the wind would be less. Lu Xiaoxiao naturally smiled and sat down. Not everyone can get such treatment.
