Chapter 5 Where the Children Went

She could do without a man and let him roam around, but she absolutely needed the money. As Feng Biluo thought of this, she pressed her hand to her chest, feeling a dull ache and discomfort.

"What about the child?" Uncle looked at Feng Biluo. "It's very hard for a girl like you to raise a child. Your two older brothers are going to marry their wives. What do you plan to do with the child?"

“Uncle, I want to have my own place to live. Is that alright?” Feng Biluo asked her uncle. “That way I can earn work points myself.”

“What nonsense are you talking about? Uncle Biluo is my sister. I can’t possibly abandon her. Even if I don’t get married, I will still support them, mother and daughter,” Feng Linqi immediately stood up and said.

"You make it sound so easy. Everyone in the village knows about you and Qian Duoduo. Do you really want to live alone?" Uncle said, looking at Feng Biluo. "Biluo, I know you have a strong personality, but the problem is that you can't raise this child on your own. Your eldest brother and second brother are getting married, and your mother is getting old. It's already a burden for you to live at home. Adding another child would be very difficult."

“You said you wanted me to find you a house, and I can find you one, but the problem is, are you going to suffer for this child for the rest of your life? You’re still young. Marrying with a child in your arms is a completely different story from marrying without a child. The Ji family is so ruthless; you don’t need to raise their child. Your uncle will find you a family that will treat the child well.”

Uncle was doing this for Feng Biluo's own good. Feng Biluo is just a young girl, not even twenty years old. Taking care of an infant alone would be a burden for her and would cause her immense suffering, because the baby is a newborn, not a walking child.

Furthermore, Feng Biluo's mother had suffered her whole life, and there was no reason for her to raise a granddaughter after raising her own children. Upon hearing this, Feng Biluo looked at her great-uncle.

“Uncle, I know that’s why I want to get the compensation money back. I know you’re doing this for my own good. The child is my life too; I gave birth to him with my life,” Feng Biluo said.

She came into this world by accident, fell into this body, got someone else's body but lost her child. She would feel guilty and would also bear the consequences of her actions.

Moreover, the thought of abandoning her child felt like her heart was being burned; no matter what, just thinking about it hurt, and she couldn't bear to part with him.

"Alright, I'll ask the village chief to help you get a house. That will be your home from now on. No matter how hard or tiring things get, it's your own choice."

"Thank you, Uncle." Feng Biluo said immediately upon hearing this. The fact that the people of Fengjia Village accepted her return was the best thing for Feng Biluo.

Where would you go in the 1950s? It's 1951 now, and everywhere is in chaos with war and bandits running rampant. Even if Feng Biluo is very capable, it would be difficult for her to take care of a child alone.

The space is only for her to enter; it's not suitable for raising children. Now, in Fengjia Village, with the original owner's mother and brother taking care of her, it will be much easier for her to raise the child. Moreover, she wants to stay, for no reason at all.

"Alright, now that the child's matter is settled, let's talk about tomorrow's trip to the Ji family. You'll have to collect the compensation yourself. We're there to back you up and make sure no one dares to touch you. The question is, how you collect the money is up to you. We'll also take care of the division of the family property." Uncle said, looking at Feng Biluo.

"Thank you." Feng Biluo smiled immediately. Her uncle looked at Feng Biluo and patted her head as he stood up.

“Girl, it’s hard for you to raise the child alone. You need to think it through. I watched you and your siblings grow up. I hope you can live a good life.” Uncle said to Feng Biluo, “Back then, you and that boy Ji Huangquan suddenly hit it off. The whole village was envious when he married you. It’s just a pity that his family wasn’t good and his life wasn’t good either.”

Feng Biluo was slightly taken aback. Her memories of Ji Huangquan were only vague; she couldn't remember what he looked like or what he said to her.

He was like a vague impression; the original owner of the body was unwilling to show him anything related to him.

Uncle looked at Feng Biluo with complicated eyes. Ji Huangquan was a capable and hardworking young man, and was well-known for his good looks and abilities within a hundred miles.

Although the other party's family was terrible, it must be said that their excellence was enough to offset all of that. It's just that they were unlucky and died for no reason, which caused Feng Biluo to suffer as well.

Uncle had already told Feng Biluo that he would leave after visiting the Ji family tomorrow, and that was the other side of the Ji family.

Today was the day Ji family's stepdaughter, Lu Zhaodi, made her engagement. Lu Zhaodi looked at the man beside her with a shy expression. He was dressed in military green clothes and black trousers, just like the people outside, but he still managed to exude his own aura.

With a cold and aloof appearance and a serious demeanor, he was like a mountain wherever he sat, captivating everyone's hearts. Lu Zhaodi lowered her head; she needed to get married quickly.

In the case of a military marriage, even if the sister-in-law does not die in the future, he can still be invincible.

"Hello, is Lu Zhaodi or Li Chunhua here?" At this moment, Zhao Lu arrived. Zhao Lu had basically never been to the Ji family, and the Ji family did not recognize him.

Ji Huangquan merely took Feng Biluo to meet Zhao Lu. When Zhao Lu entered, the seated man was slightly taken aback, "Who are you people?"

"We... Hello, we are from the Qishan Town Police Station, here to arrest Li Chunhua and Lu Zhaodi for their attempted murder of Feng Biluo," Zhao Lu said.

"What? Murder Feng Biluo?" Upon hearing this, Lu Zhaodi, who was standing to the side, turned pale.

No, calm down. Even if you deny it to the death, you can still turn the tables on your sister-in-law if she comes back.

She said the other party did this to pocket all the compensation money. After a month, she and her mother had already rehearsed their lines, not to mention that her father was also on her side.

"I didn't do it," Li Chunhua immediately retorted.

“You’re slandering me. I didn’t do it.” Li Chunhua also realized that the problem was serious. “This has nothing to do with us. She fell and had a difficult childbirth on her own. If you don’t believe me, you can find Feng Biluo to come back and confront her.”

"I think there must be some misunderstanding?" Gu Guoquan frowned and said, "Zhao Di couldn't possibly have done these things?"

"Yes, Guoquan, you have to believe me." Lu Zhaodi cried pitifully, looking so pathetic. Gu Guoquan didn't answer, but looked at Zhao Lu in front of him.

"I am a major of XXX." Gu Guoquan said. Zhao Lu was surprised when he heard this, but looked at Lu Zhaodi beside him.

Today is the day for the betrothal ceremony, and Gu Guoquan's mother has also come. When Gu Guoquan's mother looked at Lu Zhaodi, who seemed flustered and guilty, she frowned, sensing something was amiss.

Gu's mother disliked Lu Zhaodi, feeling that she was not good enough for her son, but her son thought she was a gentle and kind girl.

Gu's mother knew better than anyone whether the girl was good or not, because she always felt that the good girl her son described was lacking something.

She needs to get to the bottom of what happened today. Whether it's true or not, there's no smoke without fire. Whether it's true or not, she shouldn't marry a woman like that if she doesn't find out the truth, she'll ruin her son's future.
