Chapter 126 The Result of Being Slapped in the Face

In the midst of this awkward standoff, the conference room door opened.

Upon seeing Sun Shengli and Political Commissar Zhou Hai walk in together, Li Huai and his son both sat up straight.

Zhou Hai looked at Sun Shengli. "You should speak."

“Okay, I’ll tell you.” Sun Shengli didn’t seem to care.

As soon as he sat down, he opened the notebook in front of him. His education level was actually not as high as the political commissar's; by today's standards, he was only at the junior high school level. However, he still remembered the conversation very carefully.

Sun Shengli cleared his throat twice and then spoke.

"That's right, Comrade Zhu Yuqin said that it was your wife, Commander Li, who contacted her first."

As soon as he said this, Li Zhenhua's face turned ugly.

Li Huai appeared calm, as if he had known this all along.

According to Comrade Zhu Yuqin, that person asked her to do many things, including two previous meetings with Comrade Zhu Kexin, and several subsequent meetings with the two children, Da Wa and Er Wa. Each time she completed a task, Comrade Zhu Yuqin would receive some payment.

He even had contact with Zhu Kexin!

Li Huai was somewhat surprised.

"This time, Comrade Zhu Yuqin contacted Comrade Qian Hongxia and told you something to Chief Li. As for what it is, Chief Li should know."

Li Huai glanced over, his eyes full of mockery.

No wonder Li Zhenhua suddenly came to my house and made a scene without asking any questions; it turns out someone had also maliciously reported him.

Perhaps seeing that Chief Li's expression was getting increasingly grim, Sun Shengli's voice gradually softened.

"The details are all recorded here; you can take a look."

Sun Shengli pushed the notebook he was taking notes toward him.

Li Huai, being closer, got it first.

He read it very carefully, word by word.

Even though he was mentally prepared, he was still shocked when he saw the contents.

Unexpectedly, Yu Huimin was involved in Zhu Kexin's divorce from him.

Even though he is now very fortunate to have met Zhao Qinglan, he is also clear that the main reason Zhu Kexin divorced him is that her heart is not in this family.

Even though he knew that Yu Huimin had interfered and caused trouble, he was still very angry.

After reading it, he didn't say anything, but pressed the notebook down and slid it in front of Li Zhenhua.

Even though his face looked terrible, Li Zhenhua still opened the recorded confession and continued reading.

He still refused to believe it until he saw it with his own eyes.

But when he actually saw every single word recorded there, Li Zhenhua's lips trembled.

He wanted to say that this was a slander by a woman named Zhu Yuqin, but how could a military wife in a remote military camp in the Northwest know about his wife Yu Huimin? And the most undeniable evidence was the call records to his home.

After Li Zhenhua finished reading it, he seemed to have aged considerably.

“The actions of Comrades Zhu Yuqin and Qian Hongxia have damaged the unity of the troops. We will discuss their punishment later. Commander Li, Li Huai, do you have anything else to say?” Sun Shengli asked.

Li Zhenhua opened his mouth several times before finally saying, "I'm sorry, Commander Sun, my wife has caused trouble for your regiment."

His family affairs had somehow gotten involved in the military, making him a laughingstock in front of Li Huai's superiors. He had never felt so ashamed in his life, and he was too ashamed to offer any further explanation.

Sun Shengli then looked at Li Huai.

“I have no objection to the person who did wrong being punished as they deserve,” Li Huai said, his words carrying a double meaning.

"Since you all have no objections, we'll be leaving now."

After saying this, Sun Shengli left immediately, followed closely by Political Commissar Zhou Hai.

He wasn't going to leave; he was really afraid that Chief Li would faint in front of them. He'd seen how pale his face was.

With the matter resolved, Li Huai no longer wanted to stay in the room and got up to leave.

As he passed behind Li Zhenhua, Li Zhenhua suddenly said, "Li Huai, perhaps there's some misunderstanding here."

Li Huai sneered. "The evidence is right in front of you, and you still pretend you don't see it? What else can I say? But you'd better make that woman remember this: if she dares to do anything bad again, I won't let her get away with it!"

After making those harsh remarks, Li Huai strode away.

Li Zhenhua staggered.

"Commander!" A guard rushed over and helped him up.

If Yu Huimin were an ordinary person, Sun Shengli might actually contact her workplace or the local government to impose some punishment on her.

But that person is Li Zhenhua's superior, and Li Zhenhua is right here right now.

The commander-in-chief had already apologized and made a statement, and indeed, no losses had been caused to the military. If anyone was harmed, it was Li Huai's family. Since Li Huai hadn't indicated that he would immediately pursue the matter, Sun Shengli and Zhou Hai naturally decided to leave it for the time being.

Knowing that Yu Huimin was the mastermind behind everything was actually good news for Li Huai.

At least it's not some unknown enemy, so he and Qinglan don't need to overthink and speculate.

As for how Li Zhenhua would treat Huimin because of this incident, he didn't care at all.

Of course, he wasn't a saint. He felt quite pleased to see his own father get humiliated, and he would applaud if Yu Huimin's comfortable life was affected by it.

Not long after, Li Zhenhua took his leave with his bodyguards.

Sun Shengli also sent a car to take them away.

After Zhou Hai summoned Yang Qingmin and Deputy Battalion Commander Wei and explained what had happened, the two reacted differently.

Yang Qingmin already knew what his wife had done. Although he thought her behavior was reckless, he was secretly pleased. When his wife was caught and told, his feigned shock was a bit exaggerated.

Moreover, he is just like Qian Hongxia, refusing to reflect on his own mistakes and blaming only Zhu Yuqin, believing that Zhu Yuqin is the culprit and that his wife Qian Hongxia is completely wronged.
