Chapter 253 The Hunting Ground

"A purer Wood Spirit Liquid?" Luo Fan glanced at it for a moment, then put it away, knowing he might encounter this situation again later.

His goal was the final fountain of life, and such a reward held no appeal for him.

Back with Caitlin, the group set off again, and surprisingly, the grass fairies took the initiative to avoid them.

As a result, many people looked on with admiration at Caitlin. As expected of Her Highness, she saw the problem at a glance and adopted the most appropriate response.

"Luo Fan, what exactly happened?"

Neither of them heard the tree spirit's voice, nor did Little Bell. Could it be because she had given the most?

Anyway, gaining the favor of the tree spirit is at least the right direction. Now we just have to see what kind of trials we will encounter.

"I feel like there's a themed quest in the secret realm, where you help clean out the malignant tumors inside, and you'll get a reward for completing it."

Luo Fan explained, and also took out the drop of Wood Spirit Liquid, which was still brimming with vitality.

"Such pure energy, it looks a bit like the Fountain of Life." Caitlin stared at it for a while. The Fountain of Life didn't seem to be this color; it was mixed with a lot of wood-type energy.

"Let's go. Now that we know the real rules, things will be much easier."

The group passed through the area smoothly and then entered a lush forest, filled with towering trees and dense vines.

Luo Fan had just explored several places, and almost all of them had similar environments, suggesting that this floor was a central point.

They suddenly appeared on the branches of a large tree. The weight of Xuanwu broke the branches, and the group fell towards the ground. Several mages worked together to stop the descent, and Xuanwu finally came to rest on an even thicker trunk.

"This should be the outer edge of the middle zone!" Caitlin surveyed her surroundings. The dense foliage obscured her view, making it difficult to see what was ahead.

The accompanying mage began scanning the surrounding area, while Luo Fan continued studying the large trees.

If all of these things were tree spirits, that would be quite a sight. Fortunately, there were almost no magical beasts to be seen around; it was just a simple dense forest.

"so?"

“This is a transit point; other teams will likely pass through here, so we need to be extra careful,” Caitlin explained, pulling out her staff.

At this point, Xuanwu was no longer suitable as a mount. The group regrouped into a small team, with the mage scouting ahead, and slowly advancing along the intersecting branches, led by Huoyu.

This place is truly a treasure trove. After walking for a short while, they discovered many excellent spiritual materials, including wood, water, and earth elements. Many of the adventurers who had been following them voluntarily broke away from the group and ventured deeper into the dense forest.

"That's even better. I reckon our location has already been leaked by someone. From now on, we'll proceed slowly as planned, and hunt down other teams along the way."

Luo Fan sat on her shoulder and explored the surrounding space. Sure enough, there were still many spatial traps, and they were all well disguised.

The previous methods probably won't work on this level. The space here is noticeably more solid, and only Luo Fan can perceive the difference.

"What about these people?"

"Let's eliminate all those we're still tracking; keeping them around is pointless."

"Yes, that's what I think too."

Once they finished their plan, those lackeys were doomed. As for the outcome, Luo Fan didn't care too much. After all, this was still a secret realm; killing a few spies was just a matter of time.

"Luo Fan, I finally figured out all of Gilgamesh's magic channels! Isn't that amazing!" Freya ran over and grabbed Luo Fan, proudly showing off.

"Congratulations!" Luo Fan's attitude was perfunctory. At this moment, he was using his divine sense to search this vast area.

A level 75 Void Eater? A level 72 Demon Abyss Tree Serpent?

Oh, and there's another powerful group, led by that wood elf, though they're a bit far away.

Ah, I've found you, the Fabings family. You've gotten involved with other forces, and you're heading this way. Those baits were indeed quite effective; I just wonder if there are any other forces involved.

Luo Fan quickly scanned the area with his divine sense, and those archmages were completely unaware of his attention, instead becoming his prey.

There were three other forces, but they were too far apart for Luo Fan, the leader, to recognize.

Those guys from the Temple of Fire are too weak, haven't they gotten in yet?

Just then, Freya grabbed his body and shook him, which completely brought his attention back to his body.

"What's wrong now?"

"Can I try extracting the inscriptions now?"

"We're about to fight, what's the point of researching inscriptions now?" Luo Fan complained irritably, which attracted Freya's attention.

"A fight? Are enemies coming?" I looked around; it was quite quiet.

“The Fabings family must have discovered our presence and is bringing a large group of people here. Inside,” Luo Fan continued probing the key target, “there’s also Anya, who should be part of the Heifel Empire’s forces.”

"How did they get mixed up together? Wait, her pet has broken through to level 50!"

Seemingly sensing his probing, the demon child curiously glanced over, but it didn't attract the attention of anyone else.

Is that thing really that sensitive?

"Caitlyn, the Third Prince who tried to assassinate you before is also in the team!"

"Wow, let's rush over there and kill him!" Freya interjected, looking full of fighting spirit.

"Do you think you can beat them? They have dozens of archmages alone!"

Freya immediately deflated, while Caitlin looked at Luo Fan with great interest, seemingly without any fear.

"What are you planning to do? A sneak attack, perhaps?"

"They've split up now. The vanguard has already set off, with over thirty archmages. What a formidable lineup!" Luo Fan teased.

Freya, who was standing to the side, came to her senses. Luo Fan didn't seem afraid at all. Could he possibly handle such a situation?

"Or will you do it yourself?"

"How about you have our mages distract them a bit?"

With these people following him, Luo Fan always had to be more careful when carrying out his tasks. If it weren't for the emperor's extreme distrust, he wouldn't have wanted to bring this group along.

Isn't it a wonderful thing for the whole family to come out for a happy picnic?

"It's not impossible, but we'll have to give them that crystal. You should have a way to get out, right?"

"Of course, I've pretty much figured this place out, getting out will be a piece of cake."

The two sides quickly reached an agreement, and Luo Fan slipped away.

After a brief conversation with Sean, Caitlin realized there was danger ahead and decisively chose to act as bait.

The team split into two: Sean led the rest of the troops forward as planned, while Caitlin led the other girls back to the ground to sneak around in the shadows.

Compared to the above, there are fewer traps below, but there is still a risk of encountering high-level magical beasts.

Although Sean still had some doubts about Caitlin's arrangement, he readily agreed.

After all, His Highness must have already planned a backup plan for this arrangement, but little did he know that Caitlin simply wanted to shake them off.
