Chapter 219 Returning to My Hometown

Not long after Sun sent his letter back, Sun Guangming called.

He had no objection to having more people go back together before the New Year; in fact, he thought it was a good idea.

With that, the matter was settled.

Zhao Qinglan quickly prepared her husband, regardless of whether he could go with her.

Li Huai naturally wanted to go along, but he needed to use his vacation time to go back to the capital, and then go back to his wife's hometown, so it might not be enough.

If Sun Guangming weren't with him, he definitely wouldn't feel at ease. But now that his shrewd and calculating uncle is there, he's not so worried even if he doesn't go.

Since we're going back to our hometown, we need to prepare many things in advance.

Zhao Qingzhu's child will still be young at that time, so she definitely won't go back with him.

As for whether Zhao Qingju should go or not, Madam Sun also asked her youngest daughter for her opinion.

To be honest, Zhao Qingju really had no interest in going back to her hometown.

She'd rather stay and earn money than go back.

Otherwise, she would have left too, and the snack shop would definitely have to close for many days, which would have resulted in a huge loss of money.

She was unwilling to go, so Mrs. Sun naturally did not force her.

Zhao Qinglan also asked her children for their opinions.

She has four children, and it would be a bit much to bring them all at once. But she couldn't decide for herself who to bring and who not to bring, so she decided to listen to the children's opinions first.

Although Sanwa is lazy, he is still quite attached to his biological mother, Zhao Qinglan. At two years old, he can fully understand what Zhao Qinglan means.

As soon as Zhao Qinglan finished speaking, the little guy became anxious. "Go, I want to go."

The eldest child was much more sensible, and since he wasn't very interested in going to Zhao Qinglan's hometown, he said he wanted to stay.

Erwa always followed his older brother's lead; since Dawa wasn't going, he didn't plan to go either.

Finally, following Zhao Qinglan were Xiao Duo and Sanwa.

Time flies by.

Before we knew it, winter vacation had arrived.

Zhao Qinglan made a lot of steamed buns and other long-lasting foods for her family.

With Wu Mei as her neighbor, her younger sister and brother-in-law living next door, and her husband Li Huai coming home occasionally, she wasn't too worried about her family.

After packing all their luggage, she and her mother, along with their two children, boarded the train home.

Li Huai escorted them all the way to the train station and helped them get their things onto the train before leaving.

Although they couldn't go back to Zhao Qinglan's hometown together, Li Huai had already taken leave for the New Year.

Zhao Qinglan and her group will travel directly from their hometown to the capital, while Li Huai will bring his two sons to the capital to meet them.

This was the third child's first time riding a train, and the little guy was incredibly curious.

He was well-raised, and his appearance is a direct result of his parents' good looks; he's incredibly handsome.

As soon as Li Huai got off the train, some people on the train started teasing Sanwa.

The train was especially crowded during the Chinese New Year, but luckily they had bought sleeper berths, so it wasn't too crowded.

The third child is still young, so they bought three sleeper berths in total, and Zhao Qinglan slept with her son.

Before returning, Zhao Qinglan made a phone call to Sui Wenjing.

After a few days of train travel, they arrived at the station and saw Sui Wenjing and her husband on the platform as soon as they got off the train.

"Qinglan, this!" Sui Wenjing shouted and waved her hand.

The couple ran over and immediately took the things from their hands.

Sun carried the three children, Xiao Duo could walk on her own, while Zhao Qinglan carried two large bags. She was amazed at her own strength.

Li Aiguo carried both bags by himself, while Sui Wenjing picked up Xiaoduo.

Do you still recognize me?

"Auntie."

"Why."

"This is Sanwa? He's really good-looking." Sui Wenjing looked at Sanwa with admiration.

The couple arrived by bicycle.

Because there were many of them, Zhao Qinglan thought she would have to push her bicycle away.

Unexpectedly, Li Aiguo managed to get the four adults, two children, and two bags carried back on two bicycles.

Before they arrived, Zhao Qinglan had made it clear over the phone that they would be staying at a guesthouse.

Sui Wenjing was naturally unwilling, so Zhao Qinglan said that her uncle would also be on the trip.

Sui Wenjing had no choice but to insist on taking them home for a meal, which Zhao Qinglan couldn't refuse.

Since their uncle's train wouldn't arrive for another half day, they decided to go to Sui Wenjing's house instead.

As soon as they arrived at Sui Wenjing's house, Zhao Qinglan took out the gifts and local specialties she had prepared from her bag.

Sui Wenjing accepted them without any hesitation.

As the Lunar New Year approached, Sui Wenjing's family's food standards were raised considerably, and in addition to entertaining guests, the meals were very lavish.

Zhao Qinglan has money now and is willing to spend it, but the food on the train is definitely not as comfortable as the food at home.

After enjoying a good meal at Sui Wenjing's house, they chatted for a long time before leaving for the guesthouse.

Sun Guangming's train arrived in the evening. Zhao Qinglan went to the landing station, while the two children and their mother, Sun, stayed at the guesthouse.

Although they had been gone for several years, the county town hadn't really changed much; maybe there were just a few more stalls selling things.

As for shops that do business directly, Zhao Qinglan didn't see many.

However, she could understand that people in smaller places might be slower to accept new policies.

Sun Guangming came alone, and he didn't bring much with him, just one bag.

He still admired his niece, Zhao Qinglan.

Because he had never met Zhao Qinglan before her "rebirth," and knew what kind of situation his niece had been in, how she managed to escape her predicament on her own, and how she rescued her mother and sister, he greatly admired her.

He was utterly shocked to learn that Zhao Qinglan had passed the university entrance exam through self-study but was still able to give it up so readily.
