Chapter 232

Chapter 232

I shook him off and snorted.

He smiled and followed me.

The man in red raised his eyebrows and walked slowly at the end.

I walked for a long time before I realized that I seemed to have reached the first one and had lost my direction.

I had no choice but to look at my friend.

"Do you know where we should go now?"

I asked my friend.

"You were walking so fast, I thought you knew the way, but you didn't? Okay! Then I'll lead the way. Where are we going now?"

my friend asked.

"We are now going to find the person who is calling for help."

I hesitated before answering.

My friend nodded and walked past me to the first one.

He became the leader among the three of us.

“That sound seemed to be floating in front of me all the time.

If that person is not trapped somewhere, then he must be running around. If a person can run around, how can he be in need of rescue?

Maybe there are some wild monsters over there, why don't we take a rest here?

It's getting dark, and it seems to be very late. We need to decide where to sleep tonight as soon as possible, otherwise we may not be able to wait until the next morning."

My friend said to me as we walked.

"Hey, look, there seems to be something here."

I tripped over a rock and fell against a tree.

I saw some patterns on the bark of this tree. I think these are not ordinary patterns on tree bark, but records carved on stones by people passing by.

I pointed at the tree and said to my friend.

"It looks like there's something there. Do you have a flashlight?"

My friend took a closer look, nodded, held out his hand to me and asked.

I rummaged through my backpack and pulled out a huge black flashlight and slapped it on his hand.

My friend turned on the flashlight, shone it towards the tree, discovered some patterns, and fell into deep thought.

The man in red was surprised to see both of us guarding the same tree.

He came over and wanted to ask us why we didn't leave, but when he saw the tree and the flashlight shining directly on the lines on the bark, he thought of something.

I waited for them for a long time before they came to their senses.

“What does this thing seem to be telling us?”

My friend murmured to himself.

"Don't walk alone on the road, or you will be followed by the second person. Don't walk side by side with two people, or you will be killed by the third person. Don't walk together with three people, or you will be separated."

The man in red began to sing like chanting a sutra.

My friend and I stared at him in amazement.

He closed his mouth after he finished reading those words, and slowly came to his senses. He saw that both of our faces were very surprised. He didn't know what had happened. He looked around and became even more confused.

"Why are you looking at me like that? What happened?"

asked the man in red.

"Have you forgotten what just happened?

You just said something to these things that we didn't understand, but now that you've come to your senses, maybe we can discuss what you meant by what you just said."

My friend who was in charge of tidying up late said to him.

I stood by and nodded.

The man in red hesitated.

"So what did I just say? Let's discuss it now."

The man in red said.

My friend repeated what he had just said to him, and then we discussed it together.

"Don't walk alone on the road, or you will be caught up by the second person, meaning you will be caught up by your companions or seen by strange things, and then entangled?"

"Maybe we should split up now. It would be safer to go alone than in a group, because as long as we ignore the second person who catches up with us, we can get away safely."

"Even if we leave here, where can we go? Maybe we should get familiar with the terrain and stay here for a day or two. When the fog outside clears, someone will come to rescue us."

"I didn't realize you were so naive."

My friend looked at the man in red.

"This is not naive. You may think what I said is unreasonable, but we have to find a way to survive."

Said the man in red.

"What does the second sentence mean?"

I asked.

"Two people should not walk side by side on the road, otherwise they will be killed by a third person. Perhaps it is to let us be alert to those behind us. The meaning of the first sentence is similar."

"If the three of us don't go together, we will definitely separate. Do you want us to separate now? This way, we can separate ourselves if something goes wrong. It's always easier to adapt than encountering an accident."

“Even though we might get into trouble if an accident happens, if we separate ourselves, won’t we definitely encounter the things described in these words?

If this is a sincere advice and not a false accusation to scare us. "

We looked at each other. The shouting of someone in our ears gradually stopped, and there was no more cry for help.

We all know that now is the time to make a choice.

My friend took a fancy to me and asked, "Do you want to be with me or separate? I will be with you no matter what you choose."

"Then let's split up. Maybe it's safer this way."

I smiled and said.

My friend nodded and said, "Okay, let's separate now. What should we do next?"

"After passing through this forest, maybe we can go to a safer place to discuss rest. After all, sitting on the ground outdoors is always better than being in a car where we are protected from the wind and rain and safer."

The man in red said.

"If the doors and windows are closed in the car, it is indeed safe and warm, but if they want to escape, they may all be trapped inside. From this point of view, it is a good thing that we are scattered."

My friend laughed and said.

I nodded.

We then started to separate and go our separate ways.

After walking for a while, I heard someone shouting for help again, so I followed the sound and found that this time the voice was very close and was not running around.

I walked over to where the sound came from.

This is a dark pit.

It looked like a hunter had dug a trap here to catch a wild animal, but it was not a wild animal that fell into the trap, but a human.

So the people inside shouted for help.

If there really is a person inside, it is not impossible that I won't be able to climb out, but if there is no person inside, I might die after just one look.

I hesitated for a moment, then carefully kicked a stone next to me in.

There was a roar from within.

I was so scared that I ran away immediately.

But I didn't run far before I heard shouting again.

This time the shouting was not from the same direction as the last time, so I ran over in the direction of the sound and found it was still a pothole.

I threw a stone into it, and this time a woman's voice came out.

"Who was throwing stones at me outside?"

The woman asked with an "ah".

Then the woman inside seemed to react and raised her head at the edge of the pit and shouted to the outside.

"Help, help, save me quickly!

I am really a human being, please save me!

I am dying. If I stay here any longer, I will really die. My ankle is sprained and I can’t climb up. I am not doing this on purpose. I am not a liar. "

The woman below started crying and her voice sounded more and more familiar.

I hesitated for a moment, then went over and looked down.

I saw a huge butterfly stuck on a white spider web. The butterfly flapped its wings and had a woman's head. The woman looked familiar to me.

But I couldn't remember who it was for a moment, so I turned around and ran away.

There were still shouting sounds coming from behind, but after a while it seemed that the shouting stopped as it realized that there was no one outside.

Then, I heard shouting coming from a third direction. Thinking that this time it might be a human, I went over and tried it the same way as last time.

After the test, I heard a woman's voice coming from the cave. I went to see and saw a woman in blue clothes trying to climb up from the bottom.

I tried to get the woman out of that pit.

"Weren't you resting with someone far away? How did you suddenly fall into this pit?"

I asked the woman curiously.

The woman in blue was dirty and her clothes were covered with mud. She frowned and wiped her face with the back of her slightly clean hand.

"We were resting, but suddenly we were very hungry and wanted to find something to eat. However, when we opened our backpacks, we found that all the food was gone, not even a bit, so we had to look for it nearby.

We found some mushrooms that looked edible and boiled them in water. The mushrooms were very fragrant and tasted delicious.

But after eating it, I felt dizzy and couldn’t sit up straight, so I had to lie on the ground to rest and gradually fell asleep.

In my sleep I heard someone singing. When I opened my eyes, I saw my companion singing and dancing, with most of his clothes torn off, and trying to run deep into the forest.

I called her but she didn't listen to me, so I had to chase her. I didn't want to be separated from her, but she ran very fast and I sprained my foot so I couldn't keep up with her, so I had to sit down and rest halfway.

Who knows?

I suddenly rolled in here and was unconscious for a while before I woke up.

But after I woke up, I couldn’t find anyone no matter how hard I called. I didn’t know where my companion had gone.”

The woman in blue shook her head and sighed.

Looks very distressed.

I doubted the truth of these words, but I didn't say it out loud. However, she looked at me, read my thoughts from my expression, and sneered.

"Do you think I killed her?

I'm telling you, I didn't do anything like that!

If I killed her, I wouldn't have fallen in at all, and what good would it do me if I killed her?

Can I steal her supplies? If I steal her supplies, how many more days can I live?

Have you forgotten that I was the one who asked her to stay with me? I didn't ask her to stay and be killed by me.

What's going on in your head? Or do you have no head at all? How could you think of me like that?!"
