Chapter 41 The Use of Stone

Nalan Jingyue walked carefully towards the box in the center of the stone platform. He did not touch the box directly, but took out the tip of his sword and gently opened the lid of the box.

Nothing happened. Looking towards the center of the box, there was nothing there, but one could still make out what had been placed there.

Turning back to Su Yao, he said, "This box is empty!"

"Ah? Nothing?" As he said that, he walked towards the box.

When I leaned closer, I saw that the box was indeed empty.

But looking at the concave shape in the box, why does it seem a little familiar?

Nalan Jingyue interrupted Su Yao's thoughts: "Let's first look around to see if there are other passages. Maybe there is some mechanism."

"Yeah! Okay!" Su Yao followed his instructions and walked to the wall of the stone chamber, touching it and even stepping on the ground twice.

As I searched, I wondered: Why does that shape look so familiar? Where have I seen it before?

Suddenly Su Yao had an idea.

"Ah, I remember where I've seen that shape." As he said that, he took out the stone he bought in Luoxia City from his storage bag.

Nalan Jingyue looked at the stone in her hand and was very surprised. The shape was indeed a bit similar to the concave shape in the box.

Su Yao didn't care about anything and walked to the stone platform, and was about to put the stone into the depression in the box.

"Wait! Be careful, there might be danger. Let me do it!" Then he took the stone from Su Yao without saying a word.

Nalan Jingyue used his eyes to signal her to stand behind him. After seeing her standing obediently, he placed the stone in his hand into the box.

The imagined danger did not appear. Instead, a rattling sound began to be heard in the stone chamber. As the sound disappeared, a hole slowly appeared on the left side of the stone chamber.

The two immediately walked towards the cave entrance, but halfway through, Su Yao seemed to remember something and turned back to pick up the stone in her hand.

She even explained with a smile, "I bought this lucky stone from a street vendor. I didn't expect it to be used as a key by such a coincidence."

Nalan Jingyue didn't say anything else.

After walking through the long corridor, what comes into view is a lush green medicinal field.

Su Yao was about to take two steps forward to investigate, but was surprised to find that the plant she had just thought was a weed was actually a hundred-year-old blood-clotting grass!

Looking forward in the direction of the hemoclotting grass, Su Yao couldn't help but gasp!

This... these are all spiritual medicines, and they are not ordinary spiritual medicines. Most of them are spiritual medicines that are hard to come by outside.

Prunella vulgaris for physical improvement, Chijuzi for temporary spiritual power increase, and Rhizoma Gentianae for refining tendon-strengthening pills...

After carefully observing the growth of the plants, we found that the youngest one was at least a hundred years old, and most of them were over five hundred years old!

"Are you interested in these?" Nalan Jingyue glanced at the herbs indifferently.

"Nonsense! Aren't you interested?" Su Yao resisted the urge to roll her eyes at him.

"Yeah. I'm definitely not interested!"

"What?! No way? There are people who are not interested in these herbs? Do you know how much these herbs are worth?"

"I know." Nalan Jingyue looked at Su Yao's reaction with great interest. Seeing her look of disbelief, he felt much happier!

"You know? You're still not interested even though you know?"

"Well, I have all of these."

Hearing him say this, Su Yao felt relieved. Maybe there were a lot of spiritual medicines in his sect.

"If you don't want it, I'll take it all, okay?" he asked tentatively.

"Well, I'll give them all to you!" Anyway, he didn't enter the secret realm for these things this time.

Then he added, "You can take anything in this underground palace, but just give me one thing!"

Seeing Nalan Jingyue's serious look, Su Yao couldn't help but ring the alarm bell in her heart. Could it be that there is some treasure that is better than other things?

She stared at him suspiciously for a while, then slowly said, "Tell me first, what is it?"

"Soul-Calming Banner!" Nalan Jingyue slowly uttered three words.

Su Yao was instantly horrified: "Soul-Calming Banner, isn't that an evil thing? How could it be in this underground palace? And you are a righteous cultivator, what use is there for this evil thing?"

Seeing Su Yao's entire body immediately on guard against him, Nalan Jingyue just felt a little depressed, and didn't think too much about it.

Sighing softly, Nalan Jingyue spoke again slowly: "Everyone in the world only knows that the Soul-Calming Banner is an evil object, but they don't know that it can nourish the soul and collect residual souls.

The reason why it was listed as an evil object was simply because it fell into the hands of evil cultivators and was used to do many things that angered heaven and man.

It is very important to me, and I need to use it to nourish the soul of someone who is very important to me."

Seeing Nalan Jingyue's serious expression, Su Yao had already believed it for the most part.

"I heard that the Soul-Calming Banner can affect people's minds, right?" Su Yao asked curiously.

"Indeed, that's because many people were killed by evil cultivators using the Soul-Suppressing Banner. Over time,

It's been tainted with a lot of resentment and murderous energy, so this time I borrowed the Wanfa Sect's magical weapon, the Golden Light Curse Seal."

"It seems like you're determined to win this time! Does your Sect Leader know?"

"Of course I know, otherwise it would be difficult to lend out this golden light curse seal."

"Well, that Soul-Calming Banner is of no use to me. If you find it, you can take it for yourself."

"Thank you!" Nalan Jingyue looked at Su Yao with deep eyes.

"Oh, there's no need to thank me. You said you gave me everything else in the underground palace, so why not give me one thing? I should be the one thanking you!"
