Chapter 14 Timely Loss Cut
Just as Yan Cang stepped outside the gate, he encountered a carriage that was rushing towards him.
Yan Cang and Chu Yunjin stopped.
The carriage stopped outside the gate. Prince Jin, Yan Heng, stepped down from the carriage and looked up to see Yan Cang. His expression changed slightly: "Fourth Imperial Brother."
Turning his head again, he saw Chu Yunjin standing beside him. Prince Jin's pupils narrowed slightly, unable to understand why the couple would appear together so harmoniously at the Pei family.
Yan Jinyue's expression was unfriendly: "What is Fifth Brother doing at the Pei family? To see the concubine he just brought back, and the child in her belly?"
Yan Heng's expression froze, but then a gentle smile appeared on his face: "Why is Sixth Sister so hostile? I just heard that Sixth Sister came to the Pei family and was worried that you would cause trouble, so I came to try to persuade you."
"There's nothing to advise," Yan Jinyue said coldly. "Pei Yi'an has an improper lifestyle, and Tang Beixuan has willingly degraded herself. The two of them had an affair without any status or relationship, and even had a child. I will report the truth to Father Emperor and ask him to make a decision."
Yan Heng's face alternated between pale and flushed: "Sixth Sister, you're a young lady, don't speak like that—"
"Pei Yi'an is capable of such shameless acts, and you blame me for being rude?" Yan Jinyue sneered. "Fifth Prince always puts on an image of a virtuous and upright gentleman. Shouldn't he be utterly disgusted by such behavior? I wonder if you support or condemn his actions?"
After saying her last sentence, she walked towards the carriage without looking back.
Yan Heng looked embarrassed and turned to Yan Cang: "Fourth Brother, I hope you can understand why the Imperial Concubine was banished to the Cold Palace. Princess Yan didn't do it on purpose—"
"My family affairs are none of your business," Yan Cang said indifferently. After speaking, he took Chu Yunjin's hand and walked to the carriage, helping her into the carriage before mounting his horse.
The guards of the Prince of Yan's mansion led the way in a grand procession.
Yan Heng stood at the gate, staring intently at the carriage that was gradually disappearing into the distance, his hands clenched tightly, his face turning ashen.
The plan went wrong, and at this point, he and Pei Yi'an were completely at a disadvantage.
That damned Chu Yunjin.
More trouble than good!
With a gloomy face, he turned and walked into the Pei family home.
The carriage from the Prince of Yan's residence carried Chu Yunjin and Yan Jinyue all the way, and the atmosphere inside the carriage was oppressive.
Chu Yunjin tried to break the silence: "It's better to have a short pain than a long one. Now that you know his true nature, cut your losses. You're a princess, what kind of man can't you have? Don't hang yourself on this crooked tree."
Yan Jinyue's mood has improved a lot by now.
She looked at Chu Yunjin: "What do you mean by 'cutting losses in time'?"
"We know that continuing will result in greater losses, whether in terms of emotional damage or the loss of time and energy. Therefore, we need to withdraw in time to avoid wasting more emotions and energy and causing even greater pain."
Yan Jinyue scoffed, "You make it sound so easy, but can you actually do it?"
“Sure.” Chu Yunjin nodded. “I was still completely devoted to Prince Jin until the day before yesterday, but yesterday I suddenly realized that sometimes a person’s growth happens in an instant.”
Yan Jinyue choked: "Who knows if you've truly reformed, or if you're just putting on an act with Prince Jin for your brother's benefit?"
“I’ve already said that Prince Jin’s most insidious scheme is to have Yan Cang sue for a divorce. It’s the easiest and least likely to arouse the Emperor’s suspicion. If I were really going to put on an act, how could I possibly miss such a good opportunity yesterday?” Chu Yunjin sighed. “Didn’t you see the way Prince Jin looked at me just now? Like he was looking at an enemy?”
Yan Jinyue remained noncommittal, then turned and lifted the curtain, saying to Yan Cang, "Brother, let's go directly to the palace to see Father."
