Chapter 75 Layout

The iron door of the interrogation room slammed shut behind Sato, making a suffocating sound.

Sato's face looked particularly eerie in the interweaving of light and shadow. His shadow on the wall expanded and shrank from time to time, like a dormant evil beast, staring at the disheveled Natori with vicious eyes.

Natori was roughly pressed on an iron chair by two military policemen, the rusty metal edge cutting deeply into his flesh. The blood clot on his forehead was melted by cold sweat, mixed with fresh blood, dripping along his trembling jawline onto the dirty ground.

With a clang, Sato pulled out the saber from his waist. He lifted Mingdao's chin with the tip of the saber, and the sharp blade was right against the protruding Adam's apple.

"An unarmed scholar..." Sato's voice hissed like a poisonous snake. He leaned forward slightly, and the tip of the knife slid lightly on Natori's throat in rhythm with his words. "How could he escape right under the noses of you good-for-nothings?"

Natori raised his swollen face with difficulty. His left eye was too bloody to open. He barely looked at Sato through the blood. His cracked lips trembled and his voice was hoarse: "Sir... It's Tian Qiguang, that idiot..."

"Pa!" Sato's slap hit Natori's face with such force that the iron chair shook.

Natori's head jerked to one side, his left ear instantly going deaf, and a bloody molar splattered onto the concrete floor.

"Tian Qiangguang is your man!" Sato's roar exploded in the interrogation room, "Your men failed to perform their duties, shouldn't you be held responsible?" As he spoke, he turned his wrist and stabbed the saber into Mingdao's thigh.

Natori's screams were heart-wrenching and the veins on his neck bulged.

The sharp blade pierced through the military pants and penetrated deeply into Natori's muscles. Blood spurted along the groove of the blade onto Sato's military boots.

Natori's body was twitching violently on the iron chair, and he was about to slide to the ground at any time.

"Hold him down." Sato ordered coldly, without a trace of emotion in his voice, as if Natori in front of him was just an ant waiting to be slaughtered.

Two military police immediately stepped forward, one of them held down Natori's twitching shoulder, while the other knelt down and pressed down on his injured leg, making Natori unable to move.

Natori gritted his teeth, blood oozing out from between his teeth: "It's Xie Yun! It must be that old fox Xie Yun..." His voice was intermittent due to the pain, "He is...wanting us to kill each other..."

"Where's the evidence?" Sato leaned down, almost touching Natori's bloody face. He could smell the strong smell of rust in Natori's breath and see his own distorted reflection in the other's pupils.

At this moment, the door of the interrogation room was pushed open. A soldier walked quickly to Sato's side and whispered in his ear. His voice was very low, but Natori still caught a few key words: "Tian Qiguang... is dead..."

Sato's expression suddenly froze, and veins bulged on the back of his hand holding the knife: "Committing suicide out of fear of punishment?" He turned the handle of the knife in his hand and fiercely twisted the thigh flesh of Mingtō.

Natori's face was distorted in severe pain, and cold sweat rolled down like a waterfall.

"Your Excellency, please forgive me!" he shouted hoarsely, "This is tantamount to murder to silence a witness!" He struggled to lean forward, but the gendarme beside him held him down.

"I have a suggestion! I have a suggestion!"

Sato raised his eyebrows, his eyes revealing a hint of impatience. He drew out his saber, ignoring the blood gushing out, and asked directly: "Speak."

"Xie Yun is determined to go against us now," Natori panted and spoke quickly, "Kill him, and Marshal Liu won't say a word."

Sato narrowed his eyes and pressed the saber against Natori's left leg. The tip of the saber had already pierced through the fabric. The cold touch made Natori shudder: "How do we kill him? I don't want to hear any nonsense..."

"Sir!" Mingqu's voice suddenly rose, with a hint of desperate madness, "Xie Yun cares most about his wife! If we..."

Before he could finish his words, Sato's saber had already ruthlessly stabbed into his other thigh.

"Ugh!"

Natori's body suddenly arched up like a shrimp in a hot pot, his ten fingers tightly gripped the armrests of the iron chair, his nails scraping against them with a harsh sound. The severe pain made his eyeballs bulge out, and the bloodshot whites of his eyes almost burst their eye sockets.

Sato admired the famous man's twitching muscles and twisted face: "This little pain is to keep you awake. Contact Zhao Qingshan of the Green Gang. Tell him that as long as Xie Yun is dealt with, the Tianjin dock will be under his control."

After saying this, he drew out his saber, took out a handkerchief from his clothes, and wiped the blade carefully.

He casually threw the blood-stained handkerchief over Natori's face, covering the face that was distorted by pain, and then walked out the door without looking back.

Xie Yun stood at the window of the military building with his hands behind his back, gazing at the city of Tianjin shrouded in darkness.

"Has Madam settled him?" Xie Yun's voice was low, but it made Zhou Lin behind him straighten his back unconsciously, and his expression instantly became solemn.

"As you instructed, the young lady has moved to the villa on Xiafei Road." Zhou Lin took half a step forward and replied.

"Send someone to protect the madam. There cannot be any mistakes." Xie Yun turned around and said.

Zhou Lin understood what he meant, and took out a secret letter from his pocket at the right time, and reported in a low voice: "Mr. Ye replied that the old subordinates can move at any time."

Xie Yun calmly took the letter, his eyes narrowed slightly, as if thinking about the next step: "Where is Zhao Qingshan?"

"Imprisoned in the dungeon."

A sneer appeared on Xie Yun's lips: "Let's go and meet him now."
