Crow and Sherry

Crow and Sherry

"Really? I remember he used to work for Rum."

In the dimly lit room, the first thing that catches the eye is a huge dark brown solid wood desk, which is placed in the center of the room.

The floor was covered with a soft, handmade wool carpet, and stepping on it felt like walking on fluffy cotton. By the window stood a solid wood bookshelf, which held books on mythology, religion, and biology.

The walls covered with wallpaper are adorned with oil paintings that have fetched astronomical prices in the past, including some rare and legendary pieces.

Gin, dressed in a black overcoat and wearing a top hat, stood in the center of the room. He bowed slightly to the desk with a respectful expression, without raising his head even though there was no one behind the desk.

A male voice of indeterminate age came from a player on the desk, as if someone was communicating with Gin through the player.

Gin took off his hat and pulled it to his chest, revealing his beautiful long silver hair. He calmly focused his gaze on the carpet in front of his desk.

Yes, boss.

"Suz was indeed under Rum's command before being assigned to me," Gin replied respectfully.

"Okay, I understand. Bring him to see me this afternoon."

Upon hearing Gin's reply, the male voice in the player seemed to pause for a few seconds, followed by a sentence with an ambiguous emotion. Then, with a click, the player disconnected, followed by a crackling sound of electricity, and it stopped working.

Gin touched his hat, bowed, took a few steps back, and then turned and left the room.

After leaving the boss's residence, Gin got into the black Porsche parked outside. Vodka wasn't there, so he drove there alone.

The manor was heavily guarded, with surveillance cameras everywhere.

At this moment, in a bedroom on the second floor, an elderly man with white hair but a relatively young face sat by the window, watching Gin drive away in the surveillance footage on the monitor.

"Hmph, Rum's gotten too big for his britches..." The old man's dissatisfaction with Rum intensified as he recalled Gin's report earlier.

Knowing full well, he didn't inform him immediately, but instead deliberately sent the person to Gin's men, whom he didn't get along with, for his own scheming. Now, recalling how Rum had been constantly trying to sow discord between Gin and Rum, his resentment towards him reached its peak at this moment.

However, due to certain considerations, the old man did not immediately react. Instead, he suppressed the transfer order he had originally intended for Rum and began to consider the possibility of having other veteran members replace him.

Meanwhile, Rum, who was still reflecting on his actions behind closed doors, was completely unaware of what had happened and was still plotting how to severely suppress Gin.

Curaçao had heard a little about what had happened within the organization recently, but she was too biased towards Rum in the past and felt that this incident might also be part of the other party's scheme. So she simply put aside these unfounded matters for the time being and did not bother Rum with them.

Time quickly passed and it was afternoon.

Upon receiving Gin's message to come downstairs, Tsurumi Kawaru immediately tidied himself up, changed his shoes, and ran downstairs.

He opened the back door of the black Porsche as usual, got in, and after fastening his seatbelt, he looked up and realized that it wasn't Vodka driving, but Gin himself.

The black-haired, golden-eyed boy paused, then instinctively gave Gin a fawning smile. Tsurumi Kawakami blinked his beautiful golden eyes and asked, "Is Vodka busy today?"

Gin glanced at him in the rearview mirror, not taking Tsurumi Ryu's somewhat awkward probing approach seriously, but he paused for a second before speaking.

"Vodka isn't qualified yet." It sounded like both a reply and a warning.

Tsurumi looked surprised, opened his mouth but swallowed the words he was about to say as his sixth sense alerted him, and did not continue this dangerous topic.

They remained silent for the rest of the journey, and the black Porsche eventually drove into a manor in the suburbs.

After getting out of the car in the manor's parking lot, Gin carefully examined Tsurumi Ryuu's appearance, as if it were the first time he had noticed his features.

He then said to Tsurumi Nagare, half warning and half admonishing, "When the boss asks you something, just answer honestly."

Tsurumi Kawaru clasped his hands in front of him and nodded obediently. This made Gin frown uncomfortably. He looked away and led the man into the manor.

The elegantly decorated yet luxurious manor caught Tsurumi Kawaru's eye. Like a country bumpkin who had never seen the world, he couldn't take it all in, looking around and occasionally letting out a gasp of amazement.

Tsurumi Kawakami had never seen anything like this before. While his eyes were opened, he was also wondering how much these things were worth and how much food he could buy with them.

His attention was focused on this, and when Gin brought him to a stop in front of a large door, Tsurumi Kawaru almost bumped into it without noticing. Fortunately, he managed to stop in time, and his nose was only a fist's distance from Gin's coat.

Tsurumi blinked and took a big step back as if nothing had happened. Gin didn't turn around, but he guessed that Tsurumi must have noticed him.

The black-haired, golden-eyed boy touched the tip of his nose and glanced absentmindedly at the gilded gate in front of him.

The door was pushed open, and Gin tilted his head back, his cold eyes under the wide brim of his hat glancing at him.

Tsurumi Kawa pursed his lips and followed him inside.

Inside was a very large office, decorated in the same style as the interior of the manor. Tsurumi Kawa glanced at it briefly and then looked away.

With his feet on the soft carpet, Tsurumi Kawaru heard a male voice ahead of him whose age was indiscernible. Although his age was unknown, his tone was full of the arrogance that every person in a superior position should have.

Tsurumi Kawakami subconsciously looked up and saw a computer on a desk not far away, with the screen facing them. The screen showed a man in a black suit leaning on a cane...

This description may seem a bit hasty, but Tsurumi Kawaru really didn't know how to describe the person he saw.

The other person's appearance was very strange and abrupt. He had silver hair, which was not his natural hair color but was due to old age.

But his face, which looked to be around fifty years old, was incongruous with his full head of silver hair, or perhaps even younger.

With Tsurumi Kawaru's keen eye, he could only see some wrinkles around the other person's eyes and face; otherwise, the other person's overall appearance was very energetic and youthful.

But after meeting his eyes, Tsurumi Kawakami accurately concluded that the other person was very old, because such eyes were definitely not something a young person could have, and even a middle-aged person might not.

Moreover, there was no emotion in his gaze, as if he were examining an inanimate object and estimating its value.

Such a gaze made Tsurumi Kawaru somewhat uncomfortable, and his displeasure was evident on his face, but he never looked away.

The two stared at each other for half a minute until Gin stepped forward and interrupted their gaze.

Gin took off his hat and bowed respectfully, saying, "Boss, the person has been brought over."

Tsurumi belatedly realized that Gin was talking about him, and then in the next second, he matched the old man on the computer screen with the boss he was referring to.

He was a beat slower but followed Gin's movements, whispering a command.

On the screen, Karasuma Renya's eyes darted around. He sat on a single sofa, holding a sapphire-encrusted cane in both hands, his back straight, showing no signs of old age.

As a billionaire businessman of the century, he was undoubtedly quite successful, and while pursuing some extreme goals, he also achieved considerable success.

But this is far from enough and cannot meet his needs.

So, as the times rapidly developed, Karasuma Renya also kept up with the trend, investing heavily in various industries and recruiting outstanding researchers, moving towards his ultimate goal.

Now, after decades of research, getting closer and closer to his goal, while feeling a sense of satisfaction, a negative emotion also arises.

Karasuma Renya could feel life slipping away. Sometimes, when he looked at himself in the mirror, he felt unfamiliar, panicked, and fearful. His personality became unpredictable and suspicious. He felt that he might not be able to wait that long.

"Bring your men to the second floor to see me." After staring at Tsurumi Kawa for a while, Karasuma Renya shifted his gaze to Gin.

Gin showed no outward reaction to the order, but no one knew the turmoil in his heart.

He responded and looked up at Tsurumi Kawakami. His cold and ruthless eyes were like a deep pool. He said in a cold voice, "The boss wants to see you. Come with me."

After saying that, he turned and left.

Tsurumi Kawa was stunned for a moment, then looked up at the blacked-out computer screen and followed Gin.

"That was the boss just now."

He looks so young, about the same age as Rum. He tried to strike up a conversation with Gin.

Gin gave him a cold glance but didn't say anything.

Tsurumi Kawakami shut his mouth, and then they went up to the second floor.

The layout on the second floor is the same as downstairs, but the security has been greatly increased, with cameras working everywhere.

They walked through a long corridor and finally arrived at a large door. Before going in, Gin handed over the Beretta he was carrying and placed it in the hands of a security guard holding a tray at the entrance.

Tsurumi Kawaru touched himself, met the gaze of the security personnel, shook his head and spread his hands, saying, "I didn't bring any."

The other party glanced at them, and only let the two pass after confirming that they were not carrying weapons.

Upon entering, Tsurumi Kawa saw the boss sitting on the sofa. Judging from the background, the footage on the computer earlier was filmed from here.

"Go down." Karasuma Renya waved his hand, dismissing the security personnel in the room. Then he looked at Gin and Tsurumi Nagare, "You did a good job on this, better than Rum."

He was looking at Gin when he said that, but Tsurumi noticed that Gin didn't react at all; his face was cold and expressionless.

After a few simple questions and answers, Gin answered them one by one and then asked to leave, which Karasuma Renya readily agreed to.

Only the two of them remained in the room. Tsurumi Kawaru felt no ill will; he had almost no negative emotions towards the old man in front of him, and was even more curious.

At least for now, he doesn't sense any malice.

"Summon Shiho Miyano to see me." Renya Karasuma glanced at Nagaru Tsurumi, picked up the pager beside him, and gave the order.

Tsurumi Nagaru was somewhat surprised to hear this name, because he had heard another similar name before because of the incident with Lei – Miyano Akemi.

Just as he was casually wondering what the connection was between the two names, the door opened again, and a girl with brown hair and blue eyes wearing a white coat walked in carrying a medical kit.
