"I'll go first." Han Mengyao saw Ji Qian clinging to the door, trembling, and offered to switch places with her.
Unexpectedly, Ji Qian seemed to suddenly remember something, turning her head to stare intently at the money in her hand.
"If I release you from the scarecrow, will Sister Meng turn back to how she was before?"
Qian Huailin had been tormented by this broken body for the past two days, but he didn't know what kind of magic Ji Qian was using, and he was powerless to break free.
When Qian Huailin heard that Ji Qian was going to set him free, he was even a little incredulous. He was afraid of missing this opportunity, so he became much more careful in his speech.
"The residual gas inside the scarecrow can keep her safe for at least two hours. Even if it exceeds two hours, as long as she leaves the yard in time, there shouldn't be any major problems."
"Oh, I see," Ji Qian bent down and leaned close to Qian Huailin. "Then I'll let you out. This straw body is too flammable. It wouldn't be good if you got hurt in the fight."
Qian Huailin was completely unaware that something was amiss; in fact, he was even somewhat amazed by Ji Qian's attentiveness.
"Oh right! I didn't even think of that. Then I'll trouble you."
Old Master Qian realized something was wrong, and was about to speak up when Ji Qianfei's sharp glare silenced him.
'Anyway, Miss Ji wouldn't kill him, and besides, what this kid did was dishonorable; he deserves to suffer a bit.'
Thinking this, Mr. Qian swallowed the reminder that was about to come out of his mouth.
"Then I'll do it!" Ji Qian said without waiting for his reaction, grabbing Qian Huailin's head and feet and pulling hard.
Qian Huailin felt a heart-wrenching pain, but before he could scream, he found himself floating in mid-air once again.
Looking at the straw fragments flying everywhere and Ji Qianhe's kind smile, Qian Huailin finally realized:
"You...you...you knew all along?!"
Seeing that Ji Qian did not deny it, Qian Huailin felt a chill in his heart, as if his life was over.
He immediately knelt down on the ground, his swiftness leaving Director Liu in awe.
"Miss Ji!"
Qian Huailin crawled on his knees to Ji Qian's feet and grabbed Ji Qian's leg, saying, "All the blame is on me, a ghost. It has nothing to do with my family. If you want to kill someone, then kill me!"
Ji Qian was completely dumbfounded: "Why would I kill you?"
"Huh?" Seeing Qian Huailin's puzzled look, Ji Qian finally revealed her true purpose: "I just want to ask you for a favor."
Upon hearing this, Qian Huailin was instantly revitalized, patting his chest and guaranteeing, "Miss Ji is so righteous, you can rest assured, I, Qian Huailin, will go through fire and water for you!"
Before Qian Huailin could finish his promise, Ji Qian immediately added, "Then you go and scout ahead and lure Wan Niang out. Good luck!"
Before Qian Huailin could react, she grabbed his arm and threw him into the yard.
"Aa ...
As Qian Huailin screamed, Ji Qian turned to look at the remaining ghosts, her face still bearing that familiar, benevolent smile:
"Are you going in yourselves, or should I do it?"
Qian Handuo, who had been severely beaten by Ji Qian, was the first to respond:
"I'll walk by myself!"
Then she quickly floated into the courtyard, moving as fast as if there were some kind of emergency exit ahead.
"Brother Hai, I'm so scared."
"Don't be afraid, I'll protect you!" Wang Dahai, holding Chunhua's hand, rushed into the backyard.
Mr. and Mrs. Qian were left behind due to their physical limitations.
Just as Madam Qian was about to enter the backyard, Ji Qian reached out and stopped her, or rather, stopped Qian Hanying from entering her hand:
"The scene will be too bloody in a bit, so she shouldn't go in since she's so young."
Ji Qian originally wanted Madam Qian to stay and keep Qian Hanying company, but Madam Qian handed Qian Hanying to the assistant director instead: "You probably don't need to go in, thank you for your trouble."
The assistant director carefully took the wooden doll, his face beaming with barely suppressed joy. Director Liu, watching his delight, practically gritted his teeth in frustration.
After a brief farewell to their daughter, Mrs. Qian and Mr. Qian walked hand in hand into the backyard.
"Did they... offend you?" Although Han Mengyao didn't know what happened in the monitoring room, she could tell that something was wrong.
"You'll find out when it airs." Ji Qian kept everyone in suspense, then drew her twin swords from her waist.
Ji Qian took a deep breath, then bent over as if sprinting, and dashed into the backyard, leaving only the words in the air: "Remember to bring Director Liu in!"
Director Liu couldn't hold back any longer and swore.
Everyone else was amazed by Ji Qian's composure, but only Han Mengyao, who was closest, noticed that Ji Qian's eyes were tightly closed when she rushed in.
As soon as Ji Qian entered the courtyard, she felt the murderous intent rushing towards her. Just as she was about to raise her knife to fight back, she found that the murderous aura suddenly changed direction and rushed towards her left.
Ji Qian tried to suppress her curiosity, but she couldn't resist it.
She cautiously opened half of her eyes and looked to her left, where she saw Qian Huailin being beaten back by a female ghost whose appearance she couldn't make out.
The other five ghosts seemed to be under control, their eyes vacant and fixed in place.
Just as Qian Huailin was about to be blown off his head by the female ghost, Ji Qian swooped down and slashed the female ghost's leg with her knife.
Ji Qian used all her strength in this strike, directly severing half of the female ghost's leg.
The female ghost immediately let out a piercing scream. Ji Qian raised her hand to deliver another blow, but the female ghost in front of her suddenly disappeared.
Before Ji Qian could even prepare herself mentally and open her eyes to search, she heard Qian Huailin's cry of pain behind her.
Ji Qian quickly turned her head to look and found that Qian Huailin had retreated to the courtyard wall at some point, and the female ghost was standing next to him with her mouth wide open, ready to bite his head.
Qian Huailin stretched out his hands to resist desperately, but as soon as he exerted force, his arms quickly escaped from his body.
Ji Qian realized something was wrong when she saw it; she had completely forgotten to sew up Qian Huailin's arm!
Just as the female ghost's yellowed fangs were about to bite Qian Huailin's face, Ji Qian, in a moment of panic, threw the kitchen knife in her left hand at the female ghost.
At the same time, a brick flew through the air and struck the female ghost's face first.
Ji Qian looked in the direction the brick had come from and saw Mi Yesi triumphantly brushing the dust off her hands, the spirit talisman on the back of her hand emitting a faint light.
Mi Yesi was quite strong; with one blow of the brick, the female ghost's teeth fell to the ground, and she immediately bent over in pain.
The cleaver, which was supposed to be aimed at the female ghost's eyes, changed its target and instead sliced across the ghost's scalp.
Ji Qian hadn't expected things to turn out this way. Before she could react, she saw the female ghost let out a whimper and disappear from the spot again.
Ji Qian stood there for a while, and seeing that the female ghost did not reappear, she stepped forward and picked up Qian Huailin's two arms.
Qian Huailin was slumped against the courtyard wall, panting heavily, still shaken. Ji Qian didn't rush to help him up; instead, she sat down beside him.
"You and your wife have quite a grudge, don't you?"
There were six ghosts and six people in the courtyard, making a total of twelve targets, but the female ghost only chased after Qian Huailin and attacked him with deadly moves. Even a fool could see that the two of them had a grudge.
Qian Huailin was aware of this, so he didn't deny it, but just sighed deeply.
