Chapter 98 The Second Test

Upon hearing her say this, one of the girls looked towards Lou Mu.

Upon seeing Lou Mu's appearance, a look of amazement immediately appeared in the woman's eyes.

Without hesitation, she nodded in agreement, "I have time, I have time."

After she finished speaking, she seemed to realize that she had agreed too readily, so she coughed lightly twice to defend herself, saying, "Speaking of which, I was also planning to go out for a walk. My sister doesn't like noise, and I haven't been able to go out since I'm alone. Since your brother is also going out, we can go together."

Upon hearing this, Tang Nian smiled, completely unaware that she had already sold Lou Mu out.

Tang Nian quickly thanked the girl several more times.

The girl looked at Lou Mu with great enthusiasm, her affection practically written all over her face.

Lou Mu understood Tang Nian's meaning, so he didn't expose her, but he was very unhappy. He suppressed his anger and gave Tang Nian a deep look before leaving.

Looking at Lou Mu's slightly resentful gaze, Tang Nian actually felt a little guilty. She touched the tip of her nose, trying to get Lou Mu's resentment out of her mind.

After Lou Mu and the girl left, Tang Nian finally relaxed a bit. Dealing with a girl was no big deal for her.

She turned to look at the other woman, and remembering the man's voice she had just heard, Tang Nian tentatively asked, "Miss, are there only the two of you in this room?"

In fact, Tang Nian had already thought about it. The fact that the twin sister could openly express her affection for Lou Mu meant that there was probably no man in the room, but that didn't make sense.

Upon hearing Tang Nian's question, the girl nodded without hesitation.

"Of course it's just the two of us sisters. Is there something you need?"

She looked at Tang Nian with some wariness.

Tang Nian shook her head and continued, "No, I just heard what sounded like a man's voice from next door, so I wanted to ask if there was a man in your room."

Upon hearing Tang Nian's words, the girl's previously amiable expression immediately turned displeased.

She frowned and said to Tang Nian with some displeasure, "How could there be a man in this room when the two of us sisters live here? Stop slandering me!"

After saying that, he glanced at Tang Nian with some displeasure.

Tang Nian didn't think she and Lou Mu would have misheard each other's voices, but when facing the girl, she still pretended to be embarrassed, apologized to the girl, and returned to her room.

The girl slammed the door shut.

Tang Nian figured Lou Mu would find out anyway, so she went back to her room to rest for a while. But then the voices from next door started again.

Moreover, this time the two men's voices seemed to be arguing.

Tang Nian suddenly stood up.

The sound was clearly coming from next door.

Thinking of this, Tang Nian hesitated for a moment but then went back to the door next door and knocked.

The girl next door opened the door, and her expression immediately turned somewhat displeased when she saw Tang Nian standing there.

She leaned against the door, looking displeased, and asked Tang Nian, "Is there anything else?"

She always felt that Tang Nian was there to cause her trouble.

Hearing this, Tang Nian wasn't angry. She shook her head and glanced tentatively into the room.

The girl could guess why Tang Nian had come when she saw Tang Nian's appearance.

His face immediately turned cold.

"What, you suspect I'm hiding a man in my room? Let me tell you, there used to only be my sister and me in my room. My sister went out, so it's just me here. Don't even think about smearing my reputation."

After saying that, he glared fiercely at Tang Nian.

I thought Tang Nian would be angry, but to my surprise, after I finished speaking, Tang Nian did not show any anger or embarrassment at being exposed. Instead, she looked very serious, as if she was thinking.

Seeing Tang Nian like this, the girl began to doubt the authenticity of the story.

She coughed lightly twice and tentatively asked, "Did you really hear a man's voice in my room? You didn't mistake the room?"

Seeing her like this, Tang Nian nodded seriously: "No one is staying in the room next door yet."

Then, she told the girl what she had overheard in the room.

After hearing what Tang Nian said, the girl no longer thought Tang Nian was joking.

For a moment, I felt a bit scared.

I glanced into the room and hesitated to go back inside.

Seeing the girl's reaction, Tang Nian realized she had clearly been frightened, and felt a little embarrassed.

She pondered for a moment, then asked the girl, "Have you eaten yet, young lady?"

The girl shook her head.

Tang Nian suggested, "How about we go downstairs? I'll treat you to a meal."

The girl was too scared to go back because she thought there might be a man in her room, but after hearing what Tang Nian said, she didn't hesitate any longer and nodded in agreement.

The two then headed downstairs.

When we sat downstairs, it was lunchtime, and some people had already come in to eat.

The food at this inn must be pretty good, so there are quite a few people eating there.

The waiter was busy taking orders from the customers.

Tang Nian and the girl ordered their food, and the waiter hurriedly left.

She wasn't in a hurry, and said with a smile, "Are you also invited to listen to the opera at Fuyao Opera House, young lady?"

The girl didn't want to speak, but she nodded politely nonetheless.

Tang Nian didn't ask any further questions, but simply looked around.

Most of the people eating here seem to be from out of town.

Why do I say that?

They don't communicate using traditional opera.

This made Tang Nian feel quite comfortable.

She was finally free from that annoying babbling.

Unfortunately, most of these people were just chatting idly, and Tang Nian listened for a while but didn't hear any useful information.

Once the waiter had a little free time, Tang Nian waved to him.

When Xiao Er saw Tang Nian greeting him, he quickly came over.

"Is there anything you need, sir?"

Tang Nian, without any hesitation towards the girl, gently placed a silver ingot on the table.

The waiter looked at the silver on the table, a glint of greed flashing in his eyes.

Tang Nian smiled and pushed the silver towards him again: "Young man, this is our first time visiting this place, so we don't know much about some things in the city. We wanted to ask you for some information."

Upon hearing this, the waiter nodded quickly and slipped the silver into his pocket.

He smiled and said to Tang Nian, "Miss, just ask whatever you want. There's nothing in this city that I don't know."

He was quite confident in his ability to detect information.

Tang Nian breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing this.

Then he inquired about things in the city.

The waiter answered all of Tang Nian's questions, knowing even more than Lou Mu did.

This surprised Tang Nian.

That silver ingot was definitely worth it.
