Chapter 355 The Wang family mother and daughter come to cause trouble

Old Mrs. Wang was naturally unhappy when her son hung up on her.

But she couldn't control her son, so she could only complain to her daughter.

Wang Dahua harbored some resentment towards her younger brother because he had sent his son and daughter back home.

She felt that since her younger brother was not with their parents, she, as his older sister, had done countless filial duties for him, and that her family had also helped him a lot in the past.

But now that her younger brother has become successful, she, as the older sister, hasn't benefited much from it. How can she be happy?

She was incredibly envious of the lives her younger brother and nephew were living, just listening to her daughter describe them. Unfortunately, all that wealth and status was out of her reach.

Of course, Wang Dahua also disliked Zhao Qinglan. She was very jealous of Zhao Qinglan's great success and often talked about her with her mother.

"Mom, why don't we go find that woman and vent our anger?" Wang Dahua urged.

"This? She might already be gone," Old Mrs. Wang hesitated.

"Whether she leaves or not, we can just go and find out. If she hasn't left, we can finally vent our anger."

Grandma Wang still couldn't make up her mind right away, mainly because the shadow left by Zhao Qinglan in the past was too heavy. She had never gained the upper hand in the confrontation between the two sides, and on the contrary, her own family's situation was getting worse and worse.

Seeing that her mother was clearly tempted but remained silent, Wang Dahua continued, "Mom, why are you afraid of her? Dazhi is so capable now. He's a man who does great things now, he wouldn't bother with her. But we can stand up for Dazhi."

That's right, the son is probably just too busy. Zhao Qinglan has caused so much trouble for our family, so let her go.

There are only a few habitable places in the county town. Wang Dahua spent a little money to inquire and found out where Zhao Qinglan and her daughters lived.

It was already dark when Zhao Qinglan was packing up her things, many of which were local specialties that Sui Wenjing had given her.

Nearby, Mrs. Sun and her two daughters were also talking, and she began to inquire about her youngest daughter's belly again.

The main problem is that her daughter has been married for two years and still hasn't gotten pregnant. How could she, as a mother, not be anxious?

It wasn't that she couldn't have children back then; it was just that she couldn't give birth to a son, so she was looked down upon and bullied by her mother-in-law and sisters-in-law.

She doesn't necessarily want her daughter to have a son, but she has to have one eventually. Even though her daughter is doing well in her husband's family now, if she can't have children, her husband's family might not treat her as well in the future.

Although she has broadened her horizons considerably in the years since she came out with her daughter, some of her deeply ingrained beliefs are still hard to change.

"Mom, I know, let's not talk about this anymore. I'll go back with you tomorrow and stay for a few days before I go back to Beijing," Zhao Qingju said, changing the subject.

Now that she's finally out, she wants to go back and see her second sister's daughter, whom she hasn't met yet.

They were talking when there was a knock on the door.

Zhao Qingzhu was closest to the door, so she got up and went to open it.

As soon as the door opened, Wang Dahua, Old Lady Wang, and two young people squeezed in.

"What are you doing?" Zhao Qingzhu shouted as she backed away.

Zhao Qinglan and the others immediately stood up and stood with Zhao Qingzhu.

"You, Zhao Qinglan, you dare to come back!" Wang Dahua said, hands on her hips.

Zhao Qinglan pushed her sister aside and stood in front.

"I haven't broken the law or done anything wrong, so why wouldn't I dare to come back?" she sneered.

"You wretched woman, if it weren't for you, my son wouldn't be able to come home. It's all your fault!" Old Mrs. Wang finally voiced the resentment she had been holding in for many years.

"Try pointing at my daughter again!" Mrs. Sun, fiercely protective of her daughter, rushed forward.

She is no longer the timid and helpless person she used to be. Her biggest regret was not being able to stand up for her daughter, and now she has expressed it all.

"What, you want to fight? Come on." Wang Dahua started rolling up her sleeves and winked at the two young men following behind her.

Seeing that something was wrong, Zhao Qinglan looked around and immediately grabbed a stool, holding it up in her hand. "Let's see who dares to lay a hand on me."

Zhao Qingzhu and Zhao Qingju quickly grabbed the tools they needed; one took the mop leaning against the toilet, and the other picked up the thermos.

The two young men had only come because they had received money from Old Lady Wang. Now, seeing the women opposite them making a desperate stand, they immediately became afraid.

If they were to actually fight, they wouldn't be afraid of a few women, but what if the other side fought back and they got hurt? That wouldn't be worth it. They just wanted to make some money and had no grudges against anyone.

Seeing that the other side dared not move, Zhao Qinglan continued, "I am a military wife. My husband is a deputy division commander. I have two younger sisters. One of my brothers-in-law is now a deputy regimental-level cadre, and the other is a cadre in Beijing. You dare to touch my daughter and me and see what happens."

Her words startled even Wang Dahua and Old Lady Wang.

They only remembered that Zhao Qinglan married a soldier; they didn't know much else.

I never expected the Zhao sisters to be doing so well now.

"You dare to mess with us? Think about whether you can bear the consequences. Who do you rely on? Wang Dazhi, who's been hiding and is still a fugitive?" Zhao Qinglan smiled contemptuously.

The two young men were completely out of their depth. One of them said directly, "Sister Da Hua, I don't want your money anymore, okay? We're not doing this anymore." Then he ran away.

Seeing this, another young man immediately left as well.

Wang Dahua cursed inwardly, but suddenly she was left with only her elderly mother. Facing Zhao Qinglan and her three daughters, she dared not act recklessly.

Zhao Qinglan breathed a sigh of relief after seeing the two young men leave.

Despite her calm demeanor, she was actually terrified inside.

She was afraid that if the other party actually attacked, she, her mother, and her sister would be harmed.

"Zhao Qinglan, how dare you mention my Dazhi!" Old Mrs. Wang was furious.

"What do I have to be afraid of? You who have done wrong are not afraid of losing face, so what do I have to be afraid of?"

"Zhao Qinglan, don't be so arrogant. Our Dazhi is much more powerful than you now," Wang Dahua couldn't help but say.

"Oh, so this means they've made contact. Mom, did you hear that? What do they call this? Harboring a criminal, failing to report information." Zhao Qinglan pretended to be hearing about Wang Dazhi for the first time.

"Then let's report it to the police," said Mrs. Sun.

The expressions on the faces of the Wang mother and daughter immediately changed.

Grandma Wang glared at her daughter who had misspoke before denying it. "You misheard. We don't know where Dazhi is. Dahua, let's go."

Watching the two flee in disarray, Zhao Qinglan sneered.

She was scared. She thought they were really formidable this time, but thinking back to the confrontation just now, she still felt a little frightened.

"It's all my fault. I opened the door without even asking who it was," Zhao Qingzhu said, still somewhat shaken.

"Don't blame yourself, you didn't expect this either," Zhao Qinglan sighed. "Let's squeeze in here tonight and sleep for a bit, then head to the train station first thing tomorrow morning."

“Alright, let’s do it this way,” Mrs. Sun said affirmatively.

Who knows what other trouble the Wang family might cause? They'd better leave as soon as possible.
