Should not know

The sun and the moon change, but the green mountains remain.

There is Mingyue Village on Mingyue Mountain and Yueming Village at the foot of Mingyue Mountain.

In the midst of the chaotic world, Yueming Village is relatively peaceful, and everything is in order, giving it a bit of a Peach Blossom Spring feel.

Just as water overflows when it is full, and the moon wanes when it waxes.

"My dear child, please be patient. Your parents have gone up the mountain to find the medicine fairy. You will be well soon." The white-haired old woman was comforting her granddaughter who was running a fever.

The Medicine Fairy that the villagers are talking about is Baili Yinghua, a doctor in Mingyue Village. She was originally a female doctor in the clinic, but she was framed and fled to Mingyue Mountain. Fortunately, Miss Nie Qing took her in out of her righteousness.

She originally wanted to hide her identity and live a peaceful life, but she still couldn't resist the kindness of a doctor and treated many villagers. She became known as the "Medicine Fairy".

Yinghua hurried down the mountain. The little girl just caught a cold, so he simply prescribed some medicine and gave her a few simple instructions, and the matter was over.

Good medicine tastes bitter, and it's hard for children to swallow. Yinghua left some dragon beard candy for the child to eat.

Before leaving, the old woman gave Medicine Fairy a string of bacon because Medicine Fairy never charged for her medical treatment.

Yinghua had just taken a few steps when he met another villager who called himself Wang Wu. His wife was pregnant and he wanted the Medicine Fairy to take a look.

The pregnant woman's pulse is strong and the fetus is stable. She will give birth in a few months and there should be no major problems. Yinghua gave a few words of advice and then set off to the mountain.

But Wang Wu insisted on getting some medicine from her before he could feel at ease.

"This is my wife's first child, so we must not neglect it. I'd like to ask the Medicine Fairy to prescribe some medicine so we can feel at ease."

His sincere words, like a husband who cares about his wife, moved Yinghua a little, so she prescribed some medicine to strengthen the body.

"You're so confused!" Yinghua returned to the village. After a few words with Feichun, he was scolded. "Who in Yueming Village do we know? There's no such thing as Wang Wu. Don't fall into the trap set by the soldiers."

Yinghua was a slow-paced person, and after hearing this, he paused for a few beats before he suddenly realized what was going on. He slapped his thigh in worry, "Will it be harmful to the mother?"

While it might seem like talking to a deaf person, Yinghua's concerns weren't entirely unfounded. Feichun thought for a moment and sent a small team of three or five people to keep watch over Yueming Village, figuring Wang Wu wouldn't be able to cause any trouble.

I heard that a new bandit suppression officer was transferred from Shuangshe County recently, but I don’t know where he came from.

Just mentioning Shuangshe County, Feichun couldn't help feeling a little lost, especially since it was almost the Mid-Autumn Festival.

Gazing at the bright moon, she filled her glass with wine and raised a toast to the night sky. Every year, on this day, she would simply drink to drown her sorrows.

"Drink less." Helan Zhu took her wine and allowed her to lean on his arms while drunk.

Five years have passed. If you think it’s a long time, everything has changed and nothing has happened; if you think it’s a short time, Feichun has never forgotten someone.

"I'll help you go back." Helan Zhu carried Feichun back to the house.

She murmured, "Azhu... I found a doctor... Qingbai is waiting for me... take me back..."

Haven't you let it go yet? He Lanzhu felt distressed, but had no other choice but to touch her head and agree:

"Okay, I'll take the Second in Command there right away."

“It hurts so much…”

"Does it still hurt now?"

Feichun rubbed his shoulder.

Does the pain from falling off the cliff that day still hurt today?

Now Ye Feichun has become the second in command of Mingyue Village, Nie Qing's right-hand man, and a wanted bandit by the imperial court.

But in this era, the imperial court was little more than a mere formality. Various warlords ruled their own territories, foreign enemies surrounded them, and the people were in a state of panic.

Mingyue Village can only guard Yueming Village.

What's funny is that the imperial court ignored the foreign enemies and rebels and chose to pick on the weak ones like Mingyue Village. It was truly incompetent.

"Yinghua, do you have any hangover soup?"

After settling Feichun down, Helan Zhu went to ask the Medicine Fairy for a bowl of sobering soup.

"Azhu, what else?"

Helan Zhu took the sobering soup but didn't leave. He kept wandering around her door, not knowing what he wanted to say.

"Feichun said it hurts today, I'd like to ask you to take another look."

Everyone in Mingyue Village knew it was a heart disease, incurable. A broken leg could be reattached, but what about an empty heart?

"Then we can snatch a husband back for the second in command!" Nie Qing was used to speaking without restraint.

She sat down between the two of them and said seriously, "I heard that the new bandit suppression officer is quite good-looking. I'll bring her back someday and let Xiaochun see her. She won't be like a widow all day long, young and unmarried."

Yinghua and Helanzhu looked at each other, thinking Nie Qing was joking again. Only Haitang thought seriously and agreed, "Feichun really does like good-looking people. He fell in love with Young Master Liu because of his good looks."

Helan Zhu felt a pang in his heart. In terms of appearance, he was not inferior to Liu Qingbai. How come five years had passed and Feichun still couldn't see him?

"Don't be disappointed." Nie Qing had seen the subtleties between Helan Zhu and Fei Chun since they first met five years ago. He just didn't expect that there would still be no progress in five years. He felt a little disappointed. "I'll matchmake for you another day!"

"Thank you for your kindness, boss. I feel quite comfortable alone." Helan Zhu quickly left Yinghua's yard with the hangover soup. If they stayed any longer, Nie Qing would really have to act as a matchmaker.

When I returned to Feichun's room, she was already mostly sober. She could handle a lot of alcohol, so she felt better after a while. She sat on the edge of the bed, looking into the bronze mirror, gazing at the slightly yellowed pearl pendant on her earlobe.

She used to love dressing up, but now that she has lived in Mingyue Village for a long time, she doesn't like to dress up so much anymore.

In the bronze mirror, Helan Zhu's face soon appeared besides his own. He stepped closer and stood behind her, pinning a red agate and gold hairpin on her head.

"I saw it when I came down the mountain today. I thought it looked nice, so I bought it for you."

Feichun examined it carefully for a moment. The hairpin was exquisitely crafted, so it must have been expensive. After much deliberation, he decided it was inappropriate and returned it to Helanzhu.

"Give it to the girl you like next time."

Helan Zhu watched Jin Zan walk out of the room silently. He knew he would be rejected, so he was not too disappointed. Because he still had time to wait.

Feichun couldn't calm down when he saw Helan Zhu walking away. He sat down at the table, lit a candle, and opened a military book.

The table was next to the window, and outside the window one could see the yard, where a swing was set under an old locust tree.

She seemed to feel that the scene before her should be like this and could only be like this.

Now, there was no new word she didn't recognize. She could read a military manual fluently and write well. She had a thick stack of papers, but she didn't know who to show them to.

If she had not insisted on climbing the mountain that day, but had gone around the city instead, would nothing have happened?

Wouldn't the accident have happened if I hadn't lived in that abandoned temple at the time?

If she hadn't left Liu Qingbai alone in the temple, would he have had a chance of survival?

Unfortunately, there are not so many ifs in life.

The wound on her leg ached faintly, not because Yinghua's medical skills weren't good enough, but because Feichun wouldn't let herself go without pain. Only when she felt pain did she feel alive, and that was what she deserved.

"Qingbai, were you in so much pain at that time?"

She flipped through the pile of little portraits left by Qingbai. Each vivid little figure had been soaked by the rain five years ago, and only a vague outline could be seen. They were found later in a box found in the mountains.

If it weren't for the "turtle picture" on the last page, Feichun would not have dared to recognize that it was Liu Qingbai's box.

Under the continuous rain, even the abandoned temple was crushed by huge rocks, and the corpse was naturally nowhere to be found.

"If he's alive, I want to see him. If he's dead, I want to see his body."

To this day, Ye Feichun still believes that Liu Qingbai may still be alive and well, but they just haven't met.

She put the small statue, the "Turtle Picture" and the pile of her calligraphy together and locked them up with a small lock.

The team sent to Yueming Village to monitor Wang Wu returned with a report, claiming that Wang Wu was not at fault, having suffered a disaster nearby and had come to seek refuge with his aunt with his family. Wang Wu's aunt was indeed a villager of Yueming Village.

Since there were no suspicious points, there was no need to keep an eye on them. Just let Yinghua be more vigilant. Mingyue Village didn't actually have that many people; it was just a small village, otherwise it wouldn't have become the "chicken" to be killed to scare the monkeys in the eyes of the imperial court.

Ye Feichun is still worried about the expenses of the village.

"Or..." Nie Qing had something else to say.

"No." Ye Feichun knew what she was going to say and refused on the spot.

"How do you know what I am going to say?" Nie Qing felt that the boss was wronged. Who in this village would listen to her?

"You want to rob the bandit suppression officer."

Nie Qing curled his lips and started to argue, "He wants to kill us, so we rob him. It's a matter of reciprocity, isn't it? Why wait until his army is at the gate before we fight to the death?"

"Don't take the initiative to provoke the government."

Seeing Feichun was indifferent, Nie Qing provoked, "You didn't hear that the new bandit suppression officer is a pretty boy, so you're kind to women, right?"

Ye Feichun was almost fed up with Nie Qing's words, and finally uttered through gritted teeth: "Let's go! Let's go tonight! I want to see how pretty it is! You've been nagging me till now!"

"I've been waiting for you to say this!" Nie Qing immediately put on his bow and arrow and jumped up excitedly.

For some reason, Feichun always felt that a delicate name like Nie Qing did not suit her.

In the official residence, officers and soldiers reported through the screen:

"Don't worry, sir. Wang Wu's identity is real. No flaws can be found in Mingyue Village."

A vague figure appeared behind the mica stone screen. He was leaning on the couch and it was impossible to tell what he was doing. He seemed to have disheveled hair and untidy clothes, and he seemed to be holding a hairpin in his hand.

The figure stood up, poured a cup of tea, and said only three words lightly: "I understand."

The moon was above the willows, and smoke curled up. Inside the tasseled tent, Liu Qingbai was leaning over to study the defense map.

The candlelight flickered. He was used to being awake late into the night, having endured all these years this way. Finally, he arrived at the foot of Mingyue Mountain. Finally, he was going to meet someone.

A dark shadow flashed outside the window, and I wonder where the thief came from?

Liu Qingbai smiled knowingly, blew out the candle, and lay back on the couch.

The bead curtain was lifted slightly, the tassel curtain on the bed was raised, and a familiar face appeared in front of them.

"It's been a long time."
