Chapter 221 The Brother-in-Law Unleashes His Power

If it weren't for the fear that Xiaoduo and Sanwa, being so young, would get cold, Sun Guangming, this great-uncle, would have stayed on the mountain for who knows how long.

As soon as they came down from the mountain, the village secretary invited them to his home to warm up and have something to eat.

To be honest, Zhao Qinglan and the others didn't want to stay for dinner, but it was indeed a bit cold, so they followed the village secretary to his home, intending to drink some hot water to warm up.

Old Zhao's legs and feet are much better than his old mother's; he has already arrived at Sun's village.

He was the husband Sun had divorced, and the villagers knew that. When they inquired about Sun's whereabouts, someone pointed to the village secretary's house.

While the Sun family was still sitting inside, Old Master Zhao arrived.

"Who are you, and what are you doing at my house?" The village secretary's wife was getting something in the yard when she saw Zhao Laoda walk in and frowned.

Some busybodies followed behind Zhao Laoda and, upon hearing this, began to introduce him.

"This is the one in front of Shuping."

Inside the house, the Sun family also heard these words.

Sun's expression immediately changed. Just as she was wondering what to do, Sun Guangming got up, patted his sister's shoulder, and gestured for Zhao Qinglan to take good care of Sun before leaving.

As soon as he came out, Sun Guangming gave Zhao Laoda a scrutinizing look, which was a slap in the face.

"Shuping got the better of me."

Upon hearing this, Boss Zhao's expression changed.

"Who are you?" He turned pale at the thought that Shuping might have found someone new.

"Who am I?" Sun Guangming sneered, walked over and threw a punch.

Caught off guard, Zhao Laoda was stunned by the blow. When he came to his senses, he was furious and was about to retaliate when Sun Guangming twisted his arm.

"This punch was for Shuping."

Before Zhao Laoda could speak, he threw another punch.

"This was made for Qinglan."

"This was made for Qingzhu."

"This was given for Qingju."

He punched Zhao Laoda relentlessly, leaving him utterly helpless.

Although Sun Guangming is now mainly engaged in clerical work, he fought in the war back then and received some training. Ordinary people are really no match for him.

After those punches were delivered, Boss Zhao's lip was cut, his nose was bleeding, and his face was bruised.

Inside the house, the village party secretary, fearing someone might die, had already come out in fright.

Zhao Qinglan felt a surge of satisfaction when she heard her uncle stand up for her and her mother.

Sun, on the other hand, clenched her fists in fright.

"Oh dear, Comrade Sun, you mustn't do it," the village secretary quickly interjected.

Upon hearing that the person opposite him also had the surname Sun, Zhao Laoda covered his nose and asked the question again.

"Who are you?"

"This is Shuping's older brother," the village secretary explained to Zhao Laoda.

"What?!" Old Zhao's eyes widened. He then remembered that his wife had mentioned that she had an older brother and an older sister, but they had been separated during the war.

Upon learning the other party's identity, Boss Zhao's anger vanished instantly, leaving only guilt and remorse.

"I'm sorry, it's me who's more like Shuping and Qinglan and the other sisters." He apologized with a wry smile.

“It’s too late to realize you were wrong now,” Sun Guangming sneered.

He was just thinking that he would find an opportunity to go to his sister's former mother-in-law to stand up for his sister and get some justice when he unexpectedly, Old Master Zhao came looking for him.

Suppressing his anger, he only threw a few punches at his opponent, which was already quite a display of composure.

"Where's Shuping? I want to see her." Zhao Laoda ignored his former brother-in-law's cold stare and asked.

Last time he traveled such a long way but didn't even get to see his wife. This time, he's so close, he doesn't want to miss this opportunity.

"How dare you face Shuping? Get out of here right now!" Sun Guangming said, rolling up his sleeves again.

Fearing that he might actually cause trouble at Sun Guangming's house, the village secretary dared not try to persuade Sun Guangming any further and could only quickly pull Zhao Laoda away.

"You'd better leave quickly, go now."

"Shuping, Shuping," Old Zhao called out into the house, unwilling to give up.

Just as Sun Guangming was about to strike in anger, his wife, Sun Shi, came out of the house.

"Brother, calm down."

"Shuping, why are you out here? Your brother is here."

Sun smiled, looked at Zhao Laoda, her expression complicated before calming down.

"We're already divorced, why would you want to see me?"

"Shuping." Seeing his wife finally, Zhao Laoda became excited. "Are you...are you alright?"

"After leaving the Zhao family, I realized that life can be so easy. As long as you and your family stay far away from us, I can be fine."

These words immediately made Boss Zhao feel ashamed.

"I'm sorry, it's all my fault. I've made you and the children suffer."

"That's enough, it's all in the past, let's forget about it. And from now on, don't disturb our lives."

Seeing her mother stand up and rationally argue with her father, Zhao Qinglan wanted to applaud and cheer.

Indeed, time and experience are the most powerful forces for changing a person.

Just as Zhao Laoda was about to turn away in anguish, Zhao Laotai's vile curses came from outside.

"That jinx, she still has the nerve to come back? Why doesn't she just die out there?"

Upon realizing that the insult was directed at his own sister, Sun Guangming's face immediately darkened.

Sun shuddered reflexively, but then calmed down.

She was no longer Zhao's daughter-in-law, and no longer needed to be afraid of her detestable former mother-in-law.

When Zhao Laoda arrived at the door with a livid face, he stopped his own mother.

"What are you doing here?" he said, glaring at his younger brother and sister-in-law who had come with their mother.

Although the second and third branches of the Zhao family are not on good terms now, they unite against Sun Shi, especially since Old Madam Zhao is demanding compensation from Sun Shi for their losses.
