Chapter 256 The Meaning of a Spouse

She's not particularly good at business, but she has a great eye for business.

The main reason is that she knows which businesses are easy to make big money in and which industries have good prospects.

Sometimes, doing business is just a matter of having a little bit of foresight and opportunity.

Her prophecy represents many opportunities.

If it were just her own business, perhaps she would have followed the established path and gradually developed her expertise in the catering industry.

But now that there's someone like Zhang Yu who truly has a talent for business, she feels that if they really cooperate and work together, they might be able to seize some of those good opportunities and make money.

Of course, Zhang Yu is her husband's good friend and buddy, and her husband's role in this matter is also very important.

Zhang Yu wasn't an outsider, and there was no rush involved; he'd let her think it over first.

The children are a little unaccustomed to living in the city, since they don't have as many familiar friends in the residential area.

Fortunately, the siblings were all together and had a strong ability to adapt; they got used to it after a few days.

Once they moved to the city, Zhao Qingzhu also came with her child and mother.

Only Li Huai and Zhou Jingsheng, brothers-in-law, remained in the family quarters.

With her mother and sister arriving, Zhao Qinglan and her family were even less inclined to go back, since everything was much more convenient in the city than in their remote corner.

It was also more convenient for Zhao Qinglan and the others to go to the store, and they arrived very quickly.

This group of people were having so much fun that they forgot about home, but Li Huai and his companion suffered. They had no decent food to eat every day and could only eat in the canteen. When they went home, it was deserted and no one was there.

When there were more children, they would sometimes feel noisy, but now that they're all gone, it's excessively quiet.

Zhao Qinglan and her friends were having so much fun that they forgot all about home, but the children were still a little worried about the television at home.

Zhao Qinglan waved her hand and said, "Buy another one."

It's no big deal. The new TV will be placed in their house in the city. They can watch it however they want, unlike when they lived in the residential area where they had to worry about people coming over to watch TV and they felt bad refusing.

For Zhao Qinglan now, getting a TV ticket is not a difficult thing at all.

She took the children to see the TVs, and found that the only televisions sold in the city were black and white, not color. People were already used to watching color TVs and didn't want to watch black and white ones anymore.

With no other option, Zhao Qinglan could only try contacting Zhang Yu again to see if he could send them another color TV from the south.

Because Zhao Qinglan hadn't been home to her family in the district for many days with the children, she didn't mention Zhang Yu's suggestion to her husband.

It wasn't until Zhang Yu called Li Huai to ask if Zhao Qinglan had made up her mind that Li Huai found out what was going on.

He also missed his wife and children, so he waited for Zhao Qinglan to call home and used this as an excuse to ask her to bring the children back.

Although the house in the city is bigger, this small home in the family quarters has a different meaning for Zhao Qinglan and her children, and they feel especially close to it when they come back.

The two kids didn't even have time to go home before they went to find someone to play with.

Xiao Duo is getting older, but she goes out to play less often with her older and younger brothers.

As soon as Zhao Qinglan returned, she discussed Zhang Yu's proposal with her husband.

Actually, Li Huai hadn't thought much about it; he chose to respect his wife's opinion.

Zhao Qinglan wasn't one to hesitate or drag things out. Since her husband had said so, she knew she had to seize the opportunity; otherwise, she would likely regret it later.

So she quickly called Zhang Yu and said she agreed, but they would continue to discuss and explore the details of the collaboration later.

After all, Zhao Qinglan can't completely abandon her family to go to Beijing or Shenzhen right now. It's fine for her to go on a long trip or business trip occasionally, but she can't stay there for long.

Zhang Yu could understand this, as he hadn't originally intended for Zhao Qinglan to make a public appearance.

After talking with Zhao Qinglan in detail, he felt that her vision and many ideas were quite good, and that was what he valued about her.

The two reached an agreement for the time being, and Zhao Qinglan was relieved.

Some things need to be made clear from the beginning to avoid hurting feelings later when problems arise.

Just as Zhao Qinglan was about to hang up the phone, she remembered that she needed to trouble Zhang Yu to send them another color TV.

Zhang Yu naturally wouldn't refuse such a small favor.

Zhao Qinglan and the children have been staying in the city for so many days without coming back, and even though it was Li Huai who initially suggested it, he still felt some resentment.

So, that evening, Zhao Qinglan was given a good "punishment" by her husband, but she enjoyed it nonetheless.

If things are harmonious, it's not like only one person is enjoying it.

Just as Li Huai had predicted at the beginning.

Zhao Qinglan had been away from home for many days, and the people in the residential area were too embarrassed to ask Li Huai to watch TV for them.

Now that Zhao Qinglan is back, everyone's initial excitement has faded.

Da Wa and the others aren't stupid; they know that the TV is always on and the house is a mess, so they don't actively invite anyone to come back and watch.

Of course, Zhao Qinglan wouldn't stop them from occasionally bringing their close friends back to watch TV or something.

They had only been back for two days when the results of the college entrance examination for the two children on their arms came out.

Sun Jiajia didn't go to Beijing for the exam; she went to a teachers' college in her province.

Sun Wu, on the other hand, attended a military industrial school in Northeast China.

Although the two did not perform as well as their elder brother Sun Wen, they were still very impressive. After all, the competition for the college entrance examination is not as fierce as it was when Sun Wen took the exam.

Wu Mei and Sun Shengli were overjoyed that all three of their children were admitted to university.

Sun Shengli immediately said he would treat everyone to a celebratory meal.

Zhao Qinglan and Wu Mei were good friends, and she was also kind to Sun Wu and Sun Jiajia. She was happy for the two children when they were admitted to university and gave them generous red envelopes.
