Chapter 34 Blood of the Ghost Bat

After some fuss, the Duchess took Ellie and Liz back to their room and only came out after seeing that their breathing had stabilized.

As for Rovellan, the two of them didn't know what to do, since apart from the few people who were asleep, they didn't know what had happened inside the magic circle.

If Rovellan really succeeds, it seems there's nothing they can do. The Duke and Duchess returned to the hall after finishing their business, without saying a word.

Luo Fan's thoughts were in disarray. During the attack just now, he saw many of Luo Fulan's memories, which seemed to contain many incredible things.

"Tsk tsk, isn't this woman a bit too audacious, playing around like this! Oh, she even has connections with the Temple of Gods and Demons? Interesting!"

"Brother Fan, what are you talking about? What is the Temple of Gods and Demons?" Xiaoxue asked curiously, hugging her.

"Little girl, don't ask questions, it's bad for your health!"

"Huh~?"

"Let's go find the Duke, that woman is in big trouble!"

"Oh~!"

Inside the hall, Luo Fan saw two people sitting by the fire, the atmosphere seemingly somewhat somber.

"Could that woman have some powerful backing? Never mind that, business is more important."

"Xiaoxue, you were looking for me?"

Xiaoxue walked over, holding up a small sign with several words written on it. The slime was perched on her shoulder, still quite conspicuous.

"That woman is seriously suspicious. Please examine her magic ring, sir."

"Was it the slime that found it?"

Xiaoxue nodded, then flipped over the card.

"It's related to the Temple of Gods and Demons!"

The Duke jumped up and hurriedly ran towards the guest room, with the Lady following closely behind.

Luo Fan's clone was already waiting there. When he realized that the woman hadn't woken up yet, he and Xiao Xue slowly followed her.

A moment later, the Duke burst in and quickly spotted the spatial ring on Rovelan's hand.

Spatial rings offer far greater privacy and concealment than magic bags, but they are also extremely expensive. Opening one requires the host's consent or the disruption of any associated magic array.

"Can it be opened?" the Duchess asked curiously.

"No, it's set with a magical password!" The Duke took off the ring, examined it for a moment, and sighed.

Then, Xiaoxue held up a sign.

"Men are all big pigs."

"Is this... a secret message?"

Xiaoxue nodded.

How did that slime know? The thought flashed through my mind, but confirming the information about the ring was more important at the moment.

I'm so sorry, Roviran!

The ring was broken, perhaps because all possessions had been invaded. Lovran on the bed struggled painfully for a moment, then calmed down again.

The two people beside them stopped what they were doing, held their breath, and stared motionlessly at the bed like two thieves stealing something. Once they calmed down, they looked at each other, smiled, and breathed a sigh of relief.

"This Duke doesn't have the talent to be a thief!" Luo Fan muttered to himself as he watched, while Xiao Xue giggled.

"This is... the trigger for the Death Curse! How could she have something like this?" The Duke recognized it as a bottle of gray pills.

He also saw a booklet about the Temple of Gods and Demons, which recorded many secret techniques of the Temple of Gods and Demons, including the methods of casting and breaking the Death Curse.

"What is this?" The Duke discovered an exquisite notebook with his own name crossed out on it.

"These are the sexual preferences of so many people. How did she know?" The Duke felt like he was being cuckolded. Luckily, the two of them weren't together.

"Of course I'll do it myself! Quick, look for it!" Luo Fan lay on the side, watching the Duke pull out all sorts of women's clothing, which looked quite amusing.

Even the Duchess standing next to her blushed with embarrassment.

"This is the list of those controlled by Sacred Heart City!" The Duke took out another scroll and saw more than a dozen names, including information such as their hidden families and strength.

After finding some correspondence, the Duke stopped what he was doing.

"Hey, keep looking! We haven't found that thing yet!"

Xiaoxue stepped forward to help, and took out a small box. When she opened it, it was full of purple gold coins, numbering over a hundred.

"She's so rich?" Even the Duchess was stunned.

Then, Xiaoxue took out a bottle of black liquid, the contents of which were unclear. Finally, she pulled out several light magic books, several magic sealing scrolls, all of which were third or fourth tier, and a fifth-tier protective spell.

Luo Fan stared at the black liquid with longing, then took it and uncorked it.

A strong, pungent smell of blood quickly spread, and Luo Fan was certain that it was the blood of some kind of abyssal monster, something that would be of great help to him.

The Duke frowned, trying to discern what it was; the smell might slightly affect one's senses. The Duchess, however, was the first to react.

"This is the culmination of Ghost Bat's efforts!"

"Ghost Bats? Aren't those creatures from the Abyss? How come they're here?"

"I don't know, but this is the magical medium for casting the Mind Control Spell."

While the two were discussing, Luo Fan had already absorbed all the blood, feeling his entire soul tremble and experience a feeling of flying.

"Ah, no! This is crucial evidence!" The Duke grabbed it, but the bottle was already empty. Only a small amount remained on the cap, which he snatched away.

"Fortunately, some was left. I didn't expect her to have colluded with the Demon Abyss; that makes things serious."

"My dear, perhaps we should hand her over to the secret agents. We can't keep this under wraps!" The Duchess quickly realized what was happening and advised with great concern.

"Then we can't let her wake up for now. I'll contact the city lord. You go and check everyone in the castle; I'm worried she might control others." After saying this, the Duke took the evidence he had gathered and hurriedly left.

Under Luo Fan's instructions, Xiao Xue directly put the purple-gold coins, books, and magic scrolls into her magic bag, leaving the Duchess stunned.

"Hehe, I made a fortune this time! Xue'er, I'll buy you nice things from now on!"

"Yes, I love my brother the most!"

After sleeping for an unknown amount of time, Ellie finally woke up, though her head still ached a little. Liz was holding her, blinking her pale eyes every now and then.

"Liz, are you alright?"

"It's okay, sister. I think I just dreamed that I could talk to Luo Fan."

"It shouldn't be a dream. Wait, where's Luo Fan?" Ellie looked around but couldn't find her pet. She sensed it and found it was nearby.

Soon, Luo Fan ran over and slipped into Lis's arms again.

"Lise, can you hear me?"

"Ah~! It really is Brother Fan's voice, exactly the same as in my dream." Liz said excitedly, pinching the slime's body.

"Great, the effect is still there, so I can chat with you from now on."

"Mmm~"

"Luo Fan, you're not allowed to bully Liss, or I'll beat you up! By the way, what happened to that woman?"

“She was taken away by a spy. That guy is connected to the God and Demon Temple behind the Death Curse. She probably came here to lure you away. But then she saw Lis’s talent and started targeting her instead.”

"Huh? Why are those people always staring at me?!"

"Who told you to be the chosen one?" Luo Fan couldn't help but complain. The recent series of events made him feel that Ai Li had been caught in a huge vortex.

The Duke is already on his way to Sacred Heart City. He doesn't know if the castle is safe. Luo Fan is unsure how many enemies are lurking in the shadows. For now, it's best to play it safe and develop his strength.

Hopefully, things will have stabilized by the time I return to Sacred Heart City. The uproar caused by this incident is probably quite significant.

Daisy was still sleeping soundly beside the bed. She only woke up when she heard Ellie's voice, though she was still a little listless.

"Ellie, I'm so glad you're alright!"

Luo Fan discovered that Daisy had cried countless times in just a few days, and once even her life was in danger. Her eyes were still red, making her look quite pitiful.

"Daisy, thank you!" Ignoring Luo Fan's analysis, Ellie got up and hugged her.
