Zhao Qinglan spent almost a month organizing the new job fair.
However, all her effort was worthwhile this time, because the supermarket was doing very well, and with her promotion, many people submitted their resumes as she requested.
With a larger base, there will be more talents available.
However, because her company only has a few people, organizing this recruitment fair exhausted everyone. Even Li Huai and his children at home occasionally had to help out.
The day of the job fair was a Sunday, and many people came to the job fair.
Some were job seekers, some were accompanying relatives and friends, and others were just there for the fun of it.
Zhao Qinglan also mobilized all her family members to help.
If she finds someone she likes, she'll chat with them personally.
She would give a small gift to anyone who came to apply and filled out the form.
The items weren't actually worth much, but they made the job applicants feel that their trip was worthwhile and gave them a good impression of Lanxin's generosity.
Because of these resumes and forms, Zhao Qinglan, Zhang Wenjing, and the others worked overtime for several more days.
Fortunately, her efforts were not in vain. She notified all the candidates she had selected, met with each of them individually, and finally decided on the final hire.
This time she hired more than twenty people, and the company suddenly became much larger.
Once the staff was in place and everyone had been familiar with their work for a few days, she began sending people on business trips to other places to investigate and prepare for opening a new supermarket.
For employees who were given heavy responsibilities right after joining the company, they did not feel tired at all. On the contrary, they felt that they were being valued and were full of energy.
After finishing this matter, Zhao Qinglan took two days off to rest and spend time with her family. She cooked several meals with care to make up for neglecting them due to her busy schedule.
As the weather gradually gets colder, she started roasting sweet potatoes on the stove at home.
The eldest child was beaming with joy as soon as he returned with his younger sister.
"What good thing happened that made you so happy?" Zhao Qinglan asked.
"Mom, Uncle Cheng has been transferred to the provincial capital, and Cheng Tao will be coming in a few days."
"Really? That's great news! Cheng Tao has been thinking about you all the time, and now his wish has finally come true," Zhao Qinglan said with a smile.
Secretary Cheng is a good person; it seems he's been promoted from the regional level to the provincial capital.
The two families had a good relationship. Whether it was because Secretary Cheng was a good official or because of the friendship between the two families' children, she was very happy that the Cheng family came to the provincial capital.
"Mom, you don't know, when my brother saw Cheng Tao's letter, his mouth was practically stretched to his ears. He was so happy the whole way here," Xiao Duo teased.
"What's got you so happy?" Erwa called out as he entered, quickly moving closer to the stove to warm his hands. "Oh my god, I'm freezing!"
"Cheng Tao and his family are moving to the provincial capital," Xiao Duo said.
"That's great, brother, we can play together again." Erwa winked.
Da Wa smiled, picked up the thermos, and poured himself a glass of water.
"If you're hungry, have some roasted sweet potatoes first. Mom will check the stew on the pot," Zhao Qinglan said, getting up.
It's so cold outside, and although it's not cold inside their house, she was too lazy to cook anything special, so she made pork and cabbage stew with glass noodles, and also added some tofu balls. It would be absolutely delicious to eat on such a cold day.
When Li Huai returned, their family officially started eating.
The stew was served with steamed buns, and the family ate happily, each holding their own bowl. The TV was on, and they watched dramas while eating, sometimes even discussing the plot. It was a warm and lively meal.
"Qinglan, I thank you on behalf of my old comrades." Li Huai ate quickly, and after finishing his meal, he snuggled up to his wife and started talking.
"No need to thank me, they work hard to earn money, it's not like they get it for nothing." Zhao Qinglan smiled.
The twenty-odd people recruited this time did not include the demobilized soldiers that Li Huai brought in later.
Among them were his comrades who enlisted with him back then, but they had retired early and had always faced some difficulties in life.
Li Huai knew about his old comrades' situation before, but couldn't help them much. He would offer them money and gifts, but they wouldn't accept them. This time, when his wife's company was hiring, he learned that the first few veterans who joined were doing very well, so he had the idea of introducing jobs to his comrades.
He didn't say anything the first time because his comrade-in-arms was in another city, and it wasn't easy for him to come all the way. Besides, he wasn't sure if the job his wife offered would be stable and long-term.
Seeing that the supermarket business is doing very well, my wife wants to expand the business, so she contacted her old comrade-in-arms to ask him to help her find a job.
Just a few days ago, several of my old comrades-in-arms joined the company.
Although he was promoted to deputy division commander, he couldn't really help his comrades in terms of daily life, but luckily he had his wife.
Zhao Qinglan didn't take these things seriously. She wasn't just handing out money for nothing. If those veterans didn't do their jobs well or caused any problems in the future, she would handle it impartially.
She had explained this to her husband, so Li Huai naturally had no objections.
After returning to his bedroom to rest, Li Huai began to speak some private matters.
"Qinglan, many of my colleagues envy me now, saying that I have such a virtuous wife as you."
His wife is beautiful, generous, good at managing the household, and can also earn money. When people find out that the Lanxin Supermarket, which has recently become popular in the province, is also owned by his wife, even more people envy him.
Actually, he doesn't care much about money, and he feels very proud that everyone envies him.
"What, are you praising me in a roundabout way? You don't need my help again, do you?" she teased.
A black line flashed across Li Huai's forehead. "Can't I praise you if there's nothing wrong?"
"Yes, yes, of course you can. Come on, say a few nice things for me to hear."
