Inside the room, a group of people surrounded Freya's Thunderbird, studying it for a while, until the old man finally figured out the reason.
As she said, the Thunderbird absorbed almost the entire inscription, so there should be no obstacle to breaking through level 70 in the future. At the same time, it replenished her magic power, which is why she was able to complete this transformation.
Now her strength far surpasses that of her peers, making her the pride of the family.
"Freya, why don't you come back? You can lead the team this time," a middle-aged man interjected.
"No, I'm only level 1. You can do it, Uncle. Besides, I've already promised the princess that I'm still her knight commander!" As she spoke, she pulled out a brand-new knight commander's medal, which Caitlin had given her that morning.
"In that case, forget it. We'll handle your engagement. Are you going to the ring now?"
"Of course, I'll kill that bastard and show him what I'm capable of!"
Sure enough, this girl still has such a bad temper; she's probably been holding it in for a long time.
"Don't kill anyone. We can't afford any problems with our relationship with the Temple of Vulcan," the middle-aged man warned.
"I know what I'm doing. How about you come with me, Uncle?"
"I'll go. The rest of you, focus on your cultivation!"
In comparison, the other descendants become mere foils, which makes the old man angry.
In the open space near the arena, many adventurers came and went, and quite a few people set up stalls.
Inside the magical barrier in the arena, a fight was taking place, between powerful archmages, and many spectators cheered them on.
In mid-air, many people were still floating, watching the battle below without much interest.
"Wow, what a young archmage, and a beautiful one at that!" Someone noticed Freya's entrance, and many people turned their attention to her.
"Sigh, the lightning element from the Shining family is not easy to deal with!"
"Yes, their destructive power is too great. I've heard that this race also has a bad temper, just a bit better than those guys from the Temple of Fire."
"Yeah, anyone who marries her will be electrocuted and left half-paralyzed!"
Laughter could be heard continuously from mid-air.
The guys from the Temple of Vulcan seemed to have noticed what was happening. A handsome young man with red hair rushed over, followed by an old man.
"You must be Miss Freya, it's a pleasure to meet you!" The other person even extended their arm.
Freya sized him up for a while; his level was about the same as hers before, and his talent was decent. Hearing his question, she simply nodded, not paying much attention to his constipated expression.
The two old men started chatting, but the other man's expression wasn't good, after all, Freya was indeed too outstanding.
"So, you're planning to call off the engagement?" The red-haired man immediately wanted to curse.
"Heh, we're not even engaged yet, so how can you call off the engagement! If you reached my current level, I might consider it. But at your current level, it'll probably take at least another 10 years." Freya laughed dismissively.
"If you want to marry me, you at least can't be weaker than me, right? How about we have a competition later?"
The man, who had been excited, immediately turned pale.
Wow, this feels like a slap in the face.
The domineering female CEO, bullying this young office worker, is she about to utter some profound words?
Luo Fan secretly complained, not daring to make any unnecessary small moves.
"Let's compete then. Don't think you're something special just because you've made a breakthrough." The red-haired man forced himself to remain calm and glared angrily at her.
"Then show me how you break through! Besides, we've never met before, and we have no connection whatsoever!"
"If you agree to marry into the family, the marriage can be discussed again!" Freya's grandfather interjected, delivering the final blow.
The red-haired man suddenly felt a surge of rage, suppressing his murderous urge.
Meanwhile, many people were watching the show, as such a juicy tidbit was a rare sight. Although both were prodigies, the other's strength was clearly a level above yours.
"We'll discuss this later, let's watch the competition first!" another old man advised, knowing that the other party would change their mind. If it were someone as outstanding as their own family member, they probably wouldn't be willing to marry her off.
Who would want to see their best talent become an asset to another company just because of a previous verbal agreement?
"Grandpa, I challenge her to a duel!" the man roared.
"Let's compete! Whoever loses is a coward!" Freya wasn't going to put up with him. She hadn't had a proper fight since her breakthrough and didn't even know what it was like to be a Magister.
Neither side had a good temper, which excited the onlookers even more, and they immediately started imagining all sorts of scenarios.
A large family, a broken engagement, young men and women—these elements combined to create a short story that is far more exciting than the battles off the field, despite the obvious difference in strength.
But which prodigy can't fight someone of a higher level? Wouldn't it be even more exciting if both sides were prodigies?
Luo Fan was also looking forward to it. Should he hide somewhere else? He'd have to ask the girls downstairs later.
In the next arena, the wind-type and ice-type were evenly matched, neither summoning any pets, resulting in a very balanced battle. In the end, the wind-type had a slight advantage, forcing its opponent to surrender.
Once the damaged site was repaired by the staff, Freya flew over and was immediately greeted with cheers.
"Holy crap, finally a mage has entered the fray! I wonder who her opponent is!"
"This is going to be good. Where's her opponent? Hurry up and fly down!"
Amidst everyone's anticipation, a fiery red figure rushed down, but it turned out not to be the Archmage, instantly dampening everyone's enthusiasm by more than half.
The situation was only made more lively after the story was embellished and spread, with some people even cheering on the red-haired man.
The girl was disguised and wasn't as stunning as some people thought, but that actually sparked more discussion.
"I love the annulment storyline, I really hope the red-haired guy wins."
"Me too, I really look forward to the red-haired guy beating up the black-haired girl!"
"It's obviously because that girl doesn't like that red-haired guy, but he's so handsome!"
"They're all from big families. It's probably because the red-haired guy had his eye on another girl and his fiancée found out, which is why they started fighting."
Freya chuckled as she watched the other party's furious expression, then summoned her Thunderbird, once again shocking everyone present.
"This means Red Hair has no chance!"
"Oh, my poor red-haired boy, I really want to comfort him!" A middle-aged woman's eyes sparkled.
Seeing this, Red Hair also summoned his pet, a huge fiery mammoth, whose roar ignited the enthusiasm of all the spectators.
"A level 70 Flame Mammoth versus a level 68 Thunderbird doesn't seem to be that much of a difference!"
"However, that Thunderbird is clearly more reserved than the Mammoth, so the girl probably has a better chance of winning."
"What a mighty mammoth! That girl's Thunderbird is clearly much weaker. Go Red Hair!"
Several more archmages arrived at the protective array to maintain its stability.
Why did these two bring their pets out too? Can't they just have a simple spar like before?
We have to make them pay an extra maintenance fee, otherwise they'll go bankrupt!
In the venue.
"This is your trump card? It doesn't look that great! I bet you've been stuck at level 70 for a while now?"
"At least it'll be stronger than your Thunderbird!" Flames erupted around the red-haired man as he jumped onto the mammoth.
"How about I let my Thunderbird test your strength first, so you won't accuse me of bullying the weak!" Freya said with interest while hovering in mid-air, listening to Luo Fan's suggestion.
"Freya, you should have directed Gilgamesh to beat the opponent. It's so boring to do it yourself, and you don't feel any sense of accomplishment!"
"Besides, Shan Shan's level is lower than his, so this way we can strike him down to the greatest extent possible."
"But aren't you afraid that he'll eventually agree to marry into the family? He must have seen your real face just now, right?"
Freya didn't reply, and it's unclear what she was planning.
