Chapter 28 Ice Cave

Early in the morning, Ellie was all ready and set off with Daisy, while Liz stayed in the castle.

Following the mountain path upwards, the group quickly reached the summit and saw the continuous snow-capped mountains stretching into the distance.

"The same rules apply: whoever hunts the heaviest magical beast wins!" The Duke, riding a white giant wolf, issued the order with great confidence.

“I have already sent people to scout ahead. There is a wolf den on the left, with a few Frost Wolves around level 20; there is a mountain stream on the right, with some Snow Rabbits, more in number.”

"I'm not going to give you much help this time, so I'll be deciding what you choose."

"I choose the Frost Wolves!" Kerry shouted. He didn't want to kill those snow rabbits; they were too easy, and chasing them would be too troublesome.

“Then I’ll choose the other side,” Daisy said eagerly.

Then, the group split into two. The Duke waited in place, looking towards a snow-covered forest directly ahead, which was his target. After the children had been gone for some time, he then led his group into the snow-covered forest.

Winter hunting is one of Daisy's favorite activities, and now she has gained her best friend as well.

Looking at the vast expanse of white, Luo Fan wasn't in high spirits, and his body wasn't as agile as before. The icy, snowy landscape was nothing like the comfort of a fire.

Meanwhile, Ellie was curiously looking around, occasionally whispering to Daisy. Several servants, probably high-level martial artists, followed them, and the journey was quite safe.

Slowly, the group descended, approaching the mountain stream. Daisy, with her sharp eyes, even spotted tracks left by the snow hare, but these were generally difficult to discern unless the snow hare moved on its own.

"Daisy, what's the plan?" Seeing the group stop in front of the ravine, Ellie followed Daisy and jumped off her snow wolf mount.

“First, set traps around the perimeter, then drive those snow rabbits out. This ravine isn’t very big; I’ve been here before.” With that, Daisy began setting the traps, looking quite professional.

"And what about me!"

"Once I've settled things here, we'll go chase away the wild animals together. With Xiaoxue here this time, it'll definitely be easier."

Ellie stood by, staff in hand, waiting, while Luo Fan stared at the entrance to the ravine, wondering if anything unexpected might happen.

It looks like snow, but the faint sound of flowing water indicates the presence of underground currents, suggesting that the snow layer here may not be safe.

I wonder how big and deep this ravine is. Judging from the scattered small footprints ahead, I guess there aren't any large magical beasts.

"Come on, Ellie, let's go now!" Daisy led the way with great enthusiasm, though the snow was up to her calves, making it a little difficult to move around.

As for Xiaoxue, she controlled the magic in her feet and only left shallow footprints, even lighter than those of the snow rabbit.

This is her territory, filled with ice elements, making it quite easy to use.

At the entrance to the mountain stream, Daisy added a few more animal traps before leading Ellie and a servant inside.

The mountain stream is about 100 meters deep. After passing the entrance, it gradually widens, and the sound of the flowing water becomes much louder.

Luo Fan quickly spotted a snow rabbit crouching motionless by the wall, and then Xiao Xue's ice spike flew straight over it!

First blood secured.

Luo Fan then jumped over, took a breath, and felt a little warmth.

"Xiaoxue, you're amazing!" Daisy put the corpse into her magic bag and continued searching for prey in the surrounding area.

Luo Fan continued to act as a radar, and because of the commotion earlier, many snow rabbits scattered in fright. Daisy shot and killed three, Ellie caught one, and the rest were killed by Luo Fan and Xiao Xue's team.

After collecting the prey, there were about 10 animals left, a very good harvest, and Luo Fan had another hearty meal.

"If I had known this would happen, I wouldn't have needed to set a trap at the cave entrance. Xiaoxue and Luo Fan's combination is just too strong!" Daisy said happily after putting away her prey.

"Maybe there are more inside?" Ellie held the little snow rabbit she had caught, stroking its fur, but did not choose to kill it.

"Yes, let's keep going. We're sure to win this time," Daisy said confidently.

"Hey, there's a big guy up ahead, hiding under the snow!" After walking a few dozen meters, Luo Fan spotted a new target.

"Xiaoxue, blast open that place and see what's inside!"

When Ellie heard Lofan's voice, she stopped, grabbed Daisy, and prepared to attack.

Then, a giant ice cone formed in mid-air and pierced straight through, followed by a mournful wolf howl echoing across the snow.

A moment later, a pool of red blood appeared at that spot. Luo Fan jumped over and dug around, only to find that it was a white snow wolf, its belly pierced by an ice spike.

"It's a level 16 snow wolf! Little Snow is really amazing!" Daisy ran over with her servants, dug up the corpse, and put it away after Luo Fan had finished drinking the blood.

The attendant was bewildered, completely unable to understand what had just happened. How had that snow woman discovered such a well-hidden magical beast?

Perhaps because of the wolf howls earlier, many more snow hares came out of the mountain stream and became Daisy's prey.

However, not long after, another loud wolf howl echoed from the mountain stream. Soon after, a snow wolf, much larger than before, appeared before them, its eyes bloodshot.

The attendants quickly stepped forward, took out their weapons, and prepared for battle.

"Miss, it's a level 25 snow wolf!"

As soon as he finished speaking, the snow wolf began to condense a spell: Blizzard, a third-tier spell.

Countless snowflakes were swirled up and rushed towards them.

Then, Daisy, together with Xiaoxue, cast an ice wall spell to block its first wave of attacks.

Mixed in with the snowflakes, the snow wolf pounced, heading straight for the attendant at the front, where she was the strongest.

Taking advantage of the opportunity, Luo Fan pounced forward and blindfolded the other man. The attendant who followed then plunged a knife into his eye. In this environment, Luo Fan, in black, was quite conspicuous, serving as a landmark.

The snow wolf howled and ran backward, while Luo Fan frantically absorbed its blood. As a result, it crashed through the ice behind it, taking Luo Fan with it as they fell in, and the sound of them falling into the water could even be heard.

Without magical support, the blizzard quickly subsided, and the group only saw a large hole in the distance, having completely lost sight of Luo Fan. Little Snow ran over, babbling, and then jumped into the hole.

"Luo Fan, Xiao Xue!" Ai Li called out and ran over.

“Let’s follow them.” Daisy realized what was happening and followed.

When they arrived at the cave entrance, all they saw was a bottomless cavern, and they could hear the clear sound of flowing water.

Then, Xiaoxue cast a simple lighting spell, illuminating the space below.

The water below wasn't deep, just wisps of steam rising from it, and the snow wolf's body could be seen submerged within. At that moment, Xiao Xue was holding Luo Fan, her gaze fixed on the depths of the cave.

"Miss, I'll go and rescue them!"

As a result, after she went down, neither of her pets paid any attention to her and showed no intention of going back up.

“Daisy, Luo Fan and Xiao Xue may have discovered something,” Ellie explained, looking at the situation below.

“Let’s go in and take a look.” Daisy thought for a moment. She remembered that this was a stream, and there used to be a waterfall in the summer, but it was all frozen over now.

"Hmm~"

With the help of the attendants, the two entered the cave!
