Chapter 128 Strange Tales of a Small Town

"Some strange things have happened in a small town a few dozen kilometers away from Nanhai City. I need to stay in Nanhai City to guard against that mysterious monster. I hope you can take some men to investigate?"

Han Yijian said calmly.

"Okay, leave this to me."

Xu Xiwang was taken aback for a moment, then readily agreed.

"good."

Han Yijian nodded and said, "In any case, we need to proceed with caution."

"Understood, don't worry."

Xu Xiwang smiled, then turned to Xu Qingfeng beside him and said, "Follow the young master."

Xu Qingfeng was furious, his face contorted with rage, and he even managed to pull out his mask of pain.

Hey, I've been busy killing monsters all night, and you're just enjoying the evening breeze, looking at the sea, and flirting with girls.

You won't let me rest, yet you drag me along!

You bastard!

Xu Qingfeng gritted his teeth in hatred.

He endured it and obediently followed Xu Xiwang out of the city.

After the plane landed, Xu Xiwang finally understood what Han Yijian meant by "strange".

This is more than just bizarre!

It can only be described as terrifying!

Dark clouds loom over the city, threatening to crush it.

An endless black fog enveloped the town, turning it into a hellish place.

In the darkness, pairs of blood-red eyes peered through the thick black fog at Xu Xiwang, revealing a greedy, bloodthirsty, and cruel light.

Rows of corpses lay sprawled on the ground.

Xu Xiwang and Xu Qingfeng led dozens of heavily armed soldiers through the black fog.

"Turn on all the searchlights."

Xu Xiwang gave the instructions.

The soldiers immediately turned their searchlights on the surrounding area and began scanning.

The searchlight beams were blinding, but the monster in the black mist didn't react at all, continuing to stare at them greedily.

As they approached the door of a house, Xu Xiwang noticed a pair of human eyes peering at them through a crack inside.

Is anyone there?

Xu Xiwang gently knocked on the door and asked.

No one responded.

"We are from the military, here to protect you."

Xu Xiwang called out a few more times, but still no one answered.

Xu Xiwang gave a gentle push, and the lock on the door was shattered by his punch.

He pushed the door open and entered.

The house was empty, the floor was covered with a thick layer of dust, a strong musty smell filled the air, and a faint fishy odor permeated the air.

"bite."

A faint sound came from a small room, attracting the soldiers' attention.

They pushed open the door and found two children huddled in a corner, shivering. Their hair was disheveled, their clothes were dirty and covered in grime, and their faces were covered in mud, making them unrecognizable.

Their eyes were filled with terror, revealing despair and fear, and their bodies were trembling uncontrollably, as if they had been greatly frightened.

Xu Xiwang frowned and walked up to the two of them.

"No...don't kill us."

The two children were terrified, trembling and unable to speak properly.

"We're from the military. Tell me, what happened here?"

Xu Xiwang squatted down, looked at the two of them at eye level, and spoke in a calm but serious tone.

"There are...there are ghosts, they...they...they ate our parents..."

One of the children, terrified, stammered, "They ate many people."

"What? A ghost?"

Xu Xiwang and Xu Qingfeng exchanged a glance, both seeing shock in each other's eyes.

ghost?

Could they be demons?

That's impossible!

The ghosts all reside in the Nine Nether Hells; very few ghosts can venture out of there.

Third Uncle Xu Yifeng went to the Nine Nether Hell to search for the Netherworld Flower. Could it be that something has happened in the Nine Nether Hell?

"Many people were... were drained of their blood, eaten alive... and died as soon as they were discovered."

"Where are the troops inside the city?"

"They're all dead."

The two children became increasingly frightened as they spoke, trembling all over and unable to speak coherently.

Xu Xiwang took a deep breath. "Take both of their children with you."

The soldiers nearby picked them up.

As soon as everyone stepped out of the house, they saw something seem to dart past in the darkness, followed by a sharp scream.

They turned around and were immediately startled.

The rotting corpses looked eerily strange in the night, their bloodshot eyes radiating a bewitching light, their lips parted as if they were saying something.

"It's a ghost!"

The two children were terrified, trembling violently and screaming.
