Chapter 196 Fat Scraping 3

The next morning, before daybreak, Damei was already waiting in front of Lin Lin's dormitory with the sorted materials.

She did not leave the complex the entire night.

In the silent building, the light in her office was like a lone star in the darkness, shining alone.

The dim light shone on the desk piled with documents, and also illuminated her focused face.

In this long night, the light never left her side, silently accompanying her as she continued to travel through the vast ocean of information.

The morning mist lingered in the air like a veil, bringing a hint of coolness as it brushed against her cheeks, causing her to shrink her neck slightly.

Looking through the window, she seemed lonely yet persistent in the hazy sky.

She raised her hand slightly, revealing her slender wrist, and her eyes fell on the watch dial.

The hands on the dial clearly showed that it was almost seven o'clock. The "tick-tick" sound fell into her ears, as if constantly urging her to knock on the door.

After much consideration, she looked up in the direction of Lin Lin's dormitory, thinking that Lin Lin should have woken up by now.

So, she no longer hesitated, slowly raised her hand, and gently knocked on Lin Lin's door.

The sound of her knocking on the door seemed particularly abrupt in the quiet corridor.

"Knock, knock, knock."

Every knock seemed to hit her own heart, making her inexplicably nervous.

She held the documents tightly in her hands. They were the result of her hard work over the past period of time and the relevant materials and information she had found last night. The edges of the paper were slightly curled up by her pinching.

The covers of these materials already had some obvious wrinkles, which were the result of her rubbing them repeatedly in anxiety countless times.

There was no sound coming from the dormitory, and Damei began to feel a little panicked.

She pressed her ear against the door, trying to catch any sound from inside, but she could hear nothing except her own slightly rapid breathing.

She knocked again, more urgently this time.

"Boom boom boom, boom boom boom."

The slightly hurried rhythm is just like her mood at the moment.

She began to pace in front of the door, and the "tapping" sound of her high heels hitting the ground echoed in the empty corridor.

From time to time, her eyes looked at the information in her hand, then at the closed door, and various thoughts kept flashing through her mind.

What she was most worried about was not that after disturbing the rest of the dean, Lin Lin, Lin Lin would get angry with her or make things difficult for her in her future work.

After all, the problem discovered this time was too urgent.

What she was worried about were the problems she discovered when sorting out the materials tonight.

There are several obvious logical conflicts in the data in the document, just like the undercurrent surging beneath the calm surface of a lake. It seems calm but actually hides a crisis.

Moreover, some of the key information seems to be missing key links, like a pearl necklace with a broken string, unable to fully connect the ideas of the entire project.

She wondered how these problems arose. Was it an oversight during the initial data collection process, or an error in the subsequent compilation process? Or was it intentional? The moment this thought occurred to her, she shuddered.

If it is the former, there may be a chance to make amends, but if it is the latter, the water behind it is too deep.

Just when Damei was almost in despair, the sound of dragging footsteps finally came from inside the door.

Her heart instantly rose to her throat, and her body stiffened unconsciously. She stared at the door without blinking, as if it was the entrance to her destiny.

As the footsteps from inside the door got closer, her heart became more and more uneasy.

She tried to calm herself down and thought about how to explain the problems she had discovered to Dean Lin.

Should I speak frankly and disclose all the problems I have discovered, or should I test the dean's attitude first?

The door creaked open, and Lin Lin stood at the doorway, sleepy-eyed. Seeing Damei, he was startled at first, then frowned and asked, "Damei, it's so early, what happened?"

Damei took a deep breath and looked at Lin Lin, her lips trembling slightly. She was about to speak, but she didn't know where to start. Those questions were like fish bones stuck in her throat, leaving her speechless for a moment.

Lin Lin looked at Damei who seemed to be hesitant to speak, and her brows frowned even deeper. She moved aside to let Damei into the house to speak.

Damei walked into the dormitory. The warmth in the room made her relax a little, but she held the documents in her hand even tighter.

Lin Lin walked to the water dispenser nearby, poured a cup of warm water and handed it to Damei.

He said gently, "Don't be anxious, take your time."

Damei took the cup of water handed to her by Lin Lin, but her trembling hands caused the water to sway back and forth in the cup, and a few drops accidentally splashed onto the documents.

As if she had made a great decision, she placed the information heavily on the table.

The document made a "bang" sound when it touched the table, which seemed particularly abrupt in this room that was as quiet as a vacuum.

The sound was like a thunderclap, breaking the originally quiet and peaceful atmosphere, creating invisible ripples in the air, making people's hearts suddenly tighten.

Lin Lin, who was standing by, was also startled by Damei's sudden action, but seeing her serious expression, Lin Lin did not say anything to disturb her.

Lin Lin frowned with some worry, staring at Damei closely, with a hint of doubt and worry in his eyes.

Damei seemed unaware of this and just moved the cup aside. The originally calm water surface was covered with layers of tiny ripples due to this hasty movement, just like the subtle and tense atmosphere in the room at the moment.

Damei began to search eagerly in the large stack of documents. The rustling sound of the papers rubbing against each other was like sandpaper grinding on one's nerves.

Fine beads of sweat gradually seeped out of her forehead, and her eyes were full of anxiety and concentration.

She pointed out all the problems she had found and said to Lin Lin, "Director, there's a major problem with the patient data in this hospital. The data in these examination reports and several other parts can't be corroborated with each other."

Her voice trembled slightly, but was filled with unquestionable firmness.

"Take the medical records of our dermatology department, for example." As she spoke, she quickly found the problematic patient medical records in her department.

He pointed his finger firmly at one of the data points and said, "I'm very impressed with these people. I was responsible for their diagnosis and treatment, but these records stored in the data room shouldn't have such contradictions."

Her brows furrowed, a hint of anger flashed in her eyes as she said, "It's like trying to put two completely different puzzle pieces together. They just don't fit."

"That critical information was either missing or full of errors, which seriously affected our assessment of the patient's condition and the formulation of subsequent treatment plans."

"Fortunately, these patients have recovered and been discharged. If these errors had led to treatment errors, the consequences would have been disastrous."
