Chapter 298 Three Mischiefs

Let's go back to the time when Lilith and Mew left.

After the three women left, they headed straight for the Demon Sealing Tower. Having grown over the past few days, Lilith's spiritual power was now no less than the other two girls', and perhaps even more refined.

Returning to the place I'd lived in for so long, I noticed that security had indeed eased considerably.

The location of the Demon Sealing Tower is sandwiched between the Saint Sisca Empire, the Heifel Empire, and the Crimson Desert, and is only a few dozen kilometers away from Tianshui Lake.

Surrounded by verdant mountains and with babbling brooks nearby, the environment is tranquil and beautiful. The environment remains largely unchanged throughout the year, and a considerable amount of magical energy gathers outside the tower, making it ideal for cultivation.

Besides the nearly 100-meter-tall Demon Sealing Tower, there are several courtyards scattered nearby, which seem to be the living quarters of the guards.

This area, spanning tens of thousands of square kilometers, belongs exclusively to the Demon Sealing Tower. Generally, it is strictly forbidden for others to enter. Only those holy magic masters who come here to retire or powerful figures who conduct research are welcome.

Occupying this central location, the two empires could only attack by choosing either Tianshui Lake or taking a detour through the Crimson Desert. However, the Fisher Empire now openly occupies the Crimson Desert, and the Demon Sealing Tower now borders lands with all three empires.

Late at night, around two or three in the morning, the three of them sneaked to a position close to the tower, ready to attack.

"Does using magic really work?" Lilith asked telepathically, using the darkness to envelop her companions and suppress their auras.

"The magic-suppressing effect of the Demon-Sealing Tower only works inside. Attacking from the outside should have some effect. Anyway, I'm not sure exactly. This is a good opportunity to test it out. If it doesn't work, we'll run!" Melissa explained, still searching for hidden warning arrays nearby.

They have very little time to spare, and once they are discovered or their whereabouts are exposed, things will definitely become extremely dangerous. The three of them have absolutely no chance of escaping from a large group of guards, especially on their own territory.

"Why don't we bomb that foundation and see if we can collapse it!" Lissandra suggested, not wanting to miss out on a good opportunity.

“I think it’s unlikely. This tower has stood for over a thousand years; it must have something unique about it.” Melissa, perched on the tree, examined the tower and rejected the previous suggestion, keeping her attention focused on the tower itself.

"Lilith, what did you see?" Melissa asked curiously, noticing that Lilith's attention was fixed on the tower.

"The tower seems to be able to absorb magic energy from the outside, although it's very slow, but I can sense this change." As he was explaining, he suddenly noticed that the direction indicated by his inscription seemed to have changed slightly.

Could it be that someone found those inscriptions beforehand? If someone else absorbed them first, wouldn't it be even more troublesome if I wanted to get them back?

"Sisters, let's finish this quickly! I sense that some inscriptions within the city have been moved."

"Ah, could there be someone even faster than us?" Lissandra suddenly became anxious, even preparing to gather her magic power and summon her magical pet, Ice Spirit. This was a pure ice-type magical beast with no physical form.

It took them most of the day to sneak over here, and they had to evade other people's pursuit along the way. They finally found a good spot to attack, only to learn this news.

"Let's finish this quickly, fire one shot and we're out!" Melissa said, then summoned her own Vermilion Bird. Under Lilith's cover, the two began preparing their spells.

Before long, ice and fire elements began to gather in large quantities, which finally attracted the attention of the other party, and someone flew towards this side.

Lilith crushed two low-level dark-elemental forbidden spell scrolls and launched the first attack. Not satisfied, she then tore open a low-level ice-elemental and a fire-elemental forbidden spell, covering the other two as they cast even more powerful spells.

In an instant, flames roared on one side and snow danced wildly on the other.

"It's Melissa and the others! Stabilize the magic first, then capture them. Lilith is over here too!" someone shouted. Several holy mages rushed out from the houses below the tower, doing their best to compress the ever-expanding magic to prevent the Demon Sealing Tower from being affected.

But soon, Melissa and Lissandra finished preparing their magic, and a huge meteorite crashed into the center of the Demon Sealing Tower. At the same time, Lissandra's extreme cold ice below continued to extend in that direction, threatening to destroy the Demon Sealing Tower.

Meanwhile, Lilith received a message from Meimei, informing her that Luo Fan had met up with her and was asking when they would arrive.

"Damn it, protect the Demon Sealing Tower first!" Realizing the situation was not right, several Saint Magisters did their best to set up a defensive array, and some even used magic to launch an attack on the meteorite in the sky.

Immediately afterwards, several more guards rushed over, manipulating array plates in their hands, attempting to seal off the magic energy in this area.

"Why are there still so many of them? Let's retreat." Realizing the situation was not right, Lissandra quickly suggested and even took out her spatial magic core.

A large area was sealed off, and a massive amount of divine sense pressed down on them.

After Lilith spammed the word "Help!", she and the two girls retreated frantically, completely ignoring the spell's effects. She had hoped her previous plan would fool some people, but it had no effect whatsoever.

She traversed space and moved around repeatedly, but her opponent always managed to find her through the remaining traces, seemingly having figured out the pattern of their jumps.

"Lilith, it feels like we've been running away ever since we left here!" Lissandra complained as she ran.

After Luo Fan taught Lilith a simple way to use spatial elements, the three of them quickly learned it as well and even prepared an escape route in advance, but the effect did not seem obvious.

"It's because we know too much, especially Lilith," Melissa transmitted as she ran. She also realized that their movements had clearly been detected by the other party.

Also, those guys behind them seemed to know the teleportation range of those spatial magic cores, and they always managed to appear behind them.

If I were really locked up back in that place, I certainly wouldn't be as free as before, and there's a real risk of being strangled.

Lilith, after sending out the message, was also rushing desperately towards the Heifel Empire. If Luo Fan didn't come to their rescue, she planned to take the two of them and charge into the Abyss.

Thinking this, he received a message from Meimei on the communication stone. Luo Fan was coming, and he was bringing a very powerful helper with him.

A formidable helper? Could it be referring to Meimei herself?

Lilith shook her head helplessly and continued to rush forward until she fell into a trap they had set up in advance, with several people blocking their escape route.

A large array firmly restrained the three of them, temporarily rendering the spatial magic cores ineffective.

"Lilith, stop running away and come back to the Demon Sealing Tower with us!"

A mocking voice rang out, accompanied by a dozen or so Saint Mages. They had indeed figured out the maximum teleportation distance of the spatial magic core, and given their relatively fixed escape route, they had set up a trap in advance.

"Dream on! We'd rather die than go back with you!" Lissandra shouted, and dozens of ice spikes flew toward the man at incredible speed.

“Death wouldn’t be so bad!” The man easily blocked Lissandra’s spell. “Even if you die, we can take your divine sense, including the inscriptions, back with us!”

"Lilith, didn't you already master inscription? Why do you seem so weak?"

"If you're so capable, let's have a one-on-one fight!" Lilith replied disdainfully. She vaguely heard Luo Fan's telepathic message, but she didn't know if he would still be able to rescue them all this time.

"Sure, we'll take on the three of you all by ourselves. How about that? Feeling hopeless?"
