"Wanqing, don't be afraid." Xie Yun held Zheng Wanqing's hand tightly, his eyes firm and calm. Xie Yun quickly glanced around, and suddenly dragged Zheng Wanqing to the side door.
Just as he rushed into the side door, he heard the footsteps of the man in black approaching, and Xie Yun slammed the door shut.
Zheng Wanqing had sharp eyes and saw a heavy prop box next to her. She pointed at it and shouted, "Yumin, use this!"
Xie Yun turned around and worked with Zheng Wanqing to move the prop box to the front of the door, temporarily blocking the attack of the man in black.
The men in black outside the door started to bang the door recklessly like mad beasts. The bolt groaned in pain under their impact and could break at any time.
Xie Yun looked around again and found a small window in the corner.
"Get out of the window!" He pulled Zheng Wanqing quickly to the window and pushed hard. The window was a little tight, so he clenched his teeth and pushed again, finally opening the window with a "creak".
"You go out first, I'll cover you from behind." Xie Yun said, holding Zheng Wanqing's waist steadily with both hands to help her climb onto the windowsill.
At this moment, the prop box finally couldn't bear the weight and was knocked open by the man in black.
Xie Yun turned around quickly and pulled out a pistol from his waist without hesitation. His movements were clean and neat. He fired several shots at the men in black. The "bang bang" gunshots echoed in the small space, temporarily suppressing their crazy movements.
The man in black was afraid of the gun in Xie Yun's hand and did not dare to rush forward. He could only wander around, looking for an opportunity to attack. Taking advantage of this gap, Xie Yun nimbly turned over and jumped out of the window.
He took Zheng Wanqing's hand, and the two of them ran desperately in the back alley of the hotel. The man in black was chasing them closely behind, and the sound of his footsteps echoed in the silent back alley like a death drum.
The back alley was narrow and dim, like a deep black hole, with uneven ground and full of traces of time. Zheng Wanqing was wearing high heels, and she tripped over a raised stone after running a few steps, and almost fell.
Xie Yun was quick to pick her up and continued running. Xie Yun saw an abandoned factory in front of him, with the door half-closed. He had an idea and rushed into the factory with Zheng Wanqing in his arms.
The factory was filled with an old and decayed smell. Machines and sundries were placed in a disorderly manner, and the iron door made a harsh closing sound behind him.
Xie Yun hid Zheng Wanqing in a wooden box filled with cotton yarn, and pressed his pistol into her trembling hands: "Remember what I taught you." He held her finger on the trigger guard and kissed her between the eyebrows, "Wanqing, you can do it."
The sound of the men in black's leather boots echoed in the empty factory.
After Xie Yun closed the wooden box, he deliberately kicked over an iron barrel with force, making a loud "clang" sound, successfully attracting the attention of the man in black. The man in black heard the sound and immediately chased after the source of the sound. Xie Yun turned left and right in the factory, cleverly using machines and sundries as cover to deal with the man in black. The man in black was confused by him and gradually dispersed.
He took the opportunity to deal with a few lone black-clad men, and just as he was about to go find Zheng Wanqing, he was accidentally attacked from behind by a black-clad man. Xie Yun's arm was stabbed by the black-clad man with a dagger, and warm blood dripped from his fingertips onto the rusty gear. Xie Yun pulled out the dagger violently, and the veins on his hand bulged high due to the force.
He groaned, endured the severe pain in his arm, turned around and fought desperately with the man in black. He was agile, like a brave lion, and used his elbow to hit the man's chin fiercely. With a "crack", the man's jaw was dislocated and he screamed in pain.
Xie Yun returned to the wooden box and gently opened the lid with his bloodstained fingers. He covered Zheng Wanqing's mouth, which was about to scream, with his hand and said softly, "It's me, Wanqing."
Zheng Wanqing's hand that was tightly gripping the gun handle finally relaxed, but her lips were still tightly clenched to prevent herself from sobbing out.
He held her lips in his hands, trying to loosen her teeth, and whispered to her in comfort, "It's okay."
Zheng Wanqing watched Xie Yun's left hand tightly pressing his right arm, blood constantly seeping out from between his fingers, and she felt a sharp pain in her heart. She took off his suit jacket with concern, and then she found that the blood had soaked through his shirt, leaving a large dark bloodstain. Her hand trembled slightly on his arm, and her voice was tearful: "You are injured."
"Don't make any noise." Xie Yun quickly grabbed her wrist, breathing rapidly into her ear, his eyes alertly watching the movements around him.
Before she finished speaking, Zheng Wanqing tore off the fabric of her petticoat without hesitation and bent her head to bandage him carefully.
After the bandage was completed, Xie Yun and Zheng Wanqing quickly fled the factory. A familiar car had been waiting not far away. When it saw them coming out, it immediately honked. The two opened the door and got in. Then the car started quickly and sped away.
"Young Marshal, I'm late." Adjutant Zhou in front said with a guilty look on his face.
"It's okay. Have you found out who it is? Those people don't look like they are from the Green Gang." Xie Yun frowned, a sharp light flashing in his eyes.
"Nothing was found. They are well-trained and don't look like ordinary gang members." Adjutant Zhou replied truthfully.
Xie Yun's eyes flashed with a trace of thought, and he roughly guessed who sent the person. Last month, he intercepted the arms that the Wu faction warlord was transporting to Tianjin...
