Poisoning and Death [Bonus Chapter for 1k Views]

Poisoning and Death [Bonus Chapter for 1k Views]

The intense firepower created a hail of bullets, and almost no one believed that Tsurumi Kawakami could survive it. However, what happened next left everyone stunned and speechless.

All the bullets that came into contact with Tsurumi Kawa were propelled by a strange force, bouncing back along their original trajectories. In an instant, the situation on the field changed dramatically, and the burly men in black suits surrounding them were lying on the ground.

Taro Koizumi was not spared either, but instead of firing his gun, he was hit by another person's bullet while trying to dodge, and was shot twice in the shoulder and arm.

Looking disheveled and terrified, Koizumi Taro stumbled out, clutching his wound. His earlier arrogance was gone, and he looked like he was about to abandon his subordinates and run away alone.

The other people in the cafeteria hadn't yet recovered from what had just happened. It wasn't until Koizumi Taro tried to escape that the young man who had spoken up for Tsurumi Kawakami reacted and instinctively tripped Koizumi Taro.

With a loud bang, Koizumi Taro slammed heavily onto the chair, letting out a piercing scream before collapsing unconscious from the pain.

Those present who saw his miserable state couldn't help but gasp, and all eyes turned to Honda, who had tripped Koizumi Taro.

The loud noise and screams also caught Tsurumi Kawaru's attention. He looked away from the group of men in black suits who had collapsed in front of him and turned to look in the direction from which the noise came.

Those who were swept away by his gaze were filled with lingering fear and took a step back, including Honda, who had helped trip Koizumi Taro.

A hint of confusion flickered in Tsurumi Kawakami's clear golden eyes as he tilted his head to look at them: "

Finally, Honda stepped forward. He remained calm and clear-headed, saying, "Koizumi Taro is a confidant of Ito's executives, and the silver edict in his possession is definitely fake. But the fact that he dares to act so blatantly means that something bad must have happened at the top."

If the silver edict in Mori Ōgai's hands previously evoked envy and jealousy, then the one in Koizumi Taro's hands would elicit the opposite reaction. After all, silver edicts aren't commonplace, and the likelihood of multiple edicts appearing at the same time is very low.

Not to mention what Koizumi Taro just said, plus the fact that Ito's reputation and popularity in the port Mafia are not very good, these lower-level staff would definitely trust Mori Ougai, who is approachable and never puts on airs, more than Ito's executives.

Honda's words immediately resonated with everyone present.

Tsurumi Ryuu also belatedly realized what was happening. He walked around the burly man in the black suit on the ground and thanked Honda.

Let's go back twenty minutes.

Mori Ougai, dressed in a black trench coat, came out of Ozaki Koyo's office, took the elevator back to the fifteenth floor, and knocked on the doors of Tsurumi Nagaru and Dazai Osamu.

The door opened, and Dazai Osamu, who had already gotten up and washed, was dressed in his outdoor clothes. His left eye was wrapped with a bandage that Tsurumi Kawaru had brought back from the clinic. When he looked up at Mori Ougai, his deep, dark eyes were indifferent.

Mori Ougai smiled and said, "Dazai is already up? I thought I'd have to wait."

Dazai Osamu glanced at him and said dejectedly, "Mr. Mori, there's no need to waste time with nonsense."

Mori Ougai paused, a glint of light flashing in his dark red eyes. He slightly raised the corners of his mouth and said in a tone that seemed somewhat disappointed, "Alright, let's go then."

The two walked one after the other through the corridor to the elevator, and then took the elevator to the top floor. During this time, a silent and oppressive atmosphere filled the space between them.

As they walked down the scarlet carpet leading to the leader's office and stood before the door, Mori Ougai calmly nodded to the black-suited guards outside.

Mori Ougai turned his head slightly to look at his side, where Dazai Osamu was playing with the bandage on his wrist with his head down and said, "I called Dazai away, and when I go back and find you're not there, he'll definitely complain about me afterwards."

Dazai Osamu paused, his lowered eyelashes obscuring most of the emotions in his eyes, but a hint of coldness still suddenly leaked out.

He slightly raised his head, his face still bearing that world-weary expression, and said impatiently, "Since Mr. Mori knows, then hurry up."

Mori Ōgai stared at him with his dark red eyes, chuckled softly after a few seconds, pushed open the door, and led Dazai Osamu inside.

They walked through the spacious office to the back suite for resting. In the bedroom, strong aromatherapy masked the smell of drugs and a hint of death and decay, and the tightly closed windows made the air even more stale.

Dazai Osamu frowned inwardly, glancing at the old leader lying unconscious on the bed. At that moment, Mori Ougai walked straight to the bedside, took out a bag of medicine from the cabinet, and skillfully changed the contents.

Seeing his movement, Dazai Osamu took a step forward, confirmed that the old leader was unconscious, and scoffed, crossing his arms and saying sarcastically, "Mr. Mori really never forgets his duty as a private doctor."

Mori Ougai ignored his sarcasm, adjusted the IV drip rate, turned calmly to Dazai Osamu, and said with a smile, "Well, that's what happens when I'm his personal doctor."

Dazai Osamu narrowed his eyes, scoffed, looked away, stepped back, and leaned against the wall to wait.

A few minutes later, Ito, having received the news, rushed over.

With a fierce expression and menacing eyes, Ito, the executive, pushed open the door and entered. Showing no regard for the old leader lying on the sickbed, he looked at them smugly and said, "Well, so you dared to poison the leader! As an executive of the Port Mafia, I have the authority to deal with this poisoning incident directly!"

As he spoke, Ito called his subordinates outside the door in and had them surround Mori Ogai and Dazai Osamu. He then walked to the bedside and roughly pulled the needle out of the old leader's hand.

Surrounded by people in black suits, Mori Ougai seemed still reeling from Ito's words. Seeing him pull out the needle from the old leader's IV drip, he hurriedly stopped him: "Wait! Ito, the old leader's medication has a set infusion time; you can't pull out the needle!"

Executive Ito casually tossed aside the IV tubing with the needle attached and said in a sarcastic tone, "Ha, do you think you're still the boss's personal physician? Take them away!"

The men in black suits stepped forward, but before they could even touch the two, they were swept away by a blonde little girl who appeared out of nowhere, carrying a giant syringe.

Seeing this, Ito's face darkened, and he glared fiercely at Mori Ougai: "As expected! You're an esper too!"

As an executive, Ito naturally possesses supernatural abilities; he owns a gun that can fire an unlimited number of bullets and has its own aiming mechanism.

A slightly magical silver pistol appeared out of thin air in Ito's hand. He fired three shots without aiming, and the golden bullets flew rapidly toward Mori Ōgai before being blocked by Alice.

Realizing that Mori Ougai was not easy to deal with, Ito gritted his teeth and fired continuously, countless bullets spinning and shooting towards Mori Ougai from all directions at speeds invisible to the naked eye.

"I told you to hurry up." A clear voice, tinged with a hint of complaint, rang out behind Ito.

Osamu Dazai, who had appeared behind him without him noticing, raised his hand and grabbed Ito's shoulder. His superpower, No Longer Human, activated, and the superpower gun in Ito's hand suddenly disintegrated and disappeared.

The supernatural bullets suddenly shattered and stopped outside Morioh.

Ito, the executive, opened his eyes wide in horror. He suddenly couldn't feel his supernatural power anymore. In his panic, he noticed the hand gripping his shoulder and the black-haired brat that Mori Ougai had brought.

He immediately turned around and swung his fist at Dazai Osamu behind him, but had to pull his hand back to avoid it.

The moment he withdrew his hand, Executive Ito felt his superpower return to his body. He quickly realized the problem.

His gaze toward Dazai Osamu was filled with disbelief, but now was not the time to think about that. Executive Ito reassembled the supernatural gun and then fired it in succession.

In an instant, many golden bullets spun rapidly in the room.

Most of them flew towards Mori Ōgai, while a small portion flew towards Dazai Osamu, who was constantly dodging them.

In the midst of the frantic dodging, Mori Ougai unknowingly arrived at the bedside, as if he had been forced there by bullets.

Out of the corner of his eye, Ito caught a glimpse of Mori Ōgai's disheveled movements. A mocking smile crossed his face, but a bad premonition washed over him. He saw Mori Ōgai suddenly duck, and several bullets in front of him flew forward rapidly due to inertia—

Upon seeing the unconscious leader lying on the hospital bed behind Mori Ougai, Ito's pupils contracted, and he raised his hand to try and control the bullets.

At this critical moment, the door behind Ito was suddenly slammed open and hit him hard on the back.

The executive, Ito, let out a painful groan as he was hit, and then he was knocked to the ground. The bullet that had been able to stop him was completely pierced through in the next second.

"Dr. Mori—!! Dazai—!!"

Tsurumi Kawaru burst through the door, about to rush in, but almost tripped over the person on the ground. He had to brake suddenly to stop.

This also revealed Ozaki Koyo behind him and a group of men in black suits who had come to his rescue. Under the watchful eyes of many, they saw the scene of the leader being shot by Ito's supernatural bullet in front of the hospital bed.

Bright red blood oozed from the penetrating wound, quickly staining the plain-colored quilt.

This scene was incredibly shocking; no one had time to react.

At that moment, Ozaki Koyo, dressed in a maple leaf kimono, shouted excitedly: "Boss—!!!"

Then her supernatural ability, the Golden Yaksha, suddenly appeared, and the staff-sword she held pierced directly through the chest of the culprit, Executive Ito.

In just a few seconds, a series of events left everyone stunned. A full minute passed, and the stench of blood in the air grew stronger, before the rescuers finally came to their senses.

"What exactly happened—" Black Lizard Captain Hirotsu Ryūrō glanced at Mori Ōgai and the others in the room before asking.

When Mori Ougai's old leader was shot, he immediately took first aid measures, but unfortunately the bullet went straight through his chest, damaging his lungs and heart.

After confirming the old leader's death, he withdrew his blood-stained hand from his chest, raised his head, and gave everyone a bitter smile.

“I don’t really know how it happened. I was changing the leader’s dressings on time when suddenly Ito brought him in and said that I had poisoned the leader.”

After a pause, Mori Ougai continued, seemingly recalling the events: "The situation was too chaotic at the time. Executive Ito suddenly opened fire, and that's what happened to you just now."

As soon as the words were spoken, everyone recalled the scene they had just witnessed. When Tsurumi Kawaru burst through the door, Ito executive was indeed holding his supernatural gun, and golden bullets were flying all over the room.

It is a fact that Ito killed the leader, but the rumors about Mori Ougai poisoning him need to be investigated carefully.

Ozaki Koyo did not recall the golden demon. She kicked aside Ito's corpse on the ground, walked to the bedside, and took down the IV tube and the unfinished medicine from the ground.

"I will investigate the poisoning," she said with a sorrowful expression.

Hirotsu Ryūrō adjusted his glasses and said in a deep voice, "Then I'll have to trouble Mr. Ozaki."

As they discussed the cause of the leader's death, Tsurumi Kawakami, still reeling from the shock, walked blankly to Dazai Osamu's side. Looking at Dazai's calm expression and pursed lips, he instinctively felt that the other was in a bad mood.

So, Tsurumi Kawakami, who had just opened his mouth to speak, immediately closed it again.

With the cadres and the black lizard in charge, the farce quickly came to an end, but the leader's death left behind many problems.

The most crucial question, and the one that everyone is most concerned about, is—who will be the new leader of the Port Mafia.

However, none of these things concerned Tsurumi Kawaru most. He followed Dazai Osamu back to the fifteenth floor, where the door was half-open and there were messy footprints in the entrance hall.

A hint of guilt flashed in Tsurumi Kawakami's eyes as he hurriedly tidied himself up before Dazai Osamu went inside.

"I... I overheard about Dr. Mori poisoning people in the cafeteria. I was in a hurry to come back and find you, so I didn't pay attention..."

The black-haired, golden-eyed boy spoke while stealing glances at Dazai Osamu.

Dazai Osamu paused, then slowly walked into the tidied room. He sat on the sofa in silence for a few seconds before suddenly asking, "Did you have breakfast?"

Upon hearing this, Tsurumi Kawakami breathed a sigh of relief, and the radar that had been sounding alarms finally stopped.

He rubbed his stomach and complained to Dazai, "No, I was eating perfectly fine when that subordinate named Ito came to the cafeteria to arrest me. They overturned my breakfast! And today's meat patties were especially delicious! I was planning to bring you a few."
