Chapter 265 Wang Dazhi Returns Home

These past few years have been very difficult for Grandma Wang and her husband.

Without the comfortable life of being waited on hand and foot, the elderly couple had to work hard to make a living, and they also had to take care of their grandson, so life was quite tough.

The only thing that sustained them was the message their son had sent them years ago.

Every year during the Lunar New Year, the atmosphere at the Wang family's house is never very good.

Wang Xiaofei, this grandson, should have brought some joy to his grandparents, but unfortunately, instead of making them happy, he added a lot of worries.

Ever since the accident at home, Wang Xiaofei has stopped going to school, no matter how much his father pleads with him.

If he doesn't go to school, what future will he have? Old Wang was thinking of letting his grandson learn a trade so that he would have another way to make a living in the future.

However, Wang Xiaofei was extremely rebellious. He always found fault with everyone and acted as if the whole world owed him a debt. He was always getting into trouble.

Because of him, Old Man Wang and his wife felt so angry that they would lose many years of their lives. But he was their only son, so even though they were furious, they couldn't just ignore him.

On the eve of the Lunar New Year, every household enjoys a festive New Year's Eve dinner.

Wang Dazhi's figure also appeared outside the Wang family's house.

Nowadays, the three members of the Wang family, including the old man and his grandson, live in a dilapidated bungalow.

On this freezing day, only an old stove inside the house provides a little warmth.

This is a small room of about ten square meters, but it contains two beds and is also packed with other rooms, leaving very little room to move around.

Old Man Wang poked the stove, while Old Woman Wang had already set everything up on the table.

"Xiaofei, eat your food, stop looking."

"oh."

Wang Xiaofei reluctantly lifted his head from some random book.

The three sat down at a small table with four plates on it: one meat dish and three vegetable dishes. This was a much better meal than usual.

"This meat was brought over by your aunt, Xiaofei, eat it quickly." Grandma Wang tried to please her grandson.

The three ate their meal in silence. Wang Dazhi stood by the window, looking at the room. Even though he was selfish by nature, he felt a little uneasy at that moment.

After looking around and seeing that no one was outside, he stepped forward and gently knocked on the door.

"Who is it?" Old Wang asked curiously as he stood up and walked to the door.

As soon as he opened the door, Wang Dazhi squeezed in.

Before the people inside could react, Wang Dazhi had already closed the door.

"You, you, you, you," Old Man Wang stammered.

"Dazhi." Still tense and frightened, Old Lady Wang's eyes reddened upon seeing the newcomer's face.

Wang Dazhi raised a finger to shush. "I ran back quietly, don't let anyone know."

Grandma Wang quickly covered her mouth and nodded.

Old Man Wang then spoke in a low voice.

"Sit down quickly, it's cold outside, come warm up by the stove."

Wang Dazhi was pulled by his mother to sit down in front of the stove, and he also took off his hat and gloves.

Only then did Wang Dazhi look at his son, who had grown up.

Wang Xiaofei, who will be sixteen next year, is already as tall as an average adult.

He didn't seem excited at all when he saw his father return after several years.

"Xiao Fei, what's wrong? Don't you recognize your dad?" Wang Dazhi laughed.

"Why did you come back?" Wang Xiaofei said coldly.

Wang Dazhi was stunned.

"Xiaofei, how dare you talk to your father like that?" Grandma Wang nudged her grandson.

Wang Xiaofei was no longer at an age where he knew nothing. Even when scolded by his grandmother, he showed no remorse, only stubbornly refusing to listen.

Wang Dazhi frowned, noticing that his parents looked older than he had imagined, and he held back some words he wanted to say.

"Mom, let's eat. It's Chinese New Year."

"Let's eat, sit down and eat together." Old Wang became happy.

It's been so long since their family has had a New Year's Eve dinner together. If Xiao Yan hadn't embarrassed herself and was still alive, that would have been even better.

Grandma Wang then stopped nagging her grandson.

During the meal, the elderly couple couldn't help but ask their son how he had been doing all these years, and Wang Dazhi told them what he could.

As for the question of his identity upon returning, Wang Dazhi smiled.

"Dad, Mom, I came back secretly this time, but don't be too afraid if I get found out."

"Why?" Grandma Wang asked, puzzled.

Wang Dazhi showed some things.

It turns out he's now a local in Hong Kong and has a legitimate identity; even if you investigate, it's true.

Although it would be troublesome if he were exposed in mainland China, he is not as cautious as he was in previous years, which is why he dared to secretly return this time.

Upon hearing this, the elderly couple from the Wang family were naturally overjoyed.

Wang Dazhi made do with staying at home for one night. Early in the morning, while his parents were out, he pulled his son out of bed.

"What are you doing? I still want to sleep," Wang Xiaofei said angrily.

Wang Dazhi has been to a farm, escaped from prison, and wandered around for several years; he is no longer the same person he once was.

Faced with his defiant son, he quickly subdued him.

"Don't think I won't beat you up just because you're my son."

After beating his son, he took out a cigarette, lit it, and sat down.

“You’re still young. I’ll give you two choices: either I’ll leave you some money and you can continue to drift through life, or you can come with me to Hong Kong.”

He injured his manhood and can no longer have children. His daughter is lost, and now this is the only child he has left.

Despite his hostile attitude towards his biological father, Wang Dazhi, Wang Xiaofei listened quite attentively last night when Wang Dazhi talked about some things in Gangcheng.
