Chapter 269 Zhang Tao's Family Background

Cheng Tao led the eldest child to his home.

As soon as they went inside, Cheng's mother came out of the kitchen.

"You must be Yan Sen. Why did you bring something with you?"

"Auntie, these are some dishes my mom made herself. Please try them."

"Oh, we're in for a treat!" Cheng's mother smiled as she took the food and nodded to her son. "Tao Tao, take Yan Sen to play for a while. Dinner will be ready soon."

"knew."

Cheng Tao led the eldest child into the house.

Hearing the commotion outside, Mr. Cheng also came out.

"Hello, Uncle," the older child quickly greeted.

“You’re here. Go play with Tao Tao.” Father Cheng glanced at the eldest child and smiled.

The two then went to Cheng Tao's room.

Behind him, Mr. Cheng nodded with a hint of satisfaction.

He has a clear and honest look in his eyes, is from a military family, and isn't afraid of him. He's not bad.

That's right. Although Da Wa was shocked to learn that Cheng's father was the Party Secretary of the Prefectural Committee, he was not afraid.

After all, the eldest child has seen quite a few impressive people since he was a child.

Even Li Zhenhua's grandfather, whom they didn't take seriously, was once a general.

Having been to the capital several times and seen some of the world, Da Wa was quite daring.

Once inside Cheng Tao's room, Da Wa began to complain quietly.

"Your dad seems quite kind."

Cheng Tao chuckled. "You're a guest at my house, do you think my dad would give you the cold shoulder?"

"That's true."

"Come here, let me show you my treasure." Cheng Tao opened the drawer and showed off.

About twenty minutes later, they heard Cheng's mother calling them to come out for dinner.

The Cheng family is small; including the eldest child, there are only four people eating, so the table isn't crowded at all.

Perhaps because we have a guest named Da Wa today, there are quite a few dishes on the table, a total of six plates.

"Auntie only knows how to cook simple home-style dishes, which are definitely not as good as your mother's cooking, so don't complain," Cheng's mother said to her eldest child with a smile.

The eldest child's mother owns a restaurant and is a good cook; her son had mentioned it to her many times before.

The older child smiled shyly.

He is not afraid of strangers, but he is also not easy to get close to them.

There was no rule about not talking while eating at the Cheng family's dinner table. During the meal, Cheng's father asked about the eldest son's family situation.

Although Cheng Tao and Da Wa are quite close now, Da Wa, because of what happened in his family years ago, will avoid talking about his family situation if possible.

Therefore, Cheng Tao doesn't know much about Zhao Da Wa's family, but he is somewhat familiar with Zhao Qing Lan.

Knowing that Cheng's father was the Party Secretary of the Prefectural Committee, Da Wa understood that the person was just asking casually and didn't intend to scheme against his family, so he told them everything he could.

Upon learning that they had only four children, Cheng's mother felt a little envious.

Cheng Tao is their only son. They had considered having another child in the past, but sometimes they believed that having a child was a matter of fate. Later on, the couple felt that they were too busy with work to raise their child properly, so they decided not to have any more.

After all, children are not objects; once they are born, one must be responsible for them.

They didn't know that the eldest child's family was a blended family; they thought all four children shared the same parents.

When Da Wa told him that his father, Li Huai, was a deputy regimental commander, Cheng's father was slightly surprised and asked Da Wa how old Li Huai was.

After dinner, Da Wa stayed at Cheng Tao's house for a while before leaving with the gift Cheng Tao insisted on giving him. Cheng Tao even took him to the bus stop.

As soon as he left, Cheng's mother went to talk to her husband who was standing by the window.

"What, are you relieved now?"

"This kid is good. Tao Tao used to be very impulsive and unpredictable, but this kid seems quite steady and has inner wisdom. Tao Tao is lucky to have made such a friend."

Cheng Tao was also very happy that his good friend had gained his parents' approval.

Their hometown is Haishi. It was because their father worked away from home for a long time that he and his mother moved around and left their hometown when they were very young.

They do have uncles, cousins, and other relatives in their hometown. He has gone back with his parents before, but they don't see each other often and aren't very familiar with each other.

The Cheng family is not an ordinary family in Shanghai. Their children are generally precocious and lose their innocence at a young age.

He doesn't have any siblings, so to be honest, he's quite lonely.

Now that he has made a friend like Da Wa, and his parents approve, it means a lot to him.

On the way to the bus stop, Cheng Tao had a smile on his face the whole time. He even said that he would visit Da Wa's house next time. In fact, he was still very curious about the military family area.

In fact, Cheng Tao was the first friend that Da Wa made outside of his military dependents.

When they arrived at the bus stop, Cheng Tao refused to leave and insisted on staying with Da Wa until the bus arrived.

As the two were talking, a hand suddenly landed on Cheng Tao's shoulder.

"Young Master Cheng, what are you doing here?"

Cheng Tao frowned and moved the hand off his shoulder.

"Liu Binbin, don't call me that." Born into such a family, Cheng Tao was still somewhat sensitive. This kind of address, not to mention it sounds awkward now, would have caused trouble a few years ago.

Liu Binbin had just parted ways with some of his close friends when he saw Cheng Tao on his way back. His family lived in Cheng Tao's courtyard, but Liu Binbin's father had just qualified to live there. So whenever he saw Cheng Tao, he always tried to get along with him, even though Cheng Tao was several years younger than him.

"Alright, if you don't want to call me that, then don't." Liu Binbin shrugged, then looked at the older child beside him and became curious. "And who is this?"

“He’s my classmate, he came to my house to play.” Cheng Tao didn’t mention the eldest child’s name.
