Is Chapter 114 about Song Shiyi?

Tang Nian and Lou Mu had no idea what the two people behind them were thinking.

Tang Nian was busy battling with the candied hawthorns. While munching on the slightly sour hawthorns, she smiled and transmitted her voice, "It's been a long time since I've had candied hawthorns. They taste quite different."

Lou Mu smiled indulgently, secretly clenching his fist inside his sleeve.

"Are you really going to the opera like this?" Lou Mu was still a little worried.

Tang Nian was also worried.

Lou Mu's soul is unstable. If she is controlled again, the two of them will die here today.

But inside the opera house, the sounds of singing and music were everywhere, and for a moment she didn't know what to do.

Does it mean blocking out the five senses?

Just as Tang Nian was considering the feasibility, Lou Mu opened his hand, and a familiar object appeared in his palm.

"This is..." Tang Nian picked up the white jade bead and looked Lou Mu up and down. "I've wanted to ask this for a long time. What is the purpose of this bead? Why can it always be used so perfectly?"

"You really want to know?" Lou Mu asked mysteriously.

Tang Nian nodded vigorously.

"Then I'll tell you after everything has settled down," Lou Mu replied with a smile.

Tang Nian was so angry that her teeth itched, but she couldn't do anything to Lou Mu.

As the two bantered, the doors of the opera house finally opened slowly.

It was the same servant and little girl from yesterday.

The two walked upstairs with ease and found themselves in the private room with the best view.

"I heard that the play over these three days tells a complete story."

Tang Nian's smile didn't reach her eyes.

She didn't know what these people wanted to do, but wasn't it a bit much to use the life of a poor girl as a gimmick?

"Then what is this scene?" Lou Mu leaned out and looked at the several large drums on the stage. "Why are so many large drums being used?"

Tang Nian also peeked out, looking at the row of drums, feeling somewhat uneasy.

"Didn't you say there was a drumbeat when I was being controlled?"

Lou Mu nodded, but had a different thought: "They failed yesterday, so it would be unreasonable for them to be so reckless today."

"Too."

Tang Nian suddenly noticed a familiar figure on the stage, but upon closer inspection, there was no one there.

The people below who were looking for seats did not seem to notice anything unusual.

Tang Nian rubbed her eyes, thinking she must have seen wrong.

The opera performance resumed.

Lou Mu couldn't hear anything, but he was very interested in the play. Together with Tang Nian, he looked out the window at the stage.

He kept a close eye on Tang Nian, and thankfully she wasn't like she was yesterday.

However, things were different; her expression gradually changed from resentment to appreciation.

As the song ended, Tang Nian transmitted her voice, saying, "This play was sung really well."

Lou Mu frowned, about to say something, when he saw Tang Nian turn her head to look at the door.

She stood up and opened the door. The little girl was standing outside, holding a tray with two glasses of wine on it.

"Distinguished guests, this is rice wine brewed by our theater. Please do try it."

Lou Mu only saw the little girl's mouth moving. Then Tang Nian came in with the tray. Before he could close the door, Young Master Wang Shu arrived.

"Gentlemen, this wine is made with the theater's exclusive secret recipe. Drink this cup, and you'll be able to immerse yourself in the play today, and even more so tomorrow."

Although Lou Mu couldn't understand, he could see clearly that Wang Shu and the little girl both wanted them to drink what was in the cup.

Before he could decide how to refuse, Tang Nian raised her glass and drank it all in one gulp.

Thus, both of their gazes were fixed on Lou Mu.

Lou Mu remained silent for a moment, then had no choice but to raise his cup, covering it with his wide sleeves, seemingly drinking it down, but actually spilling it all onto his sleeves.

Wang Shu nodded in satisfaction, exchanged a few pleasantries, and then left the private room.

Tang Nian's strange behavior made Lou Mu hesitant to speak.

Back at the inn, he keenly sensed that there were far fewer people there.

The young prince has disappeared, but he's not in a hurry to look for him. Even if he were to be found now, Tang Nian wouldn't listen.

Lou Mu remained silent the whole way, and Tang Nian seemed completely unaware of it. After washing up, she went to rest on her own.

Lou Mu was a little worried, so he extinguished the candles and lay down on the couch, staring at the sleeping woman on the bed with his eyes open.

He stared for an unknown amount of time, until his eyelids were so heavy he could barely lift them, when suddenly his eyes lit up.

He suddenly opened his eyes, his vision clear.

Tang Nian lit the candle on the table, turned around and walked to the corner, squatted down and took the paper out of the box.

That piece of paper that Tang Nian thought was made of human skin.

He didn't move, but just watched quietly as Tang Nian carefully unfolded the paper, spread it on the table, and then found a pen and ink from some corner.

She seemed to have no recollection of Lou Mu's presence in the room, and was focused on doing something on the paper.

The way she wrote was strangely different from the scribbles she usually wrote.

She didn't even realize when Lou Mu stood behind her.

Lou Mu watched quietly as a woman's face appeared lifelike in Tang Nian's hands.

He knew this woman very well.

It was Song Shiyi.

Seeing Tang Nian trying to stick the still-wet paper to her face, Lou Mu raised his hand, a flash of white light, and the paper was knocked to the ground.

The white jade bead fell to the ground and shattered into powder with a "thud".

Tang Nian closed her previously lifeless eyes tightly and shook her head vigorously.

I opened my eyes to find myself in a complete mess.

"What happened?" she asked, looking at Lou Mu, whose expression was not good.

"How much do you remember? From the beginning of the play until now?"

"I..." As soon as Tang Nian tried to think, she felt as if her head was splitting open, and the pain was unbearable.

Seeing Tang Nian's appearance, Lou Mu didn't press her any further: "Alright, go and rest first, we can talk about other things tomorrow."

After such an incident, Tang Nian was unable to sleep. She lay in bed with her eyes wide open, staring straight at the ceiling beam.

"Lou Mu, what would have happened if I had stuck that paper on?" Tang Nian's voice was exceptionally clear in the quiet night.

But then she suddenly remembered that Lou Mu couldn't hear her, so she chuckled and switched to telepathy.

"Don't overthink it, that kind of thing will never happen." Lou Mu's voice showed no sign of sleepiness as he answered decisively.

Why didn't you stop me?

"They went to great lengths to get you and me to go to the opera. I'm fine, but you fell for it. So naturally, I need to see what they're up to without hurting you."

Lou Mu calmly analyzed, knowing that Tang Nian would understand.

Tang Nian is indeed not the type to argue with Lou Mu over something like this. If it were Lou Mu in this situation, she would have made the same choice.

"In that case, it can only be a problem with those drums. Besides their use as discovered on the first day, there must be other secrets behind them."

For some reason, Tang Nian thought of the clown she had seen for two consecutive days.

That figure and his elusive nature always bothered her.

"Don't overthink it. I'll try to find it when the opera starts tomorrow."
