Chapter 292
“Hello, I need help. Do you have time to listen to a story?”
A strange young man walked in from the door and asked.
"OK."
I answered with a smile.
“I work in a supermarket. There is a boss and two employees. I am one of the employees and have been working there for a while. Recently, a new person came.
That new person is another employee.
She is not very old, has two braids, a lot of hair, and big eyes. She is a pretty young girl. At first glance, she looks like a student.
So everyone calls her school girl.
One night, a female student and I were working the night shift together. We chatted about random things, and suddenly she received a call saying that she wanted to go home early because it was almost time to get off work, so I let her go.
After she left, I turned off the lights and closed the store until I got off work and left the supermarket.
But I didn't see the schoolgirl at work the next day.
I thought the girl was just delayed by something, so I didn't take it seriously. But after another day, the girl still didn't go to work, so I thought it was a bit strange, until that weekend.
My boss suddenly told me that after the students were fired for being absent from work, they might hire new employees to work with me, and asked me not to be surprised when I saw new employees.
I nodded, but I felt strange in my heart. But it was just strange, and I didn't do anything else. Until the second weekend, an elderly couple suddenly came to my house.
They found the supermarket, holding a missing person notice and asked me if I had seen this person before. I recognized her as soon as I saw the paper; it was a photo of a schoolgirl.
I was stunned for a moment. The couple noticed my reaction and looked like they had never seen such a person before. They started crying and begging me to tell them what had happened to their child.
I said I didn't know, and they left disappointed.
I called my boss and he said he didn't know either.
I continued to work as usual, but that evening, something unusual happened in the supermarket.
At first I didn't realize there was a problem. I thought it was a mouse making a noise or a cockroach running past where I didn't see it and I noticed it but I didn't see it clearly.
I rubbed my eyes, felt that I needed to rest, and left early.
After closing the store, I walked for a while, felt uneasy, and went back to check. I found that the blue lights were on in the supermarket.
But the lights in the supermarket have always been white and yellow, never blue.
Moreover, I checked the light bulb carefully when I left. I must have turned off the light before I left. Otherwise, the leader would have asked me to pay the electricity fee. Why should I pay that electricity bill for no reason?
There's no way I could leave without turning off the lights.
Even if there was a blue light in the supermarket, who turned it on? I didn’t know, but I was a little scared. I was worried that there was a thief inside, so I ran away quickly.
Because I saw a news report a while ago that a thief stabbed the homeowner after being discovered, and the homeowner died.
Although I work in a supermarket, I am not the owner of the supermarket, so I don’t need to sacrifice my life for the supermarket.
I ran home but still felt uneasy and had a nightmare, but when I woke up I had no memory of what happened, so I went back to work, but when I was at work I suddenly remembered it.
I am very scared.
I closed my eyes and tried to comfort myself.
But when I closed my eyes, I felt everything around me turned blue, as if the blue light from that night suddenly shone on me.
I was startled and opened my eyes only to find that the light was still white.
Even though the deadly white light was very bright, I couldn't feel at ease. At this moment, I heard footsteps behind me, and I turned around and found that it was a middle-aged man who often came to buy things.
This middle-aged man is a little bald, so everyone calls him Bald Uncle.
The bald uncle who came over to buy cigarettes was startled by me and asked me what happened. I told him that I felt something was wrong. He laughed and said that I was too nervous or too tired.
He told me to take a leave when I have time, go home and rest well before coming back, and not to worry too much about work. It would be useless to have a job if my health is not good.
I knew in my heart that he was right, but without a job I had no money, and without money I was dying. Staying here was also the same as dying. I didn't know what to do.
I heard you had a solution, so I came to see you.
I can give you money as long as you can solve my problem for me."
The young man took my hand and said.
"Then I'll go with you tonight. You're on duty tonight, right?"
I asked him with a smile.
"Yes, yes. It would be great if you could come with me. I don't think the boss would mind it.
If you want to buy anything tonight, just tell me and I’ll pay for it.”
The young man smiled and nodded.
We reached an agreement.
He rested in my room for a while, got up at the sound of the alarm, and took me to the supermarket where he worked.
"What should I call you?"
I asked him.
"Everyone calls me the supermarket boy, you can call me that too."
He answered with a smile.
"good."
I nodded.
"So what should I call you?"
The supermarket guy asked.
"Today my name is Red Apple, you can call me that."
I smiled at him.
“It’s an interesting name. And it sounds healthy and delicious.”
The supermarket guy smiled and nodded.
It was getting dark.
A guest walked in through the quiet door.
It was a bald uncle who came to buy cigarettes.
"Supermarket boy, you haven't had a rest today? If you continue like this, it will be terrible."
The bald uncle said.
"I can't help it. My boss hasn't found another employee, and I can't lose this job."
The supermarket guy smiled at him.
"Who's that next to you?"
The bald uncle pointed at me and asked.
"Oh, this is my friend. He came to keep me company because he heard me say that I was having a dream recently."
The supermarket guy smiled and answered.
"It's good to have friends. It's not so scary when someone is with you. Don't be afraid even if you have nightmares."
The bald uncle nodded, took his cigarette and left.
As soon as he left, the lights in the supermarket suddenly turned blue and flashed.
But he didn't seem to notice at all and walked out anyway.
The person who reacted most to this change was the supermarket guy. His face turned pale and he rushed out from behind the cashier counter and grabbed my arm, looking extremely panicked.
"What should I do?"
The supermarket guy asked me.
"Isn't that a big deal? Maybe it's just the light bulb. Have you had it fixed?"
I patted his hand and asked.
"I don't know. I'll ask someone now."
The supermarket guy shook his head and let go of my arm, which had already been left with handprints.
He made a phone call and found a light bulb repairman.
The master brought out a very tall ladder from the tool room, stepped on it to try the bulb, shook his head, came down again, and told the supermarket boy that there was no problem.
"How is that possible? He saw the same thing as me. The light suddenly changed color. It even flashed. A normal light wouldn't flash, or change color so suddenly."
The supermarket guy said in disbelief.
"I don't know. Maybe I'm not capable enough. But maybe you can go see a psychiatrist or an ophthalmologist in the hospital. They will be able to help you more than I can."
The light bulb repairman shook his head, picked up his toolbox and left without asking for money.
Perhaps he thought that he could not help, had not done anything, and had not contributed anything, so it would be better for his life safety if he left this place as soon as possible.
"You saw that, didn't you? The light bulb suddenly changed color. I wasn't dreaming. It wasn't an illusion. It wasn't that I was too tired. I didn't work very long today."
The supermarket guy looked at me and asked.
"Yes, I saw it."
I nodded in affirmation, and he breathed a sigh of relief, almost slumping in his chair.
The lights above suddenly flashed again, but this time there was no color change, and the entire supermarket was plunged into darkness.
The supermarket guy suddenly jumped up from his chair, I don't know where he hit, he let out a cry, I was standing not far away with a frown on my face and heard his cry of pain.
At the same time, I saw a figure flash across the glass of a supermarket not far away. The figure was white, with blood on his face, messy hair, and his eyes were not clear.
His arms were thin and weak, and his fingers had sharp nails and were stained with dark brown blood. They swayed back and forth, causing his clothes to sway as if blown by the wind, as he walked from left to right.
At first the figure seemed unconscious.
Just when I thought I was safe, the figure suddenly noticed my attention, turned around abruptly, and pressed his huge, miserable, bloody face against the glass of the supermarket.
bang.
There was a crack in the glass.
There was no body in that gap, just an ordinary crack.
The huge face disappeared, as if it just looked at me, but I don't think that person disappeared because I could still feel the feeling of being stared at by something.
Even though the eyes of the figure I saw shouldn't have seen me.
“I knew it wouldn’t be that simple.”
The supermarket guy found a flashlight from somewhere and turned it on, shining the light directly on me.
I took a step back and stood next to the shelf, which half blocked me. He seemed to realize that the light should not be directed at others, so he moved the flashlight down a little.
The light fell on the ground in a circle, but it was incomplete.
He came out from behind the cash register and said apologetically, "I don't know what's going on, but maybe I should go check the switch now. Do you want to come with me?"
"For your safety and the money you gave me, I will go with you."
I smiled at him and said.
“That’s great.”
The supermarket guy was very happy.
