It was an older woman sitting in the aisle who helped Li Huai out of the predicament.
"Girl, even twin brothers have different personalities. People are all different."
Li Huai nodded with a smile, thinking that people like Yang Qingmin and Battalion Commander Qu were not good people in his mind.
Fearing the girl might ask some strange questions, Li Huai pretended to fall asleep.
Zhang Yu went home early, which was unusual for him, and his mother found it quite strange.
Zhang Yu exclaimed excitedly, "Mom, Li Huai is coming back!" The two good brothers hadn't seen each other for a long time.
The day before he left, Li Huai made a phone call to Zhang Yu.
"Really? That's wonderful!" Mrs. Zhang said happily, but just as she finished expressing her joy, she remembered something.
"Son, is Li Huai going back to live over there?"
"How could that be? With his stepmother around, he wouldn't go back."
"Then where will he stay? If it really doesn't work out, we can let him stay at our house," Zhang's mother said through gritted teeth.
They lived in the same courtyard, but Li Huai didn't go back to the Li family's house. Yet she invited him to her house, which clearly offended Li Zhenhua.
However, she had disliked Li Zhenhua for a long time, so she decided to disregard those things. The main reason was that she felt sorry for Li Huai, who had come all the way back home only to find himself homeless.
"Mom, don't worry. Li Huai said he has a place to stay. He didn't come alone this time; his whole family came."
"Oh, where is he staying, at a guesthouse?"
"I don't know, Li Huai only said he had made arrangements."
"Aren't you stupid? You didn't even ask clearly."
"Mom, what are you and my brother talking about?" Zhang Qing came out.
"Little brat, why do you have so many questions?" Zhang Yu glanced at his sister and went back to his room.
"Mom, look at my brother," Zhang Qing pouted, dissatisfied.
"Alright, alright, you two siblings always argue whenever you're together, it's giving me a headache," Zhang's mother said speechlessly.
After spending one night at home, Zhang Yu drove out early the next morning.
Of course, he wasn't driving his own car; he wasn't high enough to be entitled to one. But being a child of a high-ranking official, borrowing a car was easy for him.
Zhang Qing originally wanted to join in the fun, but Zhang Yu ruthlessly rejected her.
Just kidding. Li Huai's family already has five members. If he brings his younger sister along, does that mean all five of them will have to squeeze into the back?
As the train approached the capital, the number of passengers decreased, but Zhao Qinglan and Li Huai still clearly divided their tasks when disembarking.
One person was responsible for carrying things, and the other was responsible for taking care of the children.
Zhang Yu wasn't waiting outside at all; he was already on the platform.
As people began to get off the train, he looked towards the entrances of each carriage.
Li Huai was very tall, making him quite noticeable in a crowd.
As soon as the family gathered on the platform, Zhang Yu ran over.
"We've finally found you!" Zhang Yu said happily, patting Li Huai on the shoulder.
Seeing that Li Huai was carrying so many bags, he took the opportunity to snatch two of them.
Li Huai didn't stand on ceremony with him either.
After doing all that, Zhang Yu looked at Zhao Qinglan, who was standing to the side with the child.
"This must be my sister-in-law and my nephew and niece!"
"Hello." Zhao Qinglan nodded and smiled.
"Alright, let's go first, we'll talk again later."
Zhang Yu immediately picked up his bag and led the way.
Thanks to Zhang Yu who drove to pick them up, otherwise, with so many people leaving the train station, they wouldn't have been able to even squeeze onto a bus.
Li Huai naturally sat in the passenger seat, while Zhao Qinglan and the three children sat in the back.
The children are all still young, so it's not crowded.
As soon as they got in the car, Zhang Yu said he wanted to treat them to a welcome feast.
"Come on, take us to our accommodation first. You've brought so much stuff."
"Alright, you're the boss today, I'll grant you any request," Zhang Yu said jokingly.
After Li Huai gave the address, Zhang Yu became curious.
"Why are you staying there? Who arranged it? You don't know, when my mom knew you were coming back, she wanted you to stay at our house."
This time, Li Huai didn't hide it from his good brother anymore and briefly explained the origin of the courtyard.
"Wow, Auntie even left you a yard! Auntie's amazing!" Zhang Yu gave a thumbs up.
Actually, Zhang Yu had always liked Aunt Liu Rumei when he was little.
"By the way, I'm coming back, so I'll try to keep it a little secret from them, so that they don't know as much as possible."
"Don't worry, I have a plan."
Seeing how close the two were, Zhao Qinglan was a little puzzled.
In my past life, why did I never hear Li Huai mention Zhang Yu as a friend? Let alone meet him.
Was it in her past life, when she met Li Huai, that they had already lost contact? Or was it something worse?
If things turn out that way later, she truly hoped that her appearance as a butterfly could change Zhang Yu's fate.
This is the capital city! All three children crowded in front of the car window, curiously observing everything that passed by.
Seeing the three children in the rearview mirror, Zhang Yu began to give them a proper explanation.
He would even slow down when passing places of special significance.
Sure enough, Zhao Qinglan had a very good impression of Zhang Yu from their first meeting.
When the car drove into the alley and stopped in front of a small courtyard, some elderly people in the alley looked at it curiously.
Li Huai and his family got out of the car.
Li Huai stepped forward and knocked on the door.
"Here, who is it?"
When the door opened, an old man with gray hair appeared.
Upon seeing Li Huai, he paused for a moment, then exclaimed with delight, "Huai boy, it's you!"
"Grandpa Dou, how are you doing?"
