Chapter 90 Attacking the Watchtower Too Easy!

Dawn was breaking.

Dongshan Hong has begun leading his team toward the No. 1 watchtower.

"Hopefully I can make it in time for breakfast." Lynn pulled her hat down low.

The group hid in the woods, and Dongshan Hong made a gesture, signaling Yin Lang to scout out the enemy's sentry deployment.

In a flash, Yin Lang climbed up the big tree. He looked out over the checkpoints below the watchtower, where only two guards were sleeping huddled together in the pavilion.

"Ah! There are two people in the pavilion, and no other armed personnel were found," Yin Lang reported as he slid down from the tree.

"Very good, proceed according to plan, and slowly approach!" Dongshan Hong began to lead the team forward.

Everyone kept their bodies low to the ground, trying their best to avoid being exposed. As they arrived at the pavilion, the tense atmosphere intensified!

"The guards are too lax," Lynn complained.

He waved his hand, signaling the soldiers to quietly kill the two sleeping guards.

Logically, the two guards should have taken turns on duty, but for some reason they both fell asleep at the same time.

Now, they will pay a bloody price for their mistakes!

"Ugh!" One of the guards was not killed instantly by the soldier. He clutched his neck, which had been slashed by the sword, but could only let out a small whimper before finally dying in a pool of blood.

Dongshan Hong continued to advance along the wall of the checkpoint, gesturing to Yin Lang opposite him: "Be on alert in the direction of the sentry tower."

He then said to Lynn behind him, "Kill everyone at the checkpoint."

"Second combat team, follow me!"

Dongshan Hong led his team to the watchtower. They had already gripped their weapons, but tried their best to keep their footsteps as quiet as possible.

In the darkness, pairs of eyes vigilantly watch every corner.

"The squad advances stealthily. Yin Lang, be wary of the other rooms on this floor," Dongshan Hong whispered.

The gate to the watchtower was unlocked, which was very strange, and the tower was filled with the smell of alcohol!

"Three teams, disperse and search the rooms." Yin Lang instructed the soldiers behind him to begin searching the rooms.

As doors were pushed open one by one, they finally found a few soldiers who were completely drunk.

They were, of course, killed in their dreams.

"Second team, check; third team, follow up." Dongshan Hong began to stand guard at the second-floor stairwell.

The watchtower is a bit cramped inside, but it is indeed a building designed to defend against demons. Several windows are designed with positions for ballistae to attack, so even high-level demons will suffer!

Unfortunately, the criminals were too complacent and had no chance to use these murder weapons.

"Sir, the top floor inspection is complete," a soldier said as he came down from the third floor.

"Sound." Dongshan Hong gestured for the other person not to speak so loudly.

The watchtower wasn't very tall; even with the top floor, it was only three stories high.

The first floor is the supply and guard area, the second floor is the firepower assembly area, and the third floor is the command and guard area.

The moment the second floor was taken, the third floor was already in the bag!

"Sir, we've captured them all. We've taken down the enemy commander and four guards on the third floor," the second squad reported.

"All of them!?" Dongshan Hong was shocked. He sensed that the number of enemies was not right, and that they were even loosely positioned, allowing them to take the watchtower without any casualties!

As he ascended to the third floor, the ten soldiers had already disarmed five enemy soldiers. They were also shocked by this scene; perhaps because they had just woken up, some of them were even completely bewildered.

"Sir, should we kill him or not?" a soldier asked as he stepped forward.

Dongshan Hong hesitated for a moment. The watchtower had been completely captured, and killing these prisoners would be incredibly easy, but perhaps there was something of greater value?

"Where's Lynn?" Dongshan Hong called out to Yin Lang downstairs.

"He also captured five enemy soldiers, and one member of the sixth squad was slightly injured. The resisters have been killed!" Yin Lang replied.

Dongshan Hong nodded and then gave orders to the team.

"Take them downstairs!"

...

Ten disarmed enemy soldiers were led to the watchtower, where they knelt on the ground, awaiting trial.

"Cough cough..." Lynn covered his mouth and led his team to rejoin the others.

"What should we do?" he asked.

While eating the biscuits he had brought from the camp, Dongshan Hong said, "Wait for the lord to come."

Lynn: "Is the lord coming?"

"Yes." Dongshan Hong nodded: "I've already sent Yin Lang to report."

Before long, Trisna, dressed in silver armor, arrived on horseback, leading the fourth combat squad.

"?" Lynn silently typed a question mark.

Dongshan Hong smiled and quietly put her index finger to her lips, making a "shh" gesture.

"Ha, what a mess." Lynn pulled his hat down and walked to the side.

At this moment, the captured enemy soldiers all looked at Trisna, and the enemy commander stared intently at the mithril longsword in Trisna's hand.

"My lord!" Dongshan Hong placed his hand on his chest and bowed his head in respect to Trisna.

Lynn also bowed slightly to the side.

All the soldiers drew their swords in salute!

"Elsie Tiran, of the Tiran family, daughter of Ellen!" The enemy commander gasped in surprise.

He had never seen the real Elshi. The royals released them from prison, told them about the crests of the various families, and the students they needed to capture alive.

If you capture just one student, their entire hundred-man squad will be pardoned!

However, now that the enemy lord is right in front of him, he has no chance to resist.

That's true... It's not just about our own carelessness, but also about our genuine weakness.

"How many people did you kill?" Trisna asked Dongshan Hong, her head held high on her horse.

“Five people,” Dongshan Hong replied.

She glanced at the ten prisoners and then angrily exclaimed, "That's only fifteen people!"

"Swoosh—" A soldier immediately drew his sword and kicked the enemy commander to the ground, the sword grazing the man's ear and disappearing into the soil.

"No! Don't kill me! Don't kill me!!" the enemy commander roared in terror.

"Tell me! Where are the rest?!" the soldier threatened.

"The front line! We're all at the front line!!" the enemy commander revealed without any backbone.

"General Mo Yuan demanded that we relinquish our military command, and he has dispatched most of the troops from the rear to the front lines!"

"General?" Dongshan Hong asked in confusion.

"He was a general in the Lanting royal family, and was arrested and imprisoned for gathering troops to rebel," the enemy commander revealed.

“That doesn’t sound good,” Lynn commented.

If the enemy is just a simple criminal, that's fine; but murder and arson are only the standard for a low-ranking soldier.

If it were a rebel leader or a military strategist, the difficulty of attacking the city would increase exponentially!

“There will always be a solution, but before that, we need to get rid of the rats here.” Trisna pointed her sword at the enemy commander.

Her words sent shivers down the spines of the surrounding prisoners; no one wanted to face death! Praising death was wrong! It was something the twenty-four-winged angels despised!

"Wait! Don't kill me! Please! Merciful lord!" the enemy commander pleaded, tears streaming down his face.

But the soldier beside him showed no mercy. He raised his longsword high, about to strike. The sword flashed, and the enemy commander closed his eyes in pain.

"bite--"
