Chapter 109 I will take responsibility for you!

Tang Nian was helpless, but she still let Meng Po ravage her face.

"What brings you here this time?" Meng Po whispered in Tang Nian's ear, "The underworld has been quite turbulent lately, so don't come here unless it's absolutely necessary."

Before Tang Nian could answer, a dark figure stood between the two of them.

"Miss Tang, here is what you are looking for."

Fan Wujiu opened his hand, and a round ball emitting a white light floated in his palm.

Before Tang Nian could even take it, Meng Po leaned closer to examine it: "It's a soul. What kind of person would come to the underworld to look for their lost soul?"

As she spoke, her gaze shifted back and forth between Tang Nian and the white ball.

"Oh..." She nodded thoughtfully, her malicious gaze sending a chill down Tang Nian's spine.

Tang Nian grabbed the ball and held it in her hand, casually said goodbye, and quickly ran away.

"Hey! Miss Tang, wait!" Fan Wujiu nodded to Meng Po and quickly chased after Tang Nian. "How are you going to get back if you don't know how to open the Gate of Hell!"

Tang Nian slapped her forehead; how could she have forgotten about this?

Watching Fan Wujiu open the gates of hell for her, Tang Nian patted his shoulder affectionately and turned to leave the underworld.

As soon as she stepped out of the Ghost Gate, she felt a wave of dizziness, but she didn't care and went straight to Lou Mu.

She carefully placed the ball on Lou Mu's chest. Instantly, a blinding white light appeared, and when she opened her eyes again, the white ball had disappeared.

"Senior sister is back so soon? I thought you'd be gone for a day or two."

The young prince sat at the table, playing with the jade bracelet left behind by Ye Liusi.

"I'm not like you, so slow and dawdling." Tang Nian rolled her eyes. "Is this enough for him?"

The young prince nodded: "He'll wake up in a little while."

Thinking that she was the one who caused the loss of her soul, Tang Nian sat on the edge of the bed with some guilt, staring at Lou Mu's face.

"Senior sister, where did you get this jade bracelet from?"

"Ye Liusi gave it to me." Tang Nian didn't even look up. "I'll give it to you if you like it."

The young prince suddenly didn't know how to respond. Did he seem like the kind of person who liked this kind of thing?

"Didn't you notice anything wrong?"

"Is there?" Tang Nian then raised her head, walked to the little prince, and examined the jade bracelet for a long time.

"If you can't tell, then forget it. I'll take this bracelet."

Tang Nian didn't stop her. She teased, "If you like it, just say so. I won't make fun of you."

The young prince clenched and unclenched his fists, finally letting out a haughty snort before pulling out a stack of yellow talismans from his robes and placing them on the table.

"There's nothing for me here, so I'll be leaving now. Here's a stack of talismans for you; use them if you need to find me."

Tang Nian watched the young prince leave the room, still thinking about the jade bracelet. When she turned her head, she saw that Lou Mu had already opened his eyes.

Seeing that Lou Mu wanted to get up, Tang Nian quickly stepped forward to support his back and help him sit up: "How are you? Are you feeling better?"

Tang Nian anxiously asked Lou Mu.

But to everyone's surprise, Lou Mu didn't respond for a long time after Tang Nian asked the question.

There was a look of confusion on his face.

Seeing Lou Mu's unmoved expression, Tang Nian frowned immediately.

Could it be that losing two of its souls has made this fox stupid?

Her sins were truly grave.

Tang Nian cupped Lou Mu's face in her hands, forcing him to look at her, and repeated what she had just said.

Lou Mu still didn't react, he just stared straight at her.

After a long silence, Lou Mu pointed to his ear.

Tang Nian spoke with trembling hands, "Can't you hear what I'm saying?"

Remembering that Lou Mu couldn't hear, she repeated herself using telepathy.

Lou Mu pursed his lips and nodded.

He actually realized he couldn't hear anything as soon as he woke up.

But before he could even get anxious, seeing Tang Nian's worried expression, he felt a pang of heartache.

Unable to resist, he pulled Tang Nian into his arms and gently patted her back.

"It's alright, it's just a minor injury. You might not be able to hear for a while, but you'll definitely recover."

Tang Nian remained unmoved, her eyes instantly reddening.

She was angry with herself.

If she hadn't been controlled by that opera troupe, Lou Mu wouldn't have lost two of his souls for no reason.

If he hadn't lost two of his souls, he wouldn't have suffered such severe injuries in the space, and now he can't even hear anything.

"Lou Mu, I will take responsibility for you."

Tang Nian propped herself up from Lou Mu's embrace, her reddened eyes staring straight into Lou Mu's eyes, her firm voice conveying a message to him.

Lou Mu's eyes lit up, but he immediately lowered his head, looking aggrieved, and said, "This is not good..."

"This incident was caused by me, and I will take full responsibility for it."

Tang Nianke was oblivious to Lou Mu's ulterior motives. She patted her chest and made her decision.

"It's getting late, you should go to sleep first, I'll stay with you."

"It's alright, I'll go sleep on the couch. You don't need to worry about me. Maybe my ears will recover in a few days."

How could Tang Nian bear to let an injured soldier sleep on a couch while she slept in a bed?

She stared at Lou Mu with a stern face and wide eyes.

Unable to resist Tang Nian's insistence, Lou Mu had no choice but to lie back down.

Once Lou Mu's breathing had calmed down, she gently moved a stool to the bedside.

Tang Nian sighed as she watched Lou Mu fall into a deep sleep.

Although Lou Mu didn't care, she couldn't help but care.

She is still not strong enough.

She also needs to speed up the process of collecting merits.

Lost in a jumble of thoughts, Tang Nian's eyelids soon began to droop, and before long she had fallen asleep by Lou Mu's bedside.

Lou Muyou woke up in the middle of the night.

As soon as I opened my eyes, I noticed someone was beside my bed.

He turned around warily and saw Tang Nian sleeping by his bedside.

The initial wariness vanished, replaced by a feeling of warmth.

He reached out and gently touched Tang Nian's face.

He heard Tang Nian let out a soft moan, which startled him so much that he immediately withdrew his hand.

However, seeing Tang Nian curled up on a small stool, looking quite uncomfortable by the bed, Lou Mu frowned slightly.

He cautiously and softly called out Tang Nian's name.

Tang Nian was fast asleep and didn't hear Lou Mu calling her at all.

He thought for a moment, then carried Tang Nian to the bed.

But when he was about to leave, he found that Tang Nian was holding his sleeve tightly in her hand.

Lou Mu reached out to pull, but Tang Nian gripped his hand even tighter.

As he tugged at her sleeve, Tang Nian frowned and seemed to be muttering something.

Lou Mu chuckled softly. Instead of pulling his sleeve back, he gently moved Tang Nian further into the bed.

He then lay down beside her.

But with someone else beside him, and someone he liked at that, Lou Mu lay there stiffly, unable to fall asleep.

He drifted off to sleep just before dawn.

Tang Nian woke up groggily early in the morning.

She sat up and found herself lying in bed.

But she was still half asleep and didn't realize anything was wrong.

She scratched her head; even after a night's sleep, her tinnitus hadn't improved.
