Chapter 93 The Little Prince Arrives, Jing Yao Returns

"Sister Tang, I'll go after them!"

"Wait..." Before Tang Nian could stop him, Ming Huan had already rushed out and disappeared from Tang Nian's sight.

Tang Nian watched Ming Huan leave helplessly, and could only pray in her heart that he would be alright.

She stepped into the courtyard.

If she wasn't mistaken, the dark figure and the figure she saw from behind at Song's Pharmacy were the same person.

Why did that dark figure run towards Lou Mu's courtyard?

What are you looking for in Lou Mu's room? Or what do you want to put there?

Filled with doubts, Tang Nian pushed open Lou Mu's door.

She had already stepped into the room when she suddenly stopped.

"come out!"

A boy emerged from the bushes nearby, his lips pursed, with two leaves pinned to his hair.

"Senior Sister." The little prince called out to Tang Nian with a fawning expression, then brushed the dirt and fallen leaves off his body with a look of disgust.

Tang Nian couldn't bear to watch any longer, so she half-squatted down to pick leaves for the little prince: "Why have you come to the mortal realm again?"

"Father took on all the work and made me follow you." The little prince stared longingly at the sword in Tang Nian's hand. "Senior sister, isn't this the sword that's always kept in Mother's room? Have you seen Mother?"

"No, this was given to me by my master. Did he have any instructions for me since you came here?"

When she was in the underworld, Yama, the King of Hell, did not tell her that the little prince was coming to the human world.

It's possible that the King of Hell made the decision after she left.

Tang Nian unconsciously tightened her grip on the sword, her fingertips turning white.

The young prince pouted and handed the envelope in his arms to Tang Nian.

Tang Nian didn't look at it immediately. She touched the little prince's hair and put him in her arms.

"Senior sister, I'm really not a child anymore..." The little prince's helpless voice rang out weakly, but Tang Nian pretended not to hear it and rubbed his head again.

Just as the young prince was about to say something more, a voice came from behind him.

"Senior, I started from..."

Tang Nian turned around and saw Jing Yao rushing towards her, but she stopped abruptly.

"Greetings, Miss Tang." Jing Yao stared warily at the young prince. "May I ask, Miss Tang, where did Senior go?"

He was at the city gate.

No sooner had she finished speaking than Jingyao rushed out of the government office in a flurry of activity.

"Jingyao! Tell him to come back as soon as he's done with his work!" Tang Nian had no choice but to shout.

"Okay!"

The young prince shook his head and remarked in an old-fashioned tone, "This fox doesn't look like a fox at all."

"You should read less of those human picture books; they're all made up. How many foxes in Qingqiu and Kunlun are like that?" Tang Nian rolled her eyes at the little prince and went into the room. "Have you found out anything about the ghost witch?"

“The Ghost Witch hasn’t appeared in the Underworld for a long time. I’ve spent a long time gathering some information.” The young prince also came in and casually flipped through the bookshelf. “He seems to have met with an immortal from Kunlun Mountain, but I still don’t have a clue who it is.”

They found nothing useful in the room. When the two came out again, they saw Ming Huan standing blankly in the courtyard, while the dark figure had disappeared.

Seeing this scene, Tang Nian frowned and asked, "Ming Huan, did he run away?"

“He was extremely familiar with the government offices. I followed him around the entire government area… It was my fault. I’ve been too tired lately and failed to stop him.”

Tang Nian sighed upon hearing this, but did not blame Ming Huan.

"You spent the whole night yesterday performing rituals for those corpses, you must be exhausted. Today's events are not your fault, you should get some rest."

Ming Huan nodded upon hearing this.

Tang Nian led Ming Huan to the room that Lou Mu had arranged earlier, and then left with the young prince.

Although they didn't catch the shadowy figure today, Tang Nian had a hunch that the disappearance of the skinned man and the officials was definitely related to this shadowy figure.

It is possible that this is also related to the death of Song Shiyan.

However, Tang Nian has not yet found any clues about this dark figure.

Therefore, they had no choice but to put the matter aside for the time being.

The two arrived at the front yard and saw Lou Mu and Jing Yao returning together.

"nailed it?"

Lou Mu nodded and poured himself a cup of tea.

"Why did he come here?" Lou Mu asked, pointing at the young prince with a displeased expression.

"What? Did I hold you up in some way?" the little prince retorted defiantly, puffing out his cheeks and reaching out his hands for Tang Nian to hug him.

Lou Mu was so angry that his teeth itched.

"Alright, alright, stop fooling around."

Tang Nian felt a slight headache, put the invitation in her arms on the table, and then said to Lou Mu.

"I found this in Song Shiyan's room. The invitation has both of our names on it. Strange things are happening frequently in Nanyu City these days. What do you think?"

At this point, Tang Nian frowned, her worry clearly visible.

No one knows what the Fuyou Opera House in Jingning City is up to, and if one goes there rashly, no one knows what will happen.

Lou Mu thought for a moment after hearing this, and said, "Since they have invited us, let's go. We might as well make the best of it."

"Me! Me! Me too! I want to go!"

The young prince sat on a chair to the side, swinging his little feet and raising his hand enthusiastically in recommendation.

"Senior, I..."

Lou Mu and Tang Nian exchanged a glance but remained silent.

There were still a few days until the date on the invitation, and Tang Nian's magical powers had now recovered, so she no longer needed to travel by carriage.

They decided to investigate the matter of the human skin in the city first.

Such a major incident has occurred in the government; it is naturally not something that can be left unresolved.

Unfortunately, no one found anything.

"Jingyao, why aren't you at the manor today?" Tang Nian stretched and asked curiously.

Jing Yao didn't feel there was anything she couldn't say in front of Tang Nian. Since Tang Nian asked, she would answer.

"My senior sent me a message asking me to go to Jinzhou first, and then come to Nanyu City."

"What are you going to Jinzhou for?" Tang Nian was unaware that Lou Mu had been tricked into going to Jinzhou by Song Shiyan.

“I was asked to investigate Song’s Pharmacy’s purchase of placenta there.” Jing Yao sighed, looking somewhat dejected. “But I found nothing. I asked the clerks at the pharmacy, but they knew nothing.”

Placenta?

Tang Nian immediately thought of the golden toad.

Lou Mu's sudden investigation into this matter—could it be related to the death of the golden toad?

Since Jing Yao didn't know anything else, Tang Nian didn't ask any more questions and changed the subject.

After having dinner and settling the young prince in, Tang Nian arrived at Ming Huan's room.

Minghuan's room was pitch black. She stood at the door for a moment, then raised her hand and knocked.

The room was silent. Just as Tang Nian was about to give up and turn to leave, candlelight was lit inside.

The door was then opened, revealing Ming Huan's still somewhat sleepy face.

Seeing Tang Nian standing at the door, Ming Huan rubbed his eyes and asked, "Sister Tang, is there something you need?"

"I want to ask you, when you went to Kunlun that day, was there anything strange?"

Tang Nian looked Ming Huan up and down, finally stopping at his shoes.
