Chapter 74 New Year (I)

Chapter 74 New Year (I)

After leaving the space, Lu Xiaoxiao saw that there was no trace of blood on yesterday's battlefield. A heavy snow had covered them all, leaving only a pure scene, as if nothing had happened before.

After a morning, Lu Xiaoxiao finally reached the foot of the mountain. She looked around and found that there was no one, so she quickly returned to the courtyard.

Lu Xiaoxiao opened the door to the main room and saw that everything in the room was still the same as it was before she left, except for a thin layer of dust.

She rolled up her sleeves and lit both kangs, then found a rag and started cleaning. After more than an hour's work, she finally cleaned the house. Perhaps it was because of her practice, she didn't feel tired at all after cleaning for so long.

Lu Xiaoxiao glanced at her clothes that were dirty from cleaning. She had a mild mysophobia, so she immediately went to the space to take a shower. After the shower, she ate a few buns, then carried a pound of egg cakes, half a pound of fruit candies and Wuliangye bought in Beijing and walked towards the captain's house.

When Lu Xiaoxiao arrived at the captain's house, she saw that the captain and his family were having lunch, so she put the things on the kang table and told the captain that she was back and that these things were New Year gifts for them.

This time, the captain and Aunt Cauliflower did not refuse her gift, but accepted it readily. After chatting with the captain and the others for a while, she learned that Liu Xiaofeng would be home the next day.

When Lu Xiaoxiao was about to tell the captain and the others that she had something to do at home and had to go back first, Aunt Cauliflower patted her thigh and told her to wait, then hurried out of the house.

After a while, Aunt Caihua came in carrying two frozen pork ribs, saying that when the New Year pig was slaughtered, each family could get 8 taels of meat, and the educated youth could get half a pound. Because she said last time that she liked pork rib soup, this time she asked for two ribs but not the meat, hoping that she would not blame her for acting on her own.

Aunt Cauliflower was well-intentioned and was thinking of her. If she still blamed Aunt Cauliflower, she would be really heartless, especially since she really liked spare ribs.

Lu Xiaoxiao thanked Aunt Caihua for helping her get the ribs, then she said goodbye to the captain's family and walked home carrying the ribs.

After returning home, Lu Xiaoxiao thought that Chinese New Year would be the day after tomorrow. She didn't prepare anything because she went up the mountain. Although supplies were scarce in that era, everyone would find ways to make sure their family members had good food on Chinese New Year's Day.

It seems that she will be busy tomorrow to prepare for the New Year’s Eve dinner the day after tomorrow.

Lu Xiaoxiao thought about it and realized that she had nothing to do this afternoon, so she planned to wrap the dumplings for the New Year’s Eve dinner first. Also, she had the whole afternoon, so she could wrap more and save them for later.

After an afternoon of hard work, Lu Xiaoxiao made 300 dumplings with pork and cabbage filling, 300 with pork and shallot filling, 200 with beef and green onion filling, and 200 with mutton and leek filling. Fortunately, she had a machine to knead the dough and press the dumpling wrappers, otherwise she would not be able to make so many dumplings.

Lu Xiaoxiao left twenty of each type of dumplings outside the house to freeze, then took out three of each type of dumplings to save for dinner, and put the rest into the space.

After dinner, Lu Xiaoxiao went to the space to continue practicing. She planned to practice her mental skills at night and practice her skills in the morning. As for the second volume of the Medicine Sutra and the Nine-Turn Return to One Needle, she would learn them when she had time.

The next morning, Lu Xiaoxiao got up and planned to go to the yard to practice her skills. Unexpectedly, when she opened the door of the main room, she saw a thick layer of snow on the ground. It seemed that it snowed heavily last night. She was practicing her skills in the space, so she didn't know.

Since she couldn't practice in the yard, she could only go back to the living room of the space villa to practice. She performed the movements according to the book, but did not feel the externalization of internal energy as described in the book.

She didn't feel anything like the wind coming from her palms or the power coming from her kicks. Instead, she felt like she was dancing some kind of dance.
