Chapter 149 Clever Caitlin

Next, it was time to take stock of the harvest.

All of Ellie's and Daisy's magic bags were inventoried, and they contained quite a few magical materials.

There are also many stone slabs and pillars on Toria's side, which record wind and earth magic and magic circles, including the legacy of the Puppet God Cult.

The combined amount brought back by the three of them was several times more than what the others had brought back.

When the administrator saw Luo Fan pull out four frozen magical beasts, he was dumbfounded. Even the emperor, who came to check the situation, did not understand the little guy's intentions.

Afterwards, Luo Fan thawed Xiao Xue and beat the motionless monster corpse several times, even having the medical staff cast healing spells on it several times.

Then, to everyone's astonishment, the bodies of these magical beasts actually began to move.

Ellie understood the situation; she had witnessed it before on the Duke's fiefdom. Daisy, on the other hand, was making a big fuss and even ran over to take care of the bewildered little bear.

"That's... the cub of the Earth Bear!" someone screamed.

Almost every mage knows how terrifying a fully grown Earth Bear is; it has the power to single-handedly destroy a city. As long as it stands on the ground, it receives a continuous supply of magic.

Most importantly, apart from the secret realm, there are currently no Earth Bears in the outside world. This magical beast is the darling of the Earth God.

The three level 51 Demon Lions became mere foils, less conspicuous.

Luo Fan originally planned to hide the four creatures in the snow and then take them back, but then worried that they might suffocate, which would be a loss.

"Toria, you killed an Earth Bear?" The Emperor looked over curiously, and Caitlin, who had received the news, also ran in at that moment.

I felt much more at ease knowing that all my friends were healthy.

"No, we stole it while the bear was out hunting."

"I see. You guys are really bold."

"Your Majesty, this pet was actually caught by Ellie's slime, but she has already tamed it. What do you think?"

At this moment, Luo Fan was sitting on the bear's head, feeding it several earth-elemental crystal cores. The previously listless bear gradually regained its vitality and even obeyed his commands, walking around.

“Father, let me raise this little fellow,” Caitlin said, recognizing the beast’s formidable reputation.

The emperor really wanted this little one, but unfortunately, he himself was of the water element. Having the little one temporarily raised by his daughter was a good option.

"Alright. But we'll return these stone tablets to you after we've copied all the information on them!"

"Your Majesty, and these three horned lions are our mounts for exploring the secret realm. Can we take them with us?" Toria asked, pointing to the three docile magical beasts beside her.

"No problem, a level 51 horned lion, not bad, you guys have good taste."

After a brief handover, most of the spiritual items were taken away by them, except for a few water-attribute spiritual beads, which were left behind by the emperor.

Near the carriage, Toria rode on her steed, Ada, guarding the area. Inside the carriage, Caitlin held onto Lovan, staring intently at him; she didn't believe this guy had nothing to hide.

Even after searching his ring, they found only a few scrolls and a small pile of earth-type magic cores inside.

Suddenly, she sensed something disturbing her consciousness, requiring her to confirm what it was.

“Your Highness, we can now communicate directly with Luo Fan!” Daisy noticed the atmosphere was a bit awkward and quickly tried to ease the tension.

"Hmm? Really?" She still didn't agree.

"Yes, Luo Fan, quickly connect with His Highness!"

“Your Highness, Luo Fan said he needs your permission!” Ellie explained from the side. Luo Fan had been calling out Caitlin’s name, and seemed somewhat embarrassed.

The moment she agreed, she heard Luo Fan's voice; it was indeed a male voice.

"Caitlyn, why are you so slow to react? I wouldn't hurt you!" Luo Fan twisted his body and ran into Xianxian's arms.

"I don't know if someone else is behind this! Tell me, what good stuff have you hidden this time?"

"Anyway, it will be of great use to you and Xianxian. You'll see when you get back. But don't let it slip out; it's all very confidential information."

"Really?" Caitlin was still a little doubtful when she saw Luo Fan take out a pure water spirit pearl and place it in Xianxian's hand.

"Of course, I hid it all for Xianxian's sake. If you don't believe me, ask Toria; you should be able to believe her, right?"

"Oh, I'll trust you this time. If you don't satisfy me when we get back, I'll confiscate the treasure you hid with Xianxian."

"Ah, Your Highness, you can't do this! Those are all my and Ellie's property!" Luo Fan panicked immediately. He hadn't expected that despite all his calculations, she would still find out.

"Hehe, Ellie, I'll give it to you when we get back. If I hadn't checked those magic bags, I wouldn't have known he had so many treasures hidden away."

“Your Highness, I know Luo Fan has many treasures!” Ellie was puzzled but didn’t see anything wrong with it.

"Really?" Seeing Luo Fan pretending to be dead, Caitlin didn't say anything more, because she had already heard Luo Fan's voice.

"You'll definitely like the records about the laws of water systems."

Caitlin couldn't sit still any longer. The voice from Luo Fan had completely stunned her, and she wished she could rush back immediately.

Upon hearing the news, the nobles in the palace rushed over, only to discover several corpses and a somewhat deranged man.

"What happened? Why are they all dead?"

"They must all be flying magical pets!" the administrator asked again.

"So what if it is? Isn't it easier to escape on a flying mount?"

"Alas, they were caught in the spatial tremors high above and killed by the spatial rift. Professor Gandalf just came over and confirmed that there were indeed very faint traces of a special element on the corpses, which we suspect is spatial element."

Gandalf was the learned old man in the library, whose strength was unfathomable.

"No, don't kill me, don't kill me!" the madman suddenly shouted.

What's wrong with him?

"He witnessed his companions being strangled by space, including his magical pets, and was severely traumatized. He may recover after a period of rest."

"As for his magic bag, we haven't taken inventory of it yet." The administrator continued handling the matter here. After Toria's explanation, he understood why the secret realm was so dangerous.

However, if there were no rank restrictions, those archmages would probably all want to go in and find out.

The nobles exchanged bewildered glances, never expecting things to turn out this way; their entire army had been wiped out. Before they arrived, they already knew that Toria's group was unharmed and had even brought back a live Earth Bear cub.

Why did they suffer such heavy losses while they returned safely? And the spatial rings they took with them before setting off—they didn't even bring them back.

"Manager, we don't believe your investigation results. We will take him back for further questioning."

"If we find out that this is not the reason, we will not let this go."

"Heh, believe it or not. Men, investigate that guy's magic pouch, lest these fellows complain again!"

"How dare you!" Someone tried to stop the servant's actions, and the administrator immediately drew his weapon.

After taking stock of all the spoils, the nobles slowly retreated from the palace, carrying the corpses and the meager amount of spiritual materials.

"My lord, what should we do with that sealed Bloodthirsty Demon Tree?" Based on Toria's account, they already knew the name of the ordinary sapling.

"Leave it to His Majesty! You all clean up this place, I'm going to report to His Majesty."

"yes!"
