Chapter 118 Devastation Under Calamity

The sky turned a strange color.

The colors are chaotic and disorderly, forming a vortex that approaches the ground vertically.

"What exactly is that?"

"Tides?"

I don't know much about the "tidal wave," a disaster that only exists in books for me. I only know that many monsters will fall from the sky, and that these monsters are highly aggressive.

Although I don't know if the strange sight before me is the "tidal wave" mentioned in the book, I now understand why the guards would assemble at this time.

"Hmm...that direction? Which way could it be?"

I don't know which city is the source of the disaster, but I do know one thing: at least the King, who is far away, will not be affected, which means I am currently safe.

Although I feel sorry, I should just ignore things that don't concern me.

With this in mind, I arrived at the Duke of Albad's residence, which was surprisingly quiet compared to the noisy streets.

This is probably what is meant by the privilege of the nobility: as long as the disaster doesn't happen on their own doorstep, someone will always take care of it.

But I have no right to make such a judgment, for I myself am also indifferent and aloof.

"Oh...it's Leon...come in quickly! Duke Albad has been waiting for you!"

The same butler grandfather came out to greet me as before.

"Hmm? Does Duke Albad know I was coming?"

"Yes!"

"That's really suspicious..."

Muttering to myself, I followed the butler to the reception room. When I pushed open the door, Duke Albad was sipping his black tea. Judging from his demeanor, he was indeed a tea lover.

"Lilith is here too?"

When I shifted my gaze to the sofa, I noticed that Lilith was also there, but she didn't look well. It wasn't the paleness one gets when someone is sick; rather, she seemed to be caught in some kind of struggle.

"Sit down, Leon..."

After sitting down as instructed, Duke Albad would call over a maid to make tea, following the same elaborate process.

"When you came over... you must have already seen the strange change in the sky!"

“I did see it… uh… was that a ‘tide’?”

I don't know why, but I always feel that there is a strange, inexplicable oppressive atmosphere. Perhaps it is because of the disaster?

"It is not yet clear whether it is a 'tidal wave,' but the exact location has been determined."

"Isn't it 'the tide'? What could it be? Like the Forbidden Witch incident? A sudden catastrophe?"

"Um... Duke Albad, would you mind revealing the location of this disaster?"

Duke Albayd seemed to have been waiting for me because of this matter, but he didn't seem to be in a hurry at all. He savored the lingering aroma of the black tea for a while before slowly speaking.

"Let Miss Lilith next to you tell her! I've already given her the relevant information!"

"Uh... let's not be so mysterious at a time like this. Even if we know the exact location, what can we do? I'm not some kind of righteous hero who wants to save the world, so I won't act rashly."

When I looked at Lilith, I noticed she seemed hesitant, as if she was debating whether or not to tell me.

"Lilith?"

To be honest, this is the first time I've ever seen Lilith like this. What could have made her look so troubled?

"Leon... before you tell me, you have to promise me you'll calm down first, okay?"

"What's wrong? Why do I need to calm down? Do I look like the kind of impulsive, loud brat?"

However, in such a tense atmosphere, I was somewhat affected and became increasingly curious about where the disaster might be, causing Lilith to be so conflicted.

"Tell me, Lilith! I promise I'll calm down!"

“Hmm… Leon… the scene of this disaster… is…”

Lilith bit her lip; it seemed she still didn't want to say it.

"Hey! Don't keep us in suspense like that..."

"Lilith...how about..."

"In Collins Town!"

I was just about to say that if it really didn't work out, I wouldn't say anything. Besides, I didn't particularly want to know the location of the disaster, and it wouldn't affect the capital.

However, after I heard what Lilith said next, I immediately stood up from the sofa and stared at her in disbelief.

"Clins Town?"

"Lilith? What...what did you say? Where are you?"

With a trembling voice, I managed to squeeze out those words from my throat. Of course, I knew Lilith wouldn't joke about something like this.

but.

"Why Collins Town... why there...?"

I felt a buzzing sound in my head, and then I started to feel dizzy. I staggered and almost fell, but luckily the maid behind me caught me in time.

"Leon!"

Lilith was also quite frightened and quickly ran to my side, asking me with concern.

The disaster occurred in Collins, and I knew exactly what that meant.

The Segers, Sylvie, and Anna will all be affected, and some may even perish in the disaster.

I cannot accept this news, and I am even less willing to believe it.

After pushing the maid aside, I ran straight out of the reception room and then rushed out of the Duke of Albad's mansion.

"It's not too late! The disaster hasn't happened yet! As long as I get home in time, I'll definitely make it!"

"Leon!"

I can't hear Lilith calling out.

In short, as long as I get home in time, the Seg family, Sylvie, and Anna will definitely be saved!

I don't know what I can use to save them, but I know very well that I have to go back!

Just as I rushed out of the Duke of Albad's mansion, I could clearly see...

"No! No! Don't!"

A beam of light stretched from the white-dyed sky down to the ground.

Then, it expanded infinitely at an astonishing speed, turning into a torrent that swallowed everything in its path and gradually approached.

Even though we were far apart, I could almost see the houses, the trees, the town... and the Seg couple, Sylvie, and Anna disappearing into that white pillar of light.

Boom...

As the pillar of light drew closer, even the entire capital city trembled.

"Leon!"

Lilith rushed up as well, looking at me with concern, while also staring incredulously at the dramatic change in the distance.

However, the beam of light disappeared suddenly after moving for a few seconds, and the sky returned to its usual azure blue. If one hadn't seen it with their own eyes, no one would have believed what had just happened.

I stared blankly in that direction, then lost consciousness and collapsed to the ground...

At that moment, the entire town of Collins was destroyed.
