Before Mrs. Sun could speak, Sun Guangming had already started pushing Old Lady Zhao outside.
He didn't hold back at all. This old woman was his sister's former mother-in-law and his niece's paternal grandmother. They couldn't easily lay a hand on her, but he wasn't afraid of his sister's family.
Just by listening to this old woman cursing my sister like this, one can imagine how much mistreatment my sister suffered at the hands of this old woman in the Zhao family.
If her son and daughter-in-law hadn't caught her in time, Old Lady Zhao would have been pushed to the ground.
“Say one more word to me,” Sun Guangming glared angrily.
He already has a dignified air when he's serious, and now that he's angry like this, he's really a bit scary.
"Who are you?" Old Mrs. Zhao completely ignored Sun Guangming's earlier statement, "my sister."
"Mother, this is Brother Shuping." Old Zhao sighed as he introduced Sun Guangming.
The message clearly stated that Sun had brought her brother back with her, but the mother and son paid no attention to this so-called brother; they only remembered that Sun had returned.
"What? Where did she get a brother? Aren't all her family members dead?"
Hearing this, Sun Guangming's face darkened again. Who was this person cursing?
Zhao Laoda felt that he had already wronged his ex-wife a lot, and at this moment he did not want his mother to lose face in front of her former brother-in-law.
He glared at his younger brothers and sisters-in-law who were just there to join in the fun, then helped up Old Lady Zhao and started to take her back.
"Hey, boss, what are you doing?"
Old Zhao didn't forget to turn around and apologize to Sun Guangming. "I'm sorry, my mother is old and confused. I'll take her back right away."
After saying that, he glanced at Madam Sun and Zhao Qinglan before reluctantly turning away.
No matter how much Old Lady Zhao yelled and cursed at her son, Zhao Laoda was determined to send his mother back.
Even though Zhao Lao Er and Zhao Lao San came along, it didn't mean they weren't there.
But fearing both his angry elder brother and Sun Guangming's tendency to act without warning, he didn't dare utter a single word.
Sun's two former sisters-in-law had already inquired with the people around them and learned that Sun Guangming was indeed Sun's brother and that he was doing well and had an official position. They also followed him obediently with their tails between their legs.
Not only did they dare not help their mother-in-law, but they were also afraid that Sun would remember them and bring her brother Sun Guangming to settle scores.
After watching Zhao Laoda take that annoying old woman away, Sun Guangming walked back to Sun Shi.
“Little sister, do you want to get revenge? If so, I’ll go to their house again.”
"Brother, forget it, I don't want to deal with them anymore, let's go back."
“Uncle, my grandma is never reasonable. If you can’t reason with her, she might try to take advantage of you again,” Zhao Qinglan added.
Since his sister and niece both advised against it, Sun Guangming gave up on the idea.
They went back inside with Xiaoduo and Sanwa, and headed back to the county town.
The most important thing for them when they returned to their hometown was to pay their respects at the graves of Zhao Qinglan's maternal grandparents. Once they had done that, they could leave at any time.
Neither Zhao Qinglan nor Sun Shi had much attachment to their hometown.
In the family compound, Zhao Qinglan and Sanwa didn't leave, and Dawa and the others didn't feel anything. But once they left, the house suddenly felt deserted.
When Li Huai went to work, there were no adults at home to supervise him, and the two brothers could play however they wanted. But neither of them had the energy to play anymore.
"Brother, when can we see Mom, my sister, and my brother again?" Erwa started to nag.
"We'll have to wait a few more days until Dad takes his vacation before we can leave," Da Wa replied.
"If I had known, I would have gone with Mom too," Erwa sighed.
The two brothers were bored, so they stayed at their aunt's house next door to play with their little sister, Nannan. Unfortunately, the little girl was still young and slept most of the time.
Nannan is the nickname of Zhao Qingzhu's daughter. Her formal name has also been chosen: Zhou Anning.
Zhou Jingsheng's greatest joy these days is going home and taking care of his daughter.
Because it was his daughter who gave birth, he was able to avoid some troublesome matters. Zhou Jingsheng felt that his daughter was his little lucky star.
Although her mother was no longer there to help take care of the children, Zhao Qingzhu had her two older children helping out during the day, and her husband would help her when he got off work. So, she wasn't tired at all taking care of the children and could also do the cooking and housework at the same time.
After returning to the county town, Zhao Qinglan and her group first went to a state-run restaurant for a hot meal, and then went back to the guesthouse to rest.
They had also discussed it and decided that after finishing their business, they would take a good day off tomorrow to relax and wander around, and then take the train to Beijing the day after tomorrow.
We got up early in the morning, traveled back and forth, and even got chilled up in the cold on the mountain. Everyone was quite tired.
This time, while resting at the guesthouse, it was already dark by the time Zhao Qinglan woke up.
After she got up, she saw that her mother and daughter were still fast asleep, so she put on her coat and quietly went out.
She slept for several hours, and the food she had eaten earlier had all been digested. Not knowing when her mother and the others would wake up, she decided to go out and buy some food before it got too late.
As soon as she went there, she saw her uncle standing by the window in the hallway, smoking.
"Qinglan, you're awake." Sun Guangming looked over when he heard the noise.
"Uncle, my mom and Xiaoduo are still asleep. I'm going out to buy some food."
"Let's go, I'll go with you." He stubbed out his cigarette and walked over.
Walking side by side, Sun Guangming asked his niece some questions he wanted to ask.
"Qinglan, is there anything your in-laws need your uncle to do?"
The implication is that it's also possible to help her get some justice.
Zhao Qinglan laughed when she heard this. It felt good to be protected, but she didn't really need it.
