Make it clear
In the past, the title "Young Master Wen" bound him, but now, he has personally put these "shackles" on Qi Zui's hands.
"Why pretend nothing happened?" Qi Zui frowned, gripping his hand tighter and tighter.
Wen Xubai didn't dare turn around; he didn't want to see Qi Zui's heartbroken eyes. If he could, he would even prefer Qi Zui to just yell at him or beat him up, at least then he wouldn't have to suffer like this anymore...
The person behind him noticed his avoidance but clearly didn't want him to have his way. Feeling the subtle pulling and tugging on his wrist, even though he only had one hand to use, Qi Zui still exerted force and pulled Wen Xubai back.
"Ah Che, why are you pretending nothing happened?" the man asked again.
Qi Zui's eyes were so intense that Wen Xubai felt as if his heart had been pierced by just one glance. He quickly lowered his head, trying to avoid his gaze.
Qi Zui, however, held him in his arms, propped up his chin with one hand, and forced him to look at him.
"Why?" the man asked for the third time.
Wen Xubai suddenly felt a little short of breath. He didn't know if Qi Zui was asking about what he had just overheard outside the ward, or about the betrayal he had committed three years ago.
But he couldn't answer either of them.
So Wen Xubai bit his lip and remained silent.
Qi Zui, however, seemed determined not to let him go until he spoke, and they remained locked in a stalemate, his gaze fixed intently on each other.
The evening breeze blew past the two of them, intertwining their hair. Wen Xubai was only wearing a thin shirt when he came out, while Qi Zui's suit jacket had already fallen to the ground during their struggle.
Wen Xubai finally couldn't take it anymore and coldly said, "The deed is done, does the reason still matter?"
As he spoke, he took a deep breath and finally looked directly into Qi Zui's slightly questioning eyes, feigning composure as he said, "I betrayed you, that's a fact. If you want revenge on me... whatever the conditions, I'll accept."
"Accept both?" Qi Zui sneered, suddenly taking another step closer and cornering him against the wall. His warm breath brushed against his ear as he said, word by word, "What if I asked you to stay by my side forever? No matter what happens, you're not allowed to leave me. Can you accept that?"
Wen Xubai's body trembled slightly, and he gritted his teeth and said, "Wen Xuchi, you know this is impossible."
He is now Ruan Xing's man, and Qi Zui still needs his help. It is impossible for Qi Zui to openly oppose Ruan Xing. The Wen family also feels that it is impossible to accept someone who poses a threat to them.
not to mention······
Wen Xubai lowered his eyes.
He has not yet avenged himself.
Qi was most annoyed by his distraction, and forced him to look up again, pressing his burning body closer and demanding, "Then tell me the reason."
He had to hear Xu Bai say those words himself.
However, Wen Xubai just clenched his fists tightly and refused to say anything.
"Ha..." Qi grabbed a handful of hair in frustration. What he used to love most was Wen Xubai's composure in the face of Mount Tai's collapse, his calm and self-possessed demeanor no matter what happened, his face as cold as an iceberg, yet he was only willing to be moved by him, and to show his joy, anger, sorrow and happiness under his guidance.
At this moment, he truly hated Wen Xubai's stubborn nature.
Okay, since he doesn't want to talk about it, then he'll have to.
Their bodies were almost touching. Wen Xubai struggled uncomfortably, wanting to end this farce as soon as possible, but the next second, the hand that had been holding his chin suddenly covered his waist, tightened abruptly, and pulled him towards himself.
The man's body was burning hot, like a branding iron. Wen Xubai stumbled as he was pulled, instinctively raising his hand to brace himself. The moment his hand touched the man's firm chest, Wen Xubai exclaimed in shock, "What are you doing?!"
But Qi Zui smiled and said with a roguish grin, "Because you love me."
I still love you.
Wen Xubai was stunned, forgetting even to struggle.
Qi Zui, however, seemed to add fuel to the fire, constantly stirring up his already chaotic thoughts, saying word by word: "You changed your mind time and time again, you indulged me time and time again. You could have escaped my control at any time, but you didn't. Why?"
As he spoke, he gestured to his right hand, which was in a cast. The meaning was clear: if Wen Xubai wanted to push him away, he could have simply turned his back and left, but he didn't.
Why?
Wen Xubai felt as if his brain was a forest after a fire. In the aftermath of the storm, all that remained was a mess. There were no towering trees, only emptiness, and he could not think of anything.
Then, in the empty forest, only the man's voice suddenly echoed, saying with a smile, "Because... you can't bear to part with it."
As he spoke, the man pulled him a little closer again.
Their breaths mingled the moment they met, and Qi Zui's head was right next to his ear, as if whispering sweet nothings to each other, intimately close.
Wen Xubai froze abruptly, his hand that had been pushing her away hanging in mid-air.
Before he could speak, the man suddenly stepped back, creating some distance between them. The spot that had been burning hot instantly turned icy cold, and Wen Xubai instinctively reached out to grab it, clinging to the lost warmth.
It wasn't until his fingers touched the corner of the man's open shirt that Wen Xubai suddenly realized he had fallen for Qi Zui's trick.
As expected, when Wen Xubai looked up, he saw Qi Zui with a triumphant smirk in his eyes. Instantly, anger welled up inside him, and he shoved Qi Zui away, shouting, "Who's reluctant to part with him?!"
"Ugh!" Unexpectedly, he touched Qi Zui's wound, and the man groaned and stepped back, clutching his abdomen.
Seeing Qi Zui's pained expression, Wen Xubai immediately regretted his actions and quickly reached out to support the man with a contorted face, asking worriedly, "Are you alright?"
Qi Zui couldn't help but feel a secret joy, but the pain was real. When he fell to the ground with Wen Xubai in his arms, they landed right on a rock on the highway. He almost got a bloody hole in his lower abdomen, just two inches below the surface. If it had been any deeper, he would have been done for.
Qi Zui's arm was also injured when he was protecting Wen Xubai. It wasn't actually broken, but the bone was slightly bent, so the doctor simply treated it as a minor fracture.
His face alternated between pale and flushed, and Qi Zui managed to force a bitter smile as he said with difficulty, "How could I be alright...?"
Just that one sentence instantly stirred up the overwhelming guilt in Wen Xubai's heart.
Wen Xubai's brows were furrowed so deeply that they almost formed a deep frown. He quickly helped Qi Zui to sit down in the corner, reached out to pull at Qi Zui's clothes, and shouted, "Where are you hurt?"
She quickly scanned him up and down, while gently touching the bandages to check for any bleeding points on the man's body.
The touch on his abs was slightly cool, and Qi almost burst out laughing. But the moment Wen Xubai glanced at him with worried eyes, he quickly put on a pained expression, clutching his stomach and groaning, "Ouch, ouch."
Unable to find any bleeding points, and with the only visible bruises, the deeper wounds were all covered by bandages. Hearing Qi Zui's constant cries of pain in his ear, Wen Xubai was extremely anxious, and his fingers began to tremble slightly.
His long neck was exposed to the moonlight, which made his pale skin appear even paler, and his bluish-purple veins bulged slightly. He looked like a lamb that had let its guard down in the animal kingdom, and the "big bad wolf" in front of him could bite his neck at any moment when he wasn't paying attention.
Wen Xubai also had abrasions on his face, which had been treated. Thin bandages were applied to his face, moving with his facial expressions.
In the end, Wen Xubai hesitated, then said anxiously, "I'll go get you a doctor!"
Seeing Wen Xubai about to get up, Qi Zui was startled and almost instinctively grabbed Wen Xubai's hand: "Don't go!"
Oh my god, that's terrible! We'll be completely exposed as soon as the doctor arrives!
Qi Zui stared wide-eyed at Wen Xubai, who had stood up, his mind racing.
The next second, as if he had been transformed into a movie star, he clutched his chest in pain and said with difficulty, "Ouch, don't go, my heart hurts too."
The tall man was now curled up into a small ball, his rugged face full of pain, yet he stubbornly clung to him, refusing to let go. His shirt was half off, revealing the man's muscular shoulders.
For some reason, Wen Xubai felt a sharp pain in his nerves. The image of the man falling off the hospital bed and pleading with him overlapped with the present scene in his memory. He suddenly lost his strength and slowly squatted down.
"Ah Che... help me..."
A sharp pain shot through his heart. As if possessed, Wen Xubai wrapped his arms around Qi Zui's shoulders, gently patting his back, his voice trembling as he soothed him, "I won't leave, I'll stay here..."
“But… your injury…” Wen Xubai seemed somewhat conflicted.
The man's furry head rubbed against Wen Xubai's neck, as if seeking comfort, accompanied by a few moans, which made Wen Xubai feel extremely uncomfortable.
The next second, Qi Zui covered his hand with hers, then gently placed it on the spot where the rock had pressed against her, and whispered in his ear, "Luckily, it only pressed down here. If it had gone any lower... your husband wouldn't have been able to give you 'happiness'..."
Like a thunderbolt exploding in Wen Xubai's mind, he stared blankly at the person in front of him. After seeing Qi Zui's barely suppressed laughter, he finally realized that he had been tricked. Instantly, anger rose in his heart, and he pushed Qi Zui away!
"Are you kidding me?!" Wen Xubai said angrily.
"No, no." Qi Zui struggled to suppress a laugh as he forced himself to his feet, enduring the pain in his abdomen. His smile froze for a moment when he saw Wen Xubai's dark expression, then he chuckled awkwardly, "A-Che, I..."
"Get out!" Wen Xubai stomped on Qi Zui's foot in a fit of anger, then turned and left angrily!
Only Qi Zui, who was jumping up and down in frustration, was left behind, wanting to hug Che's legs but unable to. He shouted, "A-Che!"
