Chapter 51 Unwelcome
Normally, Xie Yankang would have known when to back down, but given Wang's behavior lately, he couldn't rest easy. He furrowed his brows and said, "You'd better be fair and behave yourself. Don't ruin this marriage, or I'll divorce you."
After uttering those harsh words, Xie Yankang stood up and strode outside.
Furong Garden.
Xie Qingran, holding exquisite pastries and two beautiful clothes, sat down opposite Aunt Tian with a slight smile on her lips.
Aunt Tian was considered quite favored in the inner quarters. Over the years, her greatest pleasure was to annoy Madam Wang. She was beautiful, more charming than a flower, and her voice was sweet when she laughed.
Aunt Tian and Xie Qingran had never crossed paths before, so she didn't know why Xie Qingran had brought these things over at this time.
“Don’t worry, Auntie. These things are gifts from the palace. I brought them here specially for you to try.”
“When I first came home, my aunt brought me some snacks and some fabric. In the whole Xie family, only my aunt has this kind of thoughtfulness.”
Xie Qingran's voice remained calm, almost flat, yet she clearly remembered Aunt Tian's kindness towards her.
Aunt Tian never expected that Xie Qingran would remember these things. After all, she sent these things over just to test Xie Qingran's attitude and status. She never thought that Xie Qingran would remember them as a favor and even repay her now.
For some reason, Aunt Tian, who was usually carefree, suddenly felt a little sorry for Xie Qingran.
She smiled and then said directly, "Miss is too kind. Since that's the case, it would be impolite to refuse, so I will stay."
Xie Qingran immediately nodded. She stood up, took out a box, and handed it to Aunt Tian across from her, saying, "Aunt, this crabapple blossom is very beautiful. Father loves crabapple blossoms the most, so I'm giving it to you."
After saying this, Xie Qingran turned around and strode outside.
Years ago, Aunt Tian had a child, but because Wang made her kneel as punishment, the child was lost, and she never had another child. For many years, Aunt Tian has been causing trouble for Wang because of this child. The two of them are mortal enemies, and it's not a trivial matter of fighting over a man.
After leaving Furong Garden, Baozhu looked at Xie Qingran with a puzzled expression and whispered, "Madam dislikes Aunt Tian the most. If you hang out with Aunt Tian, I'm afraid it will make Madam angry."
Xie Qingran didn't say anything, but returned to her Rose Garden. Looking at the delicate pastries on the table, she smiled faintly: "This is exactly what I wanted. I don't care if she gets angry or not."
As a mother, Wang Shi doesn't love her child at all. Since that's the case, Xie Qingran, as the child, doesn't need to respect this mother too much. If Aunt Tian is capable enough to really bring bad luck to Wang Shi, then Xie Qingran will be very happy.
Sure enough, that very night, Xie Yankang went to Aunt Tian's Hibiscus Garden, and he did so for five or six days in a row, not even glancing at Wang Shi again.
Even though they were an old married couple, Wang was so angry that her face turned pale when she saw Xie Yankang doting on Aunt Tian. She swept the teacup in front of her over her shoulder and her eyebrows were tightly furrowed: "That slut, all she knows is how to seduce the master!"
“Madam, you are the legal wife, why are you arguing with a concubine?” Aunt Liu smiled and stepped forward to comfort Madam Wang.
Madam Wang glanced at her, then said coldly, "Master can favor anyone, but not this Concubine Tian. She's always going against me, and she's been especially awful these past few days. When she comes to pay her respects, she puts on such a pretentious act, as if she's afraid others won't know about her affair with Master!"
Seeing Wang's angry expression, Aunt Liu thought for a moment and then said, "I heard that the eldest young lady went to Furong Garden that day, and then the master stayed there. I also heard that the eldest young lady sent a lot of things to Aunt Tian. Madam, what do you think the eldest young lady means? You are her mother, why don't you see her sending anything over?"
Wang was already angry, and hearing these words only fueled her anger. Her eyebrows furrowed tightly as she stood up and headed towards the Rose Garden.
"Higher! Higher!"
"Baozhu, push harder, higher!"
Xie Qingran's voice was loud and clear, and it was obviously filled with joy.
During this time, Xie Qingran built a swing in the yard and loved it very much.
Hearing Xie Qingran's cheerful voice, Wang became even more enraged. She pushed open the door, rushed in, and glared at Xie Qingran through gritted teeth: "Get down here!"
Before she could finish speaking, Madam Wang was stunned. There was not only Xie Qingran on the swing, but also Xiao Yanran.
Xiao Yu was also there, but he sat on a chair to the side with a cold face, clearly not wanting to participate in such a childish activity.
"Stop right now."
Xie Qingran hurriedly gave an order, then got off the swing and bowed respectfully: "Mother is here. Greetings, Mother. Mother, look, this is the swing your daughter made..."
"You went to Furong Garden and gave that bitch something?" Madam Wang interrupted Xie Qingran coldly, her eyebrows furrowed tightly. "Do you only feel happy when you're going against me?"
Xie Qingran had long known that Madam Wang would come to demand an explanation, but she never expected that this day would come of all times.
"When my daughter just returned, Aunt Tian gave me some pastries and fabric. Now that my daughter has some extra, I naturally want to repay that favor. What's wrong, Mother?" Xie Qingran's expression remained indifferent, as if she were dealing with a business matter.
The more she acted this way, the more uncomfortable Wang felt. Her eyebrows furrowed tightly: "You know I don't like her, yet you still get so close to her. Are you deliberately trying to antagonize me? Don't forget whose daughter you are!"
"Miss Xie, the pastries are ready. Please come in and have some." Madam Qin came out from the inner room, her eyes crinkling as she looked at Xie Qingran.
However, his expression changed when his gaze fell upon Madam Wang, but he still walked over, bowed, and said with a smile, "Greetings, Madam."
Wang frowned and looked at Qin: "What are you doing here?"
"I brought my child over for a visit, is Madam not welcoming me?"
