Chapter 105 The Talkative Countess

Han Mengyao's experience that night was actually far more exciting than Ji Qian and the others had imagined.

As soon as she came out of the armory, Han Mengyao noticed something strange about her waist. She thought there might be something wrong with her belt and was about to turn around to check when she was drawn to the sudden music.

The melodious piano music grew louder as it approached, and before Han Mengyao could even recognize the tune, she lost consciousness on the spot.

When she opened her eyes again, she found herself sitting in the castle's living room, opposite a richly dressed blonde woman.

The woman didn't look very old, maybe around twenty. She was beautiful, with a pair of deep blue eyes that looked like a tranquil lake in the sunlight.

Seeing Han Mengyao wake up, the woman first smiled slightly to show her goodwill, and then asked:

Do you recognize me?

Han Mengyao was taken aback when she heard this. She did recognize the woman, but since she was unsure of her intentions, she had no choice but to remain silent.

The woman wasn't annoyed at all; instead, she continued quite naturally, "I was the former owner of this castle, Alice Light Brooke. You should have seen reports about me."

Han Mengyao then remembered that this Alice Light Brook was the wife of the last Earl of Lanruel, Leslie Balzac Brook.

The background information released by the program team included portraits of Count Lanruer and his wife. Because the two people in the portraits looked too young, she was unable to recognize Alice at first glance.

Although she was inwardly shocked by the other party's identity, Han Mengyao maintained a calm demeanor on the surface, responding with the same elegant smile:

"Hello, Mrs. Brooke, may I ask what brings you here?"

Seeing Han Mengyao ask the question directly, Alice smiled shyly and stopped beating around the bush:

"Miss Han is very smart. I came here today hoping that you can do me a favor."

For a long time afterward, Han Mengyao listened to Ms. Alice recount her life experiences.

From the weather when she was born to the lavish banquet at her engagement party, Alice's account was incredibly detailed, leaving Han Mengyao dizzy and almost forgetting Alice's initial purpose.

Finally, after recounting her fierce argument with her husband, Earl Lanruel, over a crystal glass, Alice took a deep breath and prepared to get to the point:

"So I hope, Miss Han, you can persuade that strong lady to help me get rid of... Ah!!!"

Han Mengyao was listening intently when she suddenly saw half an arm fly through the air and slap hard across Alice's face.

Alice's once porcelain-like face now had a large dent, and her golden hair seemed to have dimmed considerably.

Before Han Mengyao could react, she saw Alice suddenly jump up from the sofa.

Han Mengyao instinctively tried to dodge, but saw the other person standing on the coffee table, pointing to the sky and cursing.

This was the first time Han Mengyao had ever heard of so many strange and unusual slang terms used to insult people in English.

Alice cursed for a long time. At first, she was cursing Ji Qian, but for some reason, the conversation veered off-topic and started talking about her husband.

From Alice's shouts and curses, Han Mengyao could deeply sense the resentment Alice harbored towards Earl Lanruer.

Unfortunately, because her previous story was interrupted, she didn't know where the other person's resentment came from.

After a while, Alice seemed a little tired. Seeing this, Han Mengyao quickly picked up the black tea on the table and handed it to her, taking the opportunity to remind her:

"Mrs. Brooke, you haven't finished what you were saying."

Alice, no longer caring about her image, sat down at the coffee table, took the teacup, and drank it all in one gulp before saying to Han Mengyao:

"Yes, you saw it just now. The main reason I asked you to come here is to ask you to help me... help... me... help... me..."

At this point, Alice suddenly paused, as if there was a bad signal, and then vanished from the spot in a blur.

Han Mengyao subconsciously looked up and saw that there was a large hole in the chandelier above her, and the black hole was spreading downwards.

A few seconds later, Han Mengyao was plunged into darkness again.

When Han Mengyao woke up again, what came into view was the exquisitely crafted European-style mural on the ceiling of the banquet hall.

The banquet hall was a scene of vibrant activity, with the snoring of the male staff resembling a symphony in a concert hall, each snort pounding on Han Mengyao's nerves.

Amidst the snoring, a distinctive voice quickly caught Han Mengyao's attention.

Following the strange, chainsaw-like noise, Han Mengyao discovered that the culprit was none other than Wang Yingying, who was sleeping next to Mi Yesi!

This self-proclaimed new-generation sweetheart has now moved out of her original bed and is sleeping soundly between two blankets.

Her head was resting on Mi Yesi's lap, and her feet were pressed against the assistant director sleeping on the other side. A piercing mechanical sound kept coming from between her tightly closed lips.

Considering how hard everyone worked recording yesterday, Han Mengyao didn't plan to bother the others.

She carefully crawled out of bed, and just as she stood up to stretch her limbs, she heard thunderous music erupting from beneath her feet:

"Why is it all my fault? I thought love was too beautiful, but reality was too tempting."

This alarm clock is even a DJ version!

In an instant, Han Mengyao saw at least ten people jump out of bed, including the assistant director who hadn't been sleeping very soundly.

The assistant director was overjoyed to see Han Mengyao, and in his excitement, he instinctively kicked the still-sleeping director Liu.

"Hey, Director Liu, wake up! Teacher Han is awake!"

Perhaps still a little groggy from sleep, Director Liu suddenly hugged the assistant director's leg, muttering softly, "Sweetie, don't be naughty."

The assistant director was secretly pleased to see this and was about to take the opportunity to kick him a couple more times when he saw Director Liu bite his leg.

"Awooo!!!!!!!!!!"

The assistant director jumped three feet high in pain, waking up everyone else with a shout.

Han Mengyao noticed that Wang Yingying quickly changed her position and moved back to her original bed while everyone was focused on the assistant director.

Mi Yesi was completely unaware that she had been used as a pillow all night. She only stumbled slightly when she got up because her legs were numb, but she thought it was because of insufficient blood supply to her brain.

Hearing the assistant director's scream, Ji Qian thought it was an enemy attack. Before she even opened her eyes, she grabbed a sickle and rushed forward.
