The actor performing downstairs was a man with delicate features.
With their gorgeous appearance, they are truly eye-catching.
When Lou Mu looked at the actor below, he frowned almost imperceptibly.
Tang Nian seemed to be stunned again. She pursed her lips and stared at the audience with murderous intent.
Lou Mu unconsciously coughed twice.
However, Tang Nian was not drawn to his voice and kept all her attention on the actor.
Lou Mu had just raised his hand to wake Tang Nian when Tang Nian suddenly turned around, her emotionless snake eyes staring coldly at Lou Mu.
The drumbeats from below the stage began to intensify, and Tang Nian made her move.
The moment Tang Nian made her move, Lou Mu waved his right hand, and the window slammed shut. He then raised his left arm to block Tang Nian's attacking hand.
"Tang Nian, wake up!"
At this moment, Tang Nian's eyes were bloodshot, and she couldn't hear anything else.
Lou Mu used all his strength to shake Tang Nian away, but controlled his force so as not to hurt her.
Tang Nian took a few steps back to steady herself, then formed her hands into claws and charged towards Lou Mu like an arrow released from a bow.
Lou Mu was quick-witted and agile, instantly transforming into a nimble swallow, skillfully dodging Tang Nian's attacks and attempting to subdue her.
The two men's fists and kicks clashed together, producing a dull thud.
The drumbeats outside the window grew more intense, and Tang Nian's movements became faster and faster.
Lou Mu sighed, seized the opportunity, and pointed his finger directly at Tang Nian's forehead.
A white light appeared, Tang Nian's eyes rolled back, her body went limp, and she collapsed into Lou Mu's arms.
The drumming outside the window had stopped sometime earlier. Tang Nian slowly opened her eyes, feeling a splitting headache.
"What's wrong with me?" She propped herself up and awkwardly twisted her neck.
“You’re being controlled.” Lou Mu turned his face to the window, as if he could see the opera on stage through it. “Do you remember what you saw?”
"I saw Song Niang..." Tang Nian's words were cut short as her eyes widened, and she quickly got up, went to the window, and opened it.
Song Niang?
Is it Song Shiyi?
Lou Mu's ominous premonition grew stronger, and he quickly walked to Tang Nian's side and looked out the window.
The scene being performed on stage was exactly the one that happened before Song Shiyi died.
"Is this person really dead?" Tang Nian was referring to the actor on stage.
As her powers returned, her perception of ghosts grew stronger.
Lou Mu's perception of ghosts wasn't strong, but he could still sense it: "There's no trace of a living person in them."
But the next second, the two saw the drowned "Song Shiyi" stand up and stiffly retreat to the back of the stage.
Suddenly, Tang Nian felt someone staring at her. She looked around the entire first floor, and finally her gaze settled on the dark corner next to the stage.
There stood a clown, his face covered in various paints, with a large drum beside him, staring intently at the two men.
But when Tang Nian blinked again, the clown disappeared into the dark corner.
"Lou Mu, did you see that just now?"
"What did you see?" Lou Mu frowned, somewhat puzzled.
"never mind."
Tang Nian sat back on the couch, leaving the window open; she had lost all interest in listening to this "good show."
“I was just completely immersed in Song Shiyi’s world, with only one thing on my mind: killing Cui Wensong,” she recalled. “So, the person behind this wanted to use me to kill you?”
Lou Mu pondered for a moment: "I don't know, it might be much more than that."
Just then, a burst of cheers suddenly erupted from the field.
Then came excited chatter from next door and downstairs.
"As expected, a pillar of the stage is a pillar of the stage. Young Master Wangshu is truly remarkable."
"Yes, her singing is so much better than that of ordinary actors."
"Indeed, when it comes to watching opera, one should listen to Young Master Wang Shu."
...
"Wangshu..."
Hearing the crowd's discussion, Tang Nian pondered the name Wang Shu with some curiosity.
Lou Mu frowned slightly upon hearing this.
He had also listened to operas when he was in Qingqiu.
Most of the foxes from Qingqiu would give themselves an elegant name, which was not much different from Wangshu.
However, there are very few elegant terms for human actors that are similar to this.
Tang Nian, however, was completely unaware of Lou Mu's dissatisfaction with Wang Shu, her probing gaze lingering on Wang Shu.
The play ended quickly.
Wang Shu stepped down from the stage, and immediately there was a knock on the door.
Then a little girl carrying a tray came out from behind the scenes. As she passed by each private room, someone inside would give her some money as a tip.
Tang Nian generously tipped him a large sum of money.
When she tossed the money bag into the tray, even the little girl glanced at Tang Nian with some surprise.
Tang Nian didn't pay much attention and waved for the girl to leave.
"It's said that Master Tang is most stingy with his own money, but seeing this, it seems the rumors are wrong." Lou Mu, standing to the side, couldn't help but laugh as he looked at Tang Nian's bitter face.
"What are you laughing at?" Tang Nian pouted. If she hadn't wanted to see if spending a fortune could attract Wang Shu, she wouldn't have been so generous.
Lou Mu forced a smile.
He knew what Tang Nian was thinking, but Tang Nian seemed to have forgotten that Fuyao Opera House wanted the two of them to kill each other, and if they failed, how could they not come to make amends?
As people left the downstairs and other private rooms one after another, Tang Nian and Lou Mu remained calmly seated in their private room.
As the two of them had expected, Wang Shu, who was supposed to be behind the scenes, knocked on the door of the private room with the young girl who had left, before she even had a chance to remove her makeup.
Upon seeing Wang Shu, Tang Nian feigned surprise and stood up, asking, "Young Master Wang Shu, what brings you here?"
The other person, who was wearing heavy makeup, smiled slightly upon hearing this and then said, "Of course, I've come to thank Miss Tang."
After speaking, he bowed to Tang Nian.
They seemed completely unaware of the commotion that had occurred upstairs earlier.
Lou Mu sat behind Tang Nian and, seeing this scene before him, tapped his fingers lightly on the table.
Tang Nian quickly got up and helped the person up.
"Young Master Wangshu, there's no need for such formalities. Your performance was truly wonderful, and it's my good fortune to have the opportunity to see it."
Upon hearing this, the other party smiled and did not refuse.
Tang Nian quickly invited the person to sit down.
Although she didn't know what Fuyao Opera House wanted to do, since the other party hadn't broken off all pretense of civility, she would cooperate and put on a show.
Not to mention that Wang Shu in front of us must have a high status in the opera house, and we might be able to find out something from her.
So after Wang Shu sat down, Tang Nian asked the question seemingly casually.
"Does Young Master Wangshu know who sent out the invitations to your theater? It's quite a coincidence that we received these invitations by chance, but we don't know who sent them. We want to express our gratitude, but we don't know who to thank."
After Tang Nian finished speaking, she stared intently at Wang Shu, as if trying to read something from her face.
To everyone's surprise, Wang Shu simply smiled when she heard this.
