Chapter 281 The Reactions of the Two Brothers

After Zhu Kexin left, Zhao Qinglan didn't stay in the store for long. She wandered around briefly to find out what had happened in the store over the past two days before going home.

When she returned home, Da Wa and Er Wa had not yet come back, but Xiao Duo and San Wa were at home.

As Xiaoduo grows older, she is becoming more and more like an older sister. In the past, it was Zhao Qinglan, their mother, who gave them early education.

Now, when Xiaoduo looks at her younger brother, she can't help but worry about this.

The poor third child is still young and just wants to lie down, but his older sister has to make him study.

Zhao Qinglan couldn't help but chuckle whenever she saw her youngest son looking utterly hopeless yet helpless with his older sister, Xiaoduo.

When it was time for dinner, the three kids finally appeared at the door.

"Mom, what's good to eat?" Erwa called out as soon as he entered the yard.

"Why don't we kill you, you little piglet, and eat you?" Zhao Qinglan glanced at her son.

Erwa chuckled. "I'm so skinny, where would I get any meat?"

Although Zhao Qinglan was going to confront her two sons, it wouldn't hurt to wait a little longer.

The family had just finished eating and turned on the TV to watch TV when Zhao Qinglan suddenly spoke up.

"Big brother, second brother, come here, Mom has something to tell you."

Although they were curious as to why they were only being told this to the two of them, the eldest and second children obediently got up.

Zhao Qinglan and her two children went into her bedroom, and she closed the door as soon as they entered.

"There's something Mom needs to tell you."

"Mom, what's the matter that you're taking it so seriously?" Erwa asked.

"Listen carefully to what Mom says." The older child tapped his younger brother on the head.

“Someone has come looking for you. She wants to see you, your biological mother,” she said calmly.

"Mom, stop joking. Aren't you our own flesh and blood?" Erwa paused for a moment and then laughed, but stopped short of finishing his sentence when he saw his brother's serious expression.

"Where is she?" Da Wa suddenly asked.

When Zhu Kexin left, he was already six years old. He remembered many things, and even though some of his memories were now blurry, he still knew that he was not Zhao Qinglan's biological son.

Unlike Erwa, although he resisted Zhao Qinglan as his stepmother when she first came, he had long forgotten Zhu Kexin, his biological mother, as he came to accept her. After all, he was only three years old at the time.

"She came to the store today, and then left. Whether you see her or not is up to you."

Before the eldest child could speak, he felt his younger brother tugging at his clothes. When he looked over, he saw his younger brother's nervous and somewhat flustered expression.

If Zhao Qinglan hadn't brought it up today, Erwa would have long forgotten that he even had a biological mother. He didn't have any fond memories of Zhu Kexin, and the thought of meeting his biological mother filled him with fear, terrified that it would cause him to become estranged from Zhao Qinglan and his family.

What he feared most was that his own mother would take him away.

"Don't be afraid, Erwa, your brother is here." Dawa felt sorry for his younger brother.

Despite Erwa's usual carefree and cheerful demeanor, he is often more vulnerable than Dawa inside.

Erwa nodded. "Mm."

What wonderful children they are! Zhao Qinglan couldn't help but curse Zhu Kexin in her heart many times over.

After calming down her younger brother, Da Wa, she turned to Zhao Qinglan.

"Mom, did she say what she wanted to do? Did she just want to see us?" Da Wa frowned.

Calling her "Mom" made Zhao Qinglan feel extremely comfortable.

"She didn't say, but don't be afraid. No matter what she wants to do, your dad and I are here for her." The eldest child can support the second child, and the children also have their parents as a backer.

Regardless of Zhu Kexin's motives this time, they will not make things difficult for the children, nor will they let Zhu Kexin succeed.

Despite the seemingly imposing manner with which the eldest child comforted his younger brother, he himself was still just a middle school student. How could he not be flustered when his rarely seen mother suddenly came back to find them?

With Zhao Qinglan's words, he seemed to feel much more at ease.

"Mom, let's meet her then. I also want to know what she's up to."

Zhao Qinglan laughed. Da Wa wasn't seeing Zhu Kexin because he wanted to see his biological mother. Just by saying that, he was already wary of Zhu Kexin.

Will Zhu Kexin's little trick succeed?

Since the eldest brother was willing to see him, the second brother, who always followed his brother's lead, was naturally also willing to see him.

Although Zhao Qinglan did not announce this directly to her family, she did not treat it as a secret either.

After they left, Xiaoduo asked Erwa what they had been talking about. Erwa didn't know what to say, so Dawa spoke first.

Upon hearing that her older and younger brothers' biological mother had arrived, Xiao Duo became nervous for them and quickly ran to Zhao Qinglan to anxiously ask her questions.

"Mom, will my eldest brother and second son leave?" She was reluctant to see them go.

"What are you thinking? Our home is right here, where could the two of them go?"

Both the eldest and second sons heard this and were overjoyed. Yes, this place, with their father, mother, third son, grandmother, and others, was their home.

Cheng Tao was somewhat petrified after overhearing their conversation.

Once everyone had started watching TV, he sat down next to the eldest child and asked in a low voice.

"Li Yansen, you're not Auntie's biological son?" He'd known Da Wa for almost a year, but he didn't know this.

"Mm." The older child nodded while watching TV.

Cheng Tao gasped.

He didn't notice at all, mainly because the relationship between Da Wa and his siblings was so good, even better than some of the sibling relationships he had seen in other families, so he never suspected anything.

Just as he hesitated whether to continue asking, fearing it might reopen old wounds, Da Wa took the initiative to explain.

"My second child and I were born to my father and his first wife, Xiaoduo was born to my mother and her first husband, and only my third child was born to my father and mother."

It took Cheng Tao a while to digest and remember this complicated and confusing relationship.

"Brother, just let me know if there's anything I can help you with." He patted Da Wa on the shoulder.

"I know, I won't hesitate to ask for your help when I need it," Da Wa said with a smile.

Seeing that he didn't seem to be in a bad mood and could even joke around, Cheng Tao breathed a sigh of relief and started discussing the scene on TV.

Seeing that the two children were watching TV and weren't too affected, Zhao Qinglan smiled.

The less the children reacted, the less important Zhu Kexin was in their hearts, which naturally pleased her.

If she had worked so hard to raise these two children for so many years and taught them so well, but they still only thought about their biological mother who abandoned them, she would definitely be hurt and sad.

Now, she's quite curious about what it will be like when the two children meet Zhu Kexin tomorrow.

As she relaxed more and more, Zhu Kexin was feeling quite pleased with herself.

The thought of meeting her two sons soon has made her, who was not particularly concerned about it at first, increasingly attentive and even a little nervous.

I wonder what her two sons look like now. What gifts should she prepare for them when they meet tomorrow?
