Linton looked at the girl in front of him and immediately felt that his luck was really bad, running into that girl right away.
That snow woman's level has reached 40, which is 8 levels higher than his battle treant. How can he possibly fight her?
Fortunately, the Treant's attributes have a slight advantage against water-type attacks. As long as we can figure out the opponent's strengths and weaknesses, we can provide a reference for the other teammates.
That Daisy is only at the mid-level 1, one level below him. If we can subdue her, we might still have a chance to win.
Just as I was thinking of a solution, the starting signal for the match rang out.
"Tree Man, take root!" The three-meter-tall tree man's roots penetrated the stone slab, stabilizing its shape.
Before he could even spawn the treants, ice spikes rushed towards him, startling him so much that he quickly cast a wooden shield to defend himself and commanded the treants to help defend in front.
A barrage of ice spikes rained down on Linton, quickly breaching the treant's newly formed defenses. His magic shield was shattered, and ice spikes struck him.
Not satisfied with that, the snow woman continued to condense ice spikes, focusing her attacks on the treant in front of her. Countless branches were broken, leaving the ground in a mess.
The battle ended quickly, with the referee intervening to protect Linton when he was hit. The poor tree-man, riddled with holes, looked utterly pathetic.
That snow woman was far too violent. Daisy hadn't even made a move, or given a single command, and she had already won the match.
"Brother Fan, that guy is too weak." Xiaoxue, who had won, felt no sense of accomplishment and transmitted her voice apologetically.
"It's okay, you're amazing, Xue'er is so great!"
The spectators were completely stunned. Was this even a fight? It ended way too quickly! Less than 10 seconds into the match, Daisy hadn't even used any magic, and the match was over.
"Wow, that snow woman is terrifying! By the way, can ice spikes really be used like that?"
"That's the Snow Woman, the Ice God's own daughter!"
"Waaaah, so strong and cute, I love it!"
"That tree-man is easy prey; he had no chance at all."
Seeing this, the other competitors on the field began to discuss countermeasures. That snow woman is so unreasonable! Is this how you cast magic?
The most pitiful one was Linton. The ice spikes hurt so much. Luckily, he was wearing a special robe, and luckily the referee reacted quickly enough. Otherwise, he felt he might have been in mortal danger.
Waaah, is this really a competition for lower grades? Why is it so terrifying!
The competition continued, but none of the subsequent matches were as impressive as her performance, until a certain soft, squishy creature appeared.
"Look, the slime has appeared!"
"That girl is quite pretty, but I don't know why she wants to form a contract with a slime!"
"Hehe, that slime is very strong. I heard that its spittle can corrode people's clothes, and it once achieved remarkable feats in Sacred Heart City."
"If that girl's clothes on the other side get blown off, everyone will be in for a treat."
"Really? Then I'll have to open my eyes wider."
Luo Fan looked at the girl in front of him, pondering how to fight. She was clearly a mage, and a fire mage at that.
She looks to be developing quite well. If you were to hit her with an ice pick covered in slime, the little girl would probably cry for a long time.
"Luo Fan, you're not allowed to use the slime on girls!" Ellie quickly reminded him, afraid that he would do something outrageous.
As the long-buried memories gradually resurfaced, she realized she didn't want to see that girl's clothes corroded, especially not in this kind of setting.
"I know, but do you think I'm that kind of person?" Luo Fan replied dismissively.
"Forget it, let's finish this quickly, you don't need to lift a finger!"
"Huh?" Just as Ellie was about to complain, the referee announced the start of the match.
In an instant, the black slime vanished, leaping out of the girl's shadow with a dagger pressed against her throat.
The match is over.
The whole process took less than 3 seconds. The girl was just about to cast a protective spell when she heard the referee announce the result of the match.
However, apart from feeling something pressing on my shoulder, I didn't feel anything else.
Finally, looking at the limp creature perched on her shoulder, waving a black dagger in front of its eyes, she realized she had truly lost.
The loss was inexplicable; they didn't demonstrate any of their abilities.
When did pets become allowed to use weapons?
Waaah~, I really want to cry!
The audience on stage was even more confused this time. They thought it would be a good show, but they didn't expect the battle to end so quickly.
What just happened?
When did that black slime jump onto the opponent? And it's even carrying a weapon?
Where's the promised slime attack?
"What kind of monster is that? Why is it so fast?"
"This is the first time I've ever seen a slime with a weapon. I thought only goblins used them."
"I've learned something new, I'm impressed."
The audience in the stands were buzzing with discussion; no one had expected that a slime could be so agile.
Luo Xiu also changed his attitude. Although he understood what was going on, he still needed to be wary of similar attacks in the future.
Against dark-type enemies, the first thing to do is weaken your own shadow to avoid giving the opponent an opening. But that slime is too fast; it seems easy for it to break through no matter how you defend.
Unless one can erase their own shadow, the capital city does indeed possess similar magical artifacts.
The contestants who were initially thinking about how to defend against the Snow Woman didn't expect that the slime to be even more terrifying. What's more, there were two of those things, in two different colors.
The remaining matches are still going on as normal, but when it comes to who finishes the fastest, Slime's record is still far ahead.
After all, given this situation, other participants will be more aware of the possibility of being ambushed by dark mages.
In the stands, Xianxian was very happy; both of her friends had advanced to the next round.
"Duke, if it were you, how would you defend against that kind of sneak attack?" Caitlin asked. She knew this slime was strong, but she hadn't expected it to be this outrageous; its movements were fluid and seamless.
"Watch its movements and ambush it in your shadow. Besides, that kind of physical attack can't break through your defenses at all," the Duke analyzed calmly.
"But that slime is capable of more than just that. It also stole a batch of scrolls from me before. What if it threw a Tier 6 scroll near you?"
"There's really no way to defend against this. He even bought from you! Is he worried about insufficient firepower?"
"That's what he said. If you anger him, who knows what unexpected things he might do."
"Yes, yes. It's a good thing we can't use scrolls in ranked battles, otherwise it would be troublesome." The Duke laughed as he spoke.
“But there are no such restrictions in the secret realm! It would be so exciting if he went in.” Caitlin seemed to be imagining a fun scenario, and felt a little regretful that she had lost her qualification to enter the secret realm.
The Duke shook his head and said nothing more.
Once back outside the arena, the surrounding competitors dared not approach, fearing that this thing might suddenly appear in front of them with a knife.
What they didn't know was that Luo Fan's body was already incredibly resilient; if it were transformed into spikes, they would be no less powerful than the weapons in his hands.
The high-level magic crystal he had previously acquired further enhanced his physical attributes, making him even more capable of attacking fortified positions. Weapons made of ordinary refined iron could no longer penetrate his defenses.
"Brother Fan, you're amazing!" Xue'er hugged Luo Fan again and said happily.
"That's a given. I can tell the upper limit of this skill level just by making a slight move."
"But that girl's body is really well-endowed, even bigger than Daisy's." Luo Fan felt a little unsatisfied.
Little Snow Girl was confused, but Airi glared at him fiercely.
"You little pervert!"
